I was admittedly a little leery about going to Billy's after reading the reviews, but we wanted stone crab, and we wanted close, so we tried it. The parking attendant was charming and the hostess was accommodating. We had a glider table outside. Our server was very polite up until we made our order, and I think it became apparent we weren't going to be a high-dollar table, so she didn't seem as warm/friendly after we ordered, and there wasn't communication across the wait staff that one of us didn't want ice in the water. Atmosphere by the water was pretty nice, although we pulled the curtain closed on one side because the green lantern light was blinding one of our party members. The stone crab was beautifully presented, and the conch fritters were good, as was the side of asparagus we ordered. I'd say all in all it was a good experience, albeit a little overpriced. Had our hostess' hospitality extended into the evening further, I think we would've been even more pleased. more

Great Food and Fun Times! 10/25/2010

My wife and I had the opportunity to meet an old friend couple at Billy’s Stone Crab Restaurant. We are both seafood lovers and our dinner could not have been better.\r \r I had Grouper Key West, Nancy went for the Stone Crab claws. Both dishes tasted super fresh, the server friendly and timely. Surprisingly we did not have to wait, despite the amount of guests in the dining room. \r \r Our friends who are Billy’s regulars, called in for a preferred window seating. That was surely the cherry on top: a really pleasant time, watching the Intra-coastal evening boat parade from a unique vantage point. Nancy and I frequently dine at Joe’s, but next time we crave fresh seafood most likely with take a short trip up North to Billy’s. more

Good stone crab. Over priced, looks like the place is stuck in the 70's. You'll notice a bad smell once you walk through the door - clean it up... more

  • Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant is known far and wide nationally and internationally as one of THE best seafood restaurant & market in the Ft. Lauderdale area. And for a good reason. Billy's two story fine dining seafood restaurant, is accessible both by elevator and stairs and has floor to ceiling captivating views of the Intracoastal Water Way in the main elegant dining room. The sunset is magnificent. And at night, when the draw bridge of Hollywood Boulevard is illuminated and the lights change colors, the view is quite spectacular, making the restaurant a preferred city spot.
