Best Pizzeria in Boston!! 11/10/2007

The Bluestone Bistro is a great local place to grab a pizza, calzone, sub or salad. They have great prices, too! I love their appetizer sampler..there's lots to share! The pizza crust variety is great if your moods change... Feeling healthy, try their yummy whole wheat thin crust. My favorite is a pepper and onion pizza on their deep dish crust. Their signature sauce is tasty, too! The best part is you can enjoy your meal with a glass of wine or a beer. They have awesome food & beer deals! I almost forgot...in the summer, they have a cool outdoor patio where they serve both food and beverages! If you haven't tried it yet, it is a must do!!! Check it out soon! Pros: quality, value, taste, variety, service Cons: parking more

Just Avoid 3/10/2007

This used to be a great little neighborhood bistro but now it's just sad. The new management has trimmed the menu to more standard fare and replaced the celestial wall decor with a big screen TV. I was the only customer for lunch and the waiter seemed to resent having to serve me. Another employee turned up the sound on the TV which played a show full of profanity (this while I was trying to read my book as I waited for my friend to join me.) I ordered the manicotti - not bad. The price was $7 and it came with a basket full of garlic bread, sort of. Seemed more like toasted bread made to look like garlic bread. But O.K. I knew I wasn't eating at the Ritz. Maybe it was because I was the only customer that the waiter went off to do other things, but I found I had to get up and flag him down at the counter not only to order but to pay. Worst of all though: the place doesn't feel clean. The bathroom floors are sticky and smell like urine and there are rings on the tables. They seem to be angling more for the college male drinking crowd - pitchers for $1. \r \r Pros: cheap Cons: cheap more

Worst service ever received. 4/26/2006

They are supposedly under new management- and I'm betting pretty soon they'll be closed completely. This was the worst experience I'd ever had eating out. The waitress never came to give us menus, we had to go get them. She screwed up our order twice (big time, not some little nit-picky screw-up), after having to wait almost 30 min to get our food. There was maybe 8 other people in the restaurant at the time and everyone was receiving bad service. The food tasted good (once we finally got it), but it wasn't worth the hassle. Don't go. Really! more

Awful with a capital F 4/10/2006

Under new management, Bluestone is awful. We seated ourselves even though we were the one ones there. The waiter took our order quickly, but the food took much longer than needed. My friend ordered a pizza which was supposed to have peppers, but instead came with pepperoni. My food was adequate in taste (the fries are decent), but $10 for chicken fingers and fries is overpriced. The waiter never came back to ask how things were or to refill drinks. After 20 minutes, I had to go to the counter to get the check, which arrived 5 minutes later. We waited for the waiter to pick it up, he never did, so we went to the counter again. I live closeby. When this place got new management, I was excited to try it. Never again. Save your money, and stay away! There are a hundred better (and cheaper) places around. Pros: On T Cons: Service more

Under new management and HORRIBLE 3/29/2006

This restaurant USED to be good. Recently, the management has changed and now it's HORRIBLE. My friends and I had to seat ourselves and also grab our own menus off the counter. The waitress only brought 2 glasses of water for 3 of us. She screwed up my order (twice) of a bagel, cream cheese, and onion and tomato. Food took forever to get and we even had to directly tell the cook about our order of homefries because the waitress could barely even speak English. Another table of 8 people had been waiting for their food for 45 minutes only to find out that their order was never even put in. Keep in mind that this place has a total of about 5-6 tables. I can honestly say that this was the WORST dining experience my friends and I have ever had. We won't be back. Pros: right on T, Fair prices, convenient to my apt. Cons: bad service, bad management more

worth the train ride 8/8/2002

Bluestone Bistro is worth the train ride from downtown for their pizza. The thick crust and excellent sauce is always consitent and they have about 40 toppings to choose from. Good beer on draft and they sell pitchers!! Brunch on Sat and Sun is also really good and they have live acoustic music on the weekends. Pros: inexpensive, good beer on draft Cons: parking more

Different 6/15/2002

Bluestone Bistro offers consistently great food for a cheap price. Their brunch is excellent. They recommend excellent wines that are not mainstream for most dishes. They are known for their pizza, but their entrees are something special. more

I miss the Bluestone Bistro 6/10/2002

Even in the darkest hours of unemployment and non-existent bank balances I still found the inspiration to visit the Bluestone Bistro at least a couple of times a week. I highly recommend any of the pizza or the Calzone. The atmosephere is great, although seating can be a bit tough sometimes. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by. Because you can. more
