happy food happy folks 4/22/2009

I have tried so many different items on the menu all have been wonderful. The sushi chefs will make suggestions and have such a friendly connection with their customers. The servings are generous, the wine quite nice, they know their stuff. The staff and owners are eager and open to your comments. I believe this is the place where anyone can afford to stop in, have a great bit of food served with friendly happy conversation. Each time I have visited I am remembered and treated like an old friend. These people care about what they are doing and they respect their customers. It is about time to get over there again, just thinking of the place makes me hungry. Thanks you guys for always giving super service and great food. Pros: the best food and wine and casual atmosphere Cons: I could not find any more

For us, Blue Ginko or nada! 2/1/2008

I have raised a family of sushi experts, and for us, it's Blue Ginko or nada! The crisp, clean atmosphere facilitates confidence in freshness, a must for me with sushi. Both the sashimi and sushi slices are perfectly generous. They all know us, they know to give my husband extra wasabi, me extra ginger and my son extra unagi sauce. Seriously, we are there every week and have NEVER had a bad experience. Thanks for coming to Lafayette! more

Expensive but good 8/23/2007

Prices were very expensive..About 4 dollars for an avocado roll!!! One of the girls that worked there rushed us and wasn't very polite. I think customer service is very key and this is something that they are lacking. Expensive and bad customer service, but good tasting food! Pros: good food! Cons: expensive, not the greatest customer service more

Hidden treasure 11/20/2005

Blue Ginko is one of the best sushi places I've been to. The food is awesome. Their sushi menu is extensive, and vrey fresh. Their other prepared menu items are very inventive, and include plenty of items for a non-sushi eating companion. The seared scallops are a perfect example. The atmosphere however is not great. Blue Ginko is basically located in a strip mall, and has very few tables. So it always feels a bit cramped and rushed. It's a great place to bring the family, however there is no kids menu, so it can be pricey for a family of 4. Pros: great food, menu variety Cons: location, ambience more

Beige 2/8/2003

I drove out to Lafayette on the recommendation of a coworker when I asked where I could get good sushi in the East Bay. True to her recommendation, the sushi was good, very fresh and perkier than a ripe pickle. Myself and my lady friend enjoyed our appetizers of fried tofu and grilled calamari. The ambience is lacking as was the condition of our server's hair. The lighting is bright overhead light, there is no music and relatively cheap laminate tables. If you are looking to impress, this is not the place to go. If you are looking for expensive sushi in a very casual and bland atmosphere, this is the place to go. Pros: Scrumptious Cuisine more
