I called on a Thursday to reserve a pickup on that Saturday night from St. Helena to Yountville. I made a point to confirm the time and place because the man on the phone sounded like he wasn't paying attention. Sure enough, that Saturday no car shows up. I call Black Tie, and the same man answers. At first he denies having a reservation for that time, and then he sees it. He says he can send someone out in fifteen to twenty minutes and hangs up without an apology. We had a dinner reservation and if we hadn't lucked into a driver from Valley Valet, we wouldn't have made it. When I called back to cancel the Black Tie car, whoever picks up the phone had no idea what I was talking about anyway. TERRIBLE! more

Great Taxi Service 5/8/2008

My family has used Black Tie at various times with excellent results. When my wife and I we out of town we set up an account so our son could get back and forth to school while we we gone. It worked like a charm.Today they brought me home after having surgery. I managed to leave my cell phone in the taxi. The driver, a very nice young lady, brought it back when she got off work. I would rate them very highly. Price has always seemed fair. Pros: Great service and fair price. more

Watch Out! These guys are crooks! 12/13/2007

My wife and I took Black Tie from the Harvest Inn in St. Helena to the Martini House, 1 mile away last month. The driver wanted $40 for a 5 minute drive! After negotiating that this would include a round trip back to our hotel after dinner, we agreed. After waiting 45 minutes after we called for a pick up, he demanded another $40, or he would call the police! Do not hire this company if you don't want to be ""taken for a ride""! Pros: Nice automobile Cons: Total rip off outfit. Driver confirmed double charge with dispatch. Beware! more
