Very Pleased! 1/1/2009

My wife and friends went for New Year's Eve last night and we were very pleased. She had read some not so glowing reviews on here lately about a Chef change but we were thrilled. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. The stuffed quail was probably my favorite thing of the night. I think the dessert was my wifes favorite. This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and it certainly lived up to our expectations! Pros: Food and Service Cons: It was really busy but it was New Year's Eve more

New chef is a winner! 12/3/2008

I recently went to bistro 64 with a group of friends for a night out on the town. WOW! The service was great and the food was AMAZING! The two bartenders were some of the best I have had and really know how to make a drink. I loved the live music although at times it was a little loud. I would have to disagree with anyone who says that this restaurant is missing out due to the absence of their old chef. The last time I ate their all the plates looks like horseshoes with only the meat eaten and all the other stuff on the plate left behind. The salsas and potatoes were the same with every dish no matter whether you ordered fish chicken or steak. However, the new menu boast different choices with each dish and let me tell you they are delicious. The salmon is to die for and the chicken my wife had is equally as good. The only insult that this new menu gives to the old chef is that there was obviously a lack of creativity to his dishes. This new chef is amazing! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, and as long as things stay as high quality as they were this time I will continue to return. Pros: everything Cons: all the negative publicity this place doesnt deserve more

BISTRO 64 do not bother, waste of $$ 12/1/2008

BISTRO 64 Fans no more. 11/8/2008

Loyal Fans of Chef Alan, We were extremely disappointed to find out that He is no longer with the restaurant: by Our waitress.! We had called to find out the specials two nights earlier but were unable to come that night. When We did show up We were seated promptly and given our menus. This is when We discovered Chef Batson has gone. The menu is a re-write of many of Chef's dishes, not original. Many of Our favorites have gone with Chef Alan. Our disappointment was just beginning ! The specials were recited by Our server and were THE SAME as two nights earlier, definitely not fresh!!! Pros: None anymore Cons: food more

Where did Chef Alan Batson go?????????????? 11/6/2008

It's still good but just not the same as before... Does anyone know where Chef Alan went? I only ate at Bistro 64 for his food. Hopefully he is still in the area. Anyone have any ideas? more

New Chef Breathes New Life into Bistro 64 11/3/2008

Having read the other recent reviews, I can't help but wonder if these reviewers have actually eaten at the Bistro since new chef Brad Marsteller took over. My partner and I ate there the other night and found ourselves in a culinary paradise, so unlike the other fine dining restaurants we frequent in Cary and Raleigh. more

Average food, great service 11/1/2008

Bistro 64 was highly recommended for their fine food but we were disappointed. The salad seemed to have been made the day before and the fish was not at all fresh. However, the service was great and the manager was very friendly and happy to let us change our dinner after it was served. His service was great but did not make up for the poor quality of the food. more

Disappointed Diners & Fans 10/20/2008

Our Chef is gone !! Just ain't the same 10/18/2008

Fans of Chef Batson and have followed for years. Pros: decent service Cons: food, stuffy & $$$$$$$$$ more

Lost Chef, expensive OK? Will not return, Sorry !!! 10/18/2008

Obviously last review written by employee or Owner. Pros: Service Cons: Food, No Chef Allan, decor, expensive $$$$$ more

Still excellent 10/16/2008

No drop in quality of food or service since the departure of the Chef. New Chef is as great as the original. Matt and Brad are excellent behind the bar. Will is an attentive owner and would never let the quality of food or service be compromised. We will continue to return on a regular basis and highly recommend this restaurant. You can not place a price on good food and a comfortable atmosphere. We completely disagree with the negative reviews of others. There are not many choices in Cary for this quality of restaurant. Bistro 64 continues to be one of the best. Pros: food and service more

VERY EXPENSIVE, TERRIBLE SERVICE, LOST CHEF 10/15/2008
