Bliss is Bliss !! 11/16/2011

I just was at Bliss and had another amazing experience.The owner is a real perfectionist and a really caring individual, and seems to make sure all of the people she has working there are exactly the same. The place is immaculately clean and spotless and kept that way all the time. The employee's are always professionals in every area. Everyone there is sooooo nice....all the way down to the weekend receptionist (who is a beautiful 17 year old girl) who happens to also be the owner's daughter. This place is heaven on earth and the treatment, manners, talent, and professionalism that is expected of everyone that works there is heads above. They are all simply so dedicated to their professions that positive results are the only thing that could happen to everyone while visiting. It is "the most relaxing place on earth" ! I now am married and have a family. I am there twice a month and look forward to every visit. Every time I am in there I go home feeling like I have been on a vacation. I use their nail services and the hair salon regularly. My husband buys me a gift card from there every Christmas and then I will spend an entire day there getting a massage, nails and hair done....it is a day that I truly look forward to every year. I am quite sure after going there for seven years, that Bliss has, and does, work hard to have the kind of reputation they have always had and where they are known for simply being the "BEST" at what they do. They have worked hard to be the best and deserve the reputation they have earned doing it, and as a customer I am happy to help with that. I would highly recommend "Bliss". I have lived in Cleveland, Tennessee all of my life. This is by far the best place in the area and I would venture to say one of the best in the entire industry. We are really lucky to have them here in Cleveland Tennessee. Keep up the great work guys !! more

Hard to believe anyone has ever had a bad time here.... 11/16/2011

I used to work at Bliss for a number of years and it was as nice to work there as it is now to visit. The owner is so caught up in customer satisfaction it is not even funny. That is her top priority along with good service which goes hand in hand. I happen to see the one review where someone said they had received bad treatment and I almost would say that was impossible from my experiences there. I now have a sister that works there and she says that a disgruntled employee who could not live up to the expectations of working at Bliss had recently been let go. She had also told people she was going to write negative reviews on line to get even because she was angry she was fired. Only the best people in the industry get to work there and it has always been that way. Anyone that knows anything about Cleveland Tennessee, knows that Bliss is one place where you can only get top notch everything. From the talented employees to the unbelievable atmosphere there, the place is first class all the way. The owner has traveled and cut hair all over the country with all of the big shots in the industry and is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I used to work there and go back now as a customer (quite often) as much as possible. It is always a day I totally enjoy and look forward to. You will never be let down at Bliss....I never have been and I have been going there for years. When I saw that negative review I almost felt I had to defend this place....it is truly one if the few places I can always count on being what I expect it to be. Thank You Bliss !! more

Today (Saturday) I am in Cleveland Tennessee visiting my son, as he attends college here at Lee University. I just looked and was admiring my hair and nails. I love them both and that never happens at the salon I normally frequent. I normally am hit and miss.Yesterday was the first time I ever visited Bliss and I had a fabulous experience from beginning to end. It started out as a cold, ugly, rainy fall day when I started my day at Bliss. When I arrived I was greeted with coffee and a pastry as well as a smile. The receptionist Leah was working the front desk and made sure I was comfortable when I very first arrived and while waiting which took no longer than 10 minutes. Leah was great. I had my hair done today as well as my nails as I had mentioned and with both services the results were as fantastic as the experience. A girl named April did my nails and they were a work of art. She took her time and made sure they were absolutely perfect. I get my nails done regularly at home and wish I could bring April with me. I never knew that I could be that excited about having my nails done.....they look amazing. While she did my nails we had the best conversation that really made it apparent to me what kind of people were working here.....very nice ones. What a nice and very caring person that April is and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. Then Kendra did my hair and I have not had a cut done that I loved for I do not know how long !! She did amazing things and everyone that ever cuts my hair usually warns me before starting that they are "going to have a hard time' , but they will "try and do their best". Kendra simply asked me what I wanted, we looked at a few pictures and she gave me the cut I had selected. Wow !!! What a change that is for me.....I always seem to feel like I got something other than what I requested and that happens every time I get my hair cut. Kendra is an amazing stylist and from now on I will be driving the 220 miles to get my hair cut at Bliss by Kendra. Kendra also explained and taught me how to easily style my hair in the mornings when getting ready for work. She was so nice and took her time with me. I am really going to try and visit Bliss every time I visit my son here at school. I also bought some Aveda products that were recommended and I felt to be over priced. But, today when I used them......I loved them all. I actually might be able to get my hair to look like it did yesterday when it was styled by Kendra using these products. Now that would be amazing !! Bliss took a very ugly day and made it a great one. I truly wish we had a "Bliss" near where we live but for now I will be happy to drive the 220 miles to use their services. Thank you "Bliss"....I would highly recommend you !!!!!! more

"BEEN THERE DONE THAT" AND SOMETHING DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT.... 10/28/2011

I just was at Bliss and had another amazing experience. I had read the review on "City Search" (HORRIBLE experience at Bliss) and knew something absolutely had to be mistaken when I read it !! Anyone who knows anything about the ownership of this spa, knows they would never let something like that occur and or even handle things like this review said. I worked for Bliss for 7 years and now I have a sister who does, and she also loves working there. The owner is a real perfectionist and a really caring individual, and makes sure all of the people she has working there are exactly the same. The place is immaculately clean and spotless and kept that way all the time. The employee's are always professionals in every area. Everyone there is sooooo nice....all the way down to the weekend receptionist (who is a beautiful 17 year old girl) who happens to also be the owner's daughter. By the way......."she hardly looks 12 years old to me" as the woman in the review said !! This place is heaven on earth and the treatment, manners, talent, and professionalism that is expected of everyone that works there is heads above. They are all simply so dedicated to their professions that only positive results are the only thing that could happen to someone while visiting. It is "the most relaxing place on earth" ! As they are very picky when doing the hiring at Bliss. In fact the one thing I will say is that, it really is a tough place to get hired. What motivated me to write this review is that, it is really a shame to take a service like "City Search" (where people base their decisions, and thoughts on whether to use a business and their services because of other people's experiences) and abuse it for personal reasons the way this was in the one review I am talking about. I am quite sure after working there for seven years, that Bliss has, and does, work hard to have the kind of reputation they have always had and where they are known for simply being the "BEST" at what they do. They have worked hard to be the best and deserve the reputation they have earned doing it, and as a customer I am happy to help with that. To have a disgruntled employee make up a review or two on "City Search" because they couldn't cut the mustard and perform the way that they had to, to be a BLISS employee is just simply "wrong". I really do highly doubt anyone would have believed the review I am talking about anyway, especially if they had ever visited Bliss. So I am writing this review for the people who have never been there. I would highly recommend "Bliss". I have lived in Cleveland, Tennessee all of my life and worked in this profession as well as at Bliss, and as I said now my sister does. This is by far the best place in the area and I would venture to say one of the best in the entire industry. We are really lucky to have them here in Cleveland Tennessee. Most AMAZING TREATMENTS EVER! 10/28/2011

I had the most amazing services at Bliss Day Spa. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door, and although they were doing remodeling, the services were amazing. I had a wonderful experience and will deffinately will be back! more

HORRIBLE experience at Bliss 10/25/2011

I’m wondering if I had the same person do my pedicure at Bliss as the person who commented about crummy service. I agree the service was horrible! A friend who had never been to Bliss gave me a gift card. I went for a pedicure first because they said they couldn’t fit me in for both hair and feet even though the place was empty when I got there. The massage chair during my pedicure didn’t work for me either and they didn’t seem to care. I had to repolish my toes myself when I got home because the polish was bubbly and all over my skin. My cuticles were bleeding and my heels were sore when I left. And the older woman with red hair who did my pedicure kept trying to sell me facial products! I went back again to use up the gift card on my hair because I didn’t want to waste my friend’s money. The place was empty again. I had to go to Mood Swings Hair Salon to have the color fixed but they couldn’t do anything about the cut because it was too short even though I only asked for a trim. Both times I went to Bliss they messed up my appointments and then blamed me for it! Plus there was a balance due and when I checked the brochure the services I had done should have been covered by the gift card with money left over. I’m not sure what they tacked on to the bill. I didn’t bother questioning because when I saw my hair I just wanted to get out of there! And both times I went in they screwed up the time for my appointments and blamed me for it! One receptionist looked like she was twelve years old and she was rude. The other one with lots of tattoos was totally clueless. When I went in the second time for my hair there were two employees who I think were hair stylists standing around whispering about what I assumed was other clients. I had to wonder if they talked about me when I left too. They were also talking about how the place had a black mold problem and water damage. I don’t get it because the place is very pretty. I guess they care more about decorating and trying to push products then they do about quality customer service. Big thumbs down for Bliss. I’ll never go back and I’m spreading the word to everyone I know. I don’t think they’ll be in business much longer. I highly recommend Mood Swings Hair salon for hair and nails. They are professional and skilled and treat their clients wonderful. more

I got crummy service and a staff who could care less 9/27/2011

I went to Bliss for a manicure the day of my friend's wedding 9/17/11, Her mother-in-law had pre-paid for us all to get manicures before the ceremony. We had appt times scheduled during the day but Bliss let the bride know at about noon that appts were no longer needed. I arrived at 2:30 and asked if I could get a pedicure and pay the difference. At first I was told by the front desk staff that they did not have the time available. They suggested they could do a polish change. I asked if I could just get the manicure and if they could just touch up one toenail where the polish was chipped since I had to wear open toed shoes. The FD staff conferred with each other and then said that actually they could do the pedi. (They also asked me to pay the difference UP FRONT - should have been warning sign number 1) I was whisked back to a chair where the massage control didn't work for the chair. The lady doing my pedi sped through it.. barely buffed my feet, less than 2 minute leg massage, and when a staff member informed her ,"there's no hot towels", she just skipped that step completely. As soon as she dried my feet, she shoved my flip-flops on and painted my nails very quickly, leaving streaks on the sides of the nail and told me to "go sit under the dryer for about 3 min. before I left". The whole process took less than 20 min. I tipped her and immediately was mad at myself for it, especially when I saw the next two ladies were greeted nicely, shown to a place they could hang their purse (I wasn't), and took their time discussing the polish as their manicurist chatted with them. As I was leaving I stopped to talk to the girl at the FD. I explained that I know they we busy I just wished they had let me know they really DIDN'T have time for the pedi instead of giving me poor service. I (was very nice/respectful to her and) explained I didn't feel like a valued customer and definately felt that they didn't care if I was satisfied or not. I didn't ask for OR EXPECT any compensation. She muttered something about 'sorry you felt that way'. An older woman, who looked like management, heard me expressing dissatisfaction and promptly went to hide in the back. I believe they felt like they had my money so why care if I was satisfied, I had already paid! I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Service is TERRIBLE! more

What's happening here? 8/2/2010

I've been going to this salon for several years. Lately I have noticed a drastic change. Stylists have left, the atmosphere seems to be one of nervousness. I dropped by to buy some products this week and their music had been cut off. For the last few trips in for haircuts or manicures, there were no customers. Even on a Saturday. Not sure what's going on but it smells like they may be closing down or something. The girl at the front desk looks like she's anorexic or ill. I see the stylists working on each other since there are no customers, it makes it look like they are busy. Cons: no customers, no music more

Best Hair Color Service Ever! 6/15/2010

I am a natural dark blonde (blah, blah) and wanted to be a rich chocolate brown but not look too dark or washed out. Nicole, who is relatively knew at Bliss, did a great consultation with me and created the perfect color and look. I am so pleased with both the service and professionalism of everyone there. I will definitely be back. Pros: Friendly, Professional Atmosphere Cons: Can't go as often as I would like. more

Amazing day at the spa 6/15/2010

I received a gift certificate to spend a day at Bliss, after reading some of the reviews I really wasn't too excited. Since this was my first visit I don't know if staff has changed but my day was AMAZING! The place is beautiful, it smells great and the girls there were sweet, accomadating and were well above what I expected. I would definently recommend Bliss to anyone wanting a day of pampering and relaxation and if you haven't been there in a while I would suggest another try....if you get treated the way I did you will love it there. Pros: Beautifully decorated and excellent staff Cons: None more
