As a long time vegetarian, I have always enjoyed Blind Faith Cafe's food. What I have not liked in the past several years, was the renovations, cost increase, and poor service. What better way to bypass that, than by having the food delivered to your home. I am grateful that Blind Faith's delicious food was delivered right to my home for me to enjoy, and will continue to order food for home delivery! more

The food was good. It did come a little cold though. The slice of vegan chocolate cake was large and really good (a little too sweet for me). I really can't complain though because it's pretty much the only place that has a variety of vegan options. more

Delivery via GrubHub is usually kinda slow, so plan accordingly -- although one time I got food in less than an hour! But seriously, Blind Faith has been doing vegetarian food a long time. Their staff can be a little wacky, but the food is usually great. So one nice thing about GrubHub is that you don't have to deal with them directly. If you're vegan , BE SURE to check all the ingredients and ask for subs. For example, the Santa Fe Salad (which is AWESOME and kinda worth the high price), is topped with seitan, but has dairy cheese on it. I wish they had a check box for all vegan preparation, but they don't. So you need to specify it in a text box. But so far, they've been good about reading and following special instructions there. All around, I can't complain about Blind Faith via GrubHub. It's a GREAT healthier take out option when you want to splurge or don't have time to cook. more

Food came nearly 45 minutes late and was cold. The estimated time was for an hour and a half for a delivery that is only 4 to 6 blocks from the resturant. If you are using a separate delivery service from the resturant and from Grub Hub that creates an opportunity for delay even if outsourcing keeps some of the personnel costs down. Oh well. Thanks JNP in Evanston more

I do not eat much by way of meat and I absolutely love this place! I have dined in multiple times (brunch is fab!) and I love the atmosphere and the food is just awesome. Their vegan chocolate cake is some of the best cake ever. My only complaint is that the service can be a little off. I am a server myself and so I know how difficult busy times can be. That being said, when you have a restaurant that is about 2/3 of the way empty I feel like it should not take over 20 minutes to get greeted by a server. When I ordered delivery though it was right on time and the food was still pretty hot! Overall, its a good place to eat. more

Great Vegetarian Food, Great Atmosphere 7/2/2008

I recently went to the Blind Faith Cafe and thought it was a wonderful experience. There was a short(Less than 10 minute) wait, but the hostess was constantly reassuring me that a table was almost ready. We aren't often able to find a lot of vegetarian food to eat, so the large menu was a relief. All items were vegetarian or vegan and compared to any restaurant in Pittsburgh, BFC had at least three times the amount of vegetarian options, We ordered a berry banana smoothie, I got the seitan quesadilla and my girlfriend ordered the pear and goat cheese salad. The food was delicious and well presented, much nicer than the name let on. The waitress was also extremely hospitable. I almost drowned with how often she refilled my glass of water, and she didn't mind at all when she brought out our dessert and my girlfriend said she was allergic to nuts and asked for something else. The vegan chocolate cake with raspberry was delicious! I would love to come back here, the only part that I didn't like about it was how far I had to travel from the loop to get here Pros: Large menu, food, service, desserts Cons: Distance from city more

Hands down the best vegetarian I've ever had!! Love, love love Blind Faith!! 4/21/2007

I have a difficult time understanding how anyone could give Blind Faith Cafe anything less that a 'Highly Recommended' review. I've been a vegetarian for almost ten years and find the food and the service at Blind Faith to be excellent. Living over an hour from Blind Faith, we usually go for special occasions or when we're in the area. We've been about ten times over the past three years. My favorite dish was the enchiladas which are delicious, but now I can't get enough of the mongolian stir fry. The chocolate peanut butter cake is TO DIE FOR! It's also great to try their specials of the day. My husband and I took our friend from Maryland who has been a vegetarian for over 25 years and a very picky eater. We picked him up from the airport and sped all the way to Blind Faith, hoping we'd make it before they closed. When we got there, they had already closed there dining area, but seated us anyway and we received absolutely expectional service for the next hour and a half. Our server never tried to rush us out; he was helpful and very friendly. The manager even came out and gave us all peanut butter chocolate cake on the house. My husband and our friend both had the special of the day which was a Honey Mustard seitan with veggies and purple mashed potaoes. It was absolutely delicious! I ate off their plates as much as I ate from my own. Now, everytime our friend comes to visit, we HAVE to eat at Blind Faith at least once during his visit. On his last visit, he took back a whole peanut butter cholocate cake! BLIND FAITH CAFE IS A MUST TRY!! I think you will love. The service is great, the food is out of this world! Almost forgot...YOU MUST TRY THE VEGGIE CRAB CAKES....YUMM!! Pros: variety, flavor, service, portion size more

one of the few vegetarian restaurants in the city 2/27/2007

This is my first message and to be honest, I moved from Austin where it is like vegan heaven and excited to find this place near campus. I am in graduate school so my money has to go a long way. My roommate and I both eat there and we both got totally different meals and we both got sick. I am talking sensational gas and diarreha. I will definitely go back next time I need a good cleanse...and not in a good way either. It is too bad that the owners of this place can't take their job more seriously. It is about peace and nutriution and if your employees do not feel the same way, then you should fire them or have them eat a piece of meat as their punishment. Pros: The concept is great Cons: The food is a laxative more

Good Vegetarian Food at an okay price. 1/24/2007

I would highly recommend to anyone anything on the breakfast menu. There are hearty portions and great homemade salsa for the chilaquiles (an egg or tofu, salsa, and tortilla dish). I heard that there is a new chef in town and it sounds like he is mixing it up a little bit. I saw some quiches in the self-serve side that looked amazing. Pros: Good veggie options, nice free magazine selection, awesome desserts Cons: A little pricey for having no meat, coffee is sometimes cold on self-serve side more

Vegan and Vegetarian Specialties 12/7/2006

This restaurant is one of my favorites! I enjoy the chocolate cake. I have to get two slices whenever I go. However, I have gained no weight from this, amazingly so. I love the food and it is definitely a restaurant I take my friends to for dining. I live on the South Side, but I commute to Evanston for the food. Everything on the meny is wonderful, no matter what you order. I personally do not care for the spicy foods, but everything else is defintely worth it. The service is world-class and the chef is often in the restaurant. The ambience is great as well. Qualtiy Quality Quality! Pros: Thumbs Up Cons: Thumbs Uo more

They take tips from your credit card without authorization 9/20/2006

Good food (Not the greatest, Quite expensive and they will help themselves to your credit card for tips should you pay with a credit card. I bought a salad and Rice combo and it came out to $19.18, quite expensive. Upon checking my bank statement the following day, Blind faith Cafe in Evanston helped themselves to an additional $5.00. This was a walk in and take out order. No service involved. Pros: Good Chile Cons: Dishonest cashiers, poor manners, highly expensive more

The food looked great... 5/30/2006

The food definitely LOOKED good. However, we werent able to find out about the taste firsthand because no one would serve us! We walked in parched, tired and hungry, after visiting the Evanston lakefront on a sweltering day. We stood for what seemed an eternity waiting to be seated as staff roamed about, blithely ignoring us. One waitress looked our way, then proceeded to chat up the folks at one of her tables. Two other guys stood behind a counter looking at us, but doing nothing. Another server walked past, never to reemerge. Were not going back. Pros: Great LOOKING food, Air conditioning Cons: Service more

The Worst Restaurant EVER 1/16/2006

I registered for citysearch so I could comment on this place. This was the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Ever. The food is terrible at this place--tasteless, bland, and extremely expensive. I paid $4 for a bowl of tomato soup that was worse than campbell's from the can. I used to be a vegetarian, and I love vegetables, but they have no idea how to use them. the tamales --the special--were so bland that I couldn't eat both. I talked to about 20 people who said the same thing--they'd been to the Blind Faith Cafe once and would never return. I agree. This restaurant sucks. We were there for probably 20 minutes after we finished eating, because our waiter disappeared, and then forgot to bring us our bill for another 10 minutes after we had him summoned. An utterly regrettable experience--I want my $25 back. Cons: Bad food, Bad service, Weird ambience more

Not Just for Vegetarians 8/20/2005

Though I'm not a vegetarian, I love Blind Faith Cafe. If you're willing to try new things, you'll be surprised by how flavorful the food is. They even have a wide variety of deserts! The service is always fast, friendly, and informed. Blind Faith is a healthful alternative to your everyday American cuisine. Pros: Healthy Food, Great Service, Lots of Options Cons: Location more

Why'd they move out of Chicago? 11/24/2002

The only bad thing I have to say about the Blind Faith is that they have no locations close to my house....it is worth the drive to Evanston though! Interesting vegetarian dishesand really yummy desserts! Pros: inexpensive, vegetarian, yummy! Cons: can be crowded on wee, far from my house more
