As a longtime Louisiana transplant in Atlanta, I decided to go in search of the ""Holy Grail""....The Shrimp PoBoy.\r
\r
I started with the last place that I had a good one, The French Quarter Food Shop, in midtown. Of course they had long since closed, along with The Stein Club, the last normal bar in Atlanta.\r
\r
I found the old location, and did some more investigating.\r
\r
These guys are in Chamblee, now, in a neat old house, just behind Eugenia's Antique Hardware Store, along the Marta tracks near old Town Chamblee on American Industrial Way.\r
\r
They moved around Mother's Day are are trying to get the word out.\r
\r
Bingo! I felt a rush as I pulled into the parking lot. \r
\r
I had a Shrimp PoBoy, with a side of Red Beans and a Cup of Gumbo. The Bread was Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, great remoulade sauce, crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes and fresh fried shrimp. Perfect Combo. The Gumbo was great, and the Red Beans were just fine.\r
\r
As a Bonus they served Luzianne Iced Tea, which I think is the best.\r
\r
The menu looked more than interesting, from Old Standards to gourmet cajun entrees. Can't wait to try other items.\r
\r
Fair Pricing, personable staff, and a great in town location. I am tired of all of the standard Atlanta Chain Restaurants, and like an alternative to a Burrito or Burger.\r
\r
It was a bit of a Hunt, but I like a challenge and was determined to find that darn Po-Boy! You can be assured, that when the Privat Family of Chefs is involved, your food will be great!
Pros: Casual Atmosphere , Authentic Cajun, good place to hang out with friends
