Kimberly has been cutting my hair for about twelve years, She is very professional, very freindly, and VERY VERY reasonable. Its nice walking in and saying high. sitting in the chair , and not having to explain how you want it cut. She already knows, I would Highly reccommend her to anyone. There is no one better. more

The best hair stylist in Indianapolis! 10/30/2008

I used to jump from hair salon to hair salon looking for the perfect stylist. That search ended the day I walked into Blades and sat down in Kimberly Smyrnis's chair. At the time, my hair was long, all one length and really very boring. I asked Kimberley for help. She turned my drab hair into something completely different. She added textured layers and both highlights and lowlights to my hair. I looked like a completely different person by the time she was done with me. I never knew my hair could look that good! My friends and family all noticed the difference too. Not only is Kimberly a talented stylist, but she has such a wonderful personality too. There was no awkward silence while she was doing my hair. There was plenty of chit-chat and lots of laughing...I've never had so much fun getting my hair done. Kimberly doesn't treat you like a ""client"". She treats you like a sister or a friend. That makes all the difference to me. I'd definitely recommend her to all my friends and family. more

I Love my Haircut!!! 10/30/2008

I went this week to Missy Cardenas @ Blades and I'm in LOVE with my cut. It was the first time I could go run eronds after a haircut and not have to go home to style my hair. She was just perfect in every way. I heard of her off of this site, and thought everyone should know, that all the reviews are dead on with her. KIMBERLY SMYRNIS.....SHE'S FIERCE!!! 10/28/2008

This girl is a MUST see! She listens, explains and turns you into a goddess. I have known her all my life and she never fails me! I have moved away from Indy but still breeze in to town to let the only stylist I trust style, color and cut my hair. I am a professional who is out in public everyday and I receive many compliments on my hair and the products I use to make it shiny and healthy looking. Yes, Kimberly has given me celebrity hair and the instructions to repeat the look! She is so fierce, I highly recommend her for her talent and bubbly personality. I promise you won't leave without feeling FIERCE yourself! Pros: Private Styling Room, Convenient Appointments, Awesome Colorist, Offers Amazing Advice Cons: A little off the beaten Path but worth it! more

great color experience 10/28/2008

Kimberly Smyrnis is an experienced stylist and color advisor. I am nearly grey all over, and didn't want the tired look that can go w/grey on former red-heads. So Kimberly has worked to keep me in a natural red w/highlights that I feel comfortable with, as well as a short, flattering cut. She will be honest if I ask for something that won't work well for me, and suggest possible changes that would. I enjoy her as a person as well as a professional. more

I highly recommened a certain stylist who works at this salon. Her name is Kimberly Smyrnis. Kimberly is 110% committed to customer satisfaction. She not only has a personality that will pull you out of your daily duldrum as soon as you arrive - she is also in expert in hair color and styling. I know a lot of other stylists call upon her for her technique. I have been there on more than 1 occassion when others have walked into her private room to ask for her advice! My hair color - accompanied by highlights and lowlights - have always been to more than my satisfaction. Did I mention stlyle? She is always right on target when it comes to the newest and greatest hair fashions. Kimberly constantly feeds her knowledge about the industry by continuing her education with upscale, state-of-the-art classes. I simply don't know what I would do without her expertise! more

KIMBERLY SMYRNIS for Blades Salon 10/25/2008

I used to be a Great Clips-er, or a Fiesta-er, or whatever cheapie haircut place I could find at the moment. I also was only getting my hair cut twice, MAYBE three times a year. . . until November of 2007, when I called Blades Salon and got an appointment with Kimberly Smyrnis. I was leaving for Arizona with my boyfriend in 2 days, and we were going to be seeing the dreaded Baby Mama. So of course I needed to look fabulous! All of my friends who promised to take me to a top salon bailed on me, so with time running out, I got frustrated and finally called Blades, which I passed every day on my way to and from work. They're located on Bash St, right off of 82nd, and I'd been eyeing the ""Voted Indy's #1 Salon"" banner they had for weeks, but was too chicken to go in my myself and, as I said before, had never paid more than $10 for a Great Clips cut. So I called and lucky me, Kimberly had had a cancellation that same night, and I was able to get in for a cut. When she was done with my hair, I didn't even recognize it! It was amazing! Technically she just trimmed and re-layered it, but I'm telling you, the difference was noticeable to EVERYONE, even when my hair was up! My hair now has life instead of looking dead all the time, and on top of being a ridiculously GREAT stylist, Kimberly's great to talk to AND she listens! She's cool, friendly, and fun, and I know that when I let her take the reins with my hair it's not going to look like dog poo when she's finished. I've been getting great, regular, cuts and color (which she is also very awesome with) for about a year now, and she does eyebrows too! #1 Hair Salon!!! Absolutely!!!! 10/23/2008

This was an excellent Salon I found by seeing someone with ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Hair !!! The color, the haircut. I wanted my hair to be that beautiful. So I called KIMBERLY SMYRNIS and she got me in. I was sooo nerveous and excited. I told her to do whatever she wanted. She loved my hair but enhanced all the colors. Made them bolder and shinier. it looks AMAZING!!!! The price was great to. She even did a condition treatment that made my hair fuller and bouncier Thank you sssssooooooo much Kimberly. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!! Don't ever quit!!! My favorite stylist! 10/23/2008

I knew Kimberly for a while, but I was having another friend do my hair. That friend couldn't get me in one day so I asked Kimberly to cut my hair. I loved it so much I made her my permanent stylist. I have loved every haircut I've gotten from her, and I trust her implicitly with color-her instincts are dead-on. My highlights are always exactly what I'm thinking of. Love her!!! When I moved to Indy a year ago I found Kimberly online at Blades. I was nervous about going to someone new for my color and cut but hey we all have to start somewhere. My first appointment I went in, I told Kimberly what I was looking for and told her to do what she thought would look good as far as the color. As she was doing what she does best, we totally got along great. She has not only become my hair designer but also a very dear friend of mine. When she was done I absolutely LOVED the color and cut that she did. I go to Kimberly every 7 weeks and she always gives me what I want.. I get compliments on my hair quite a bit so I always recommend my friends and clients to her.. She is fantastic..... Mandy more

A CLASS ACT ALL AROUND...... 10/20/2008

I have been above and beyond pleased with EVERYTHING Missy has done with my hair. I go every 7 weeks for lowlights and highlights and cut. She has never given me a bad style in the 12 years I have been to her. She does everyone in my neighborhood, and we all look different so she definately has variation in everything she does. She knows the time I have in the morning and the tools that I have to achieve the look that she gives me in the salon. Whenever she gets new products she always anxious to try them out on me and I'm always more than willing. Try her and you will just LOVE her!!!!! I have been having my hair cut at Blades for about 1 year now. I started seeing Missy because my former hair stylist had left her shop and I had been to 3 other ladies who just didn't ""cut it"". I had known Missy personally and decided to give it a shot. I will tell you....I am known to ve very particular about my hair and who cuts it. I have cried after and during many haircuts over the years. But.....Since going to MISSY C., I have never once cried!!! I am thrilled with the professional cut & treatment every time I am at the studio. Her opinions (when I am doubtful or confused with what to do with my hair) are honest and insightful. Also, I never wait more than 2-3 minutes for any appointment once I get to the shop. Each person makes their own appointments and has their own ""booth"" so you don't have to deal with anyone except your own stylist. I go happy to Missy, am happy while I'm there, and leave happy...how could you go wrong with an experience like that??!! I HIGHLY recommend Blades and MISSY C. Pros: Wait time (zero), friendliness of my stylist & others, great cut, parking never crowded, close to highways Cons: Wish it was closer to my home in Zionsville more

Simply the Best 10/19/2008

""Simply the Best"" sums up Missy! Missy has been styling my hair for at least the last 8 years or so. Will NEVER let anyone elso touch my hair! She really gets to know her clients and their lifestyle, so she knows what they want and what will work for them - what their personality is, how much time they have to do their hair, what their career is, etc. She makes fabulous suggestions and gives fabulous styles - even to those of us who chase kids all day and would live in a ponytail if it weren't for Missy! She's always on time, and is wonderful to talk to. Over the years, I've felt like more of a friend than a client. If you're searching for a new stylist (or even if you're not), I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with her! Pros: atmosphere, professional service, great personality, great style! more

My new stylist - Missy 10/17/2008

I had a terrible haircut from another Indianapolis salon. I called Blades hoping to find a new stylist and I DID! I had an appointment with Missy. Missy was on time, friendly and very professional. She gives an excellent shampoo, listens to what you want, makes recommendations and gives a great haircut. My hair looks great!! Carol Fishburn has brought my hair back to life! 10/12/2008

I highly recommend Carol Fishburn. For the first time in a very long time, my hair looks and feels healthy. She has corrected a disastrous style given to me by a prior salon; she has also corrected ""color"" issues --and my hair is very finicky when it comes to highlights and lowlights. She listens and truly understands my concerns about my hair -- then she cuts it, styles it and colors it as I hoped. I encourage you to call Carol. more

Always a compliment! 9/30/2008

You must use Carol. I have been going to Carol for over 15 years and not only does she give me great hair cuts, she stays on top of the new styles, by going to the hair shows and keeps up with the trends. She knows what my hair can do and what it won't do. I have people stop me and ask where I get my hair done as they love the cut and style and that has been going on for 15 years. Pros: Keep the interior up to date, changes all the time. EZ parking at door. more
