Friendly but spectacularly expensive 5/4/2009

I have been going to Bethany for years. Had no idea how much more expensive they are than other area vets until my recent visit. Two shots and a quick exam- plus a peek under the microscope to determine what the lump on my dog's leg was- and there was no definitive answer to that question so why even look?- required almost 200 dollars My request for the estimate of having my dog spayed and remove the small growth on the leg resulted in two estimates- if I chose to simply remove the growth it would be nearly a thousand dollars- but the amazing discount of approximately 200 dollars was given if I spayed simultaneously. This was explained as a "discount package". Average spay for my dog costs $275- after I called area vets for the estimate. I am also insulted by the frequent "add-ons" of services that seem to be necessary for pet owners. If I want a microchip I will ask. There is no reason to do multiple blood tests on healthy animals. Also, to charge me 20 dollars for a toenail clip that takes less than a minute is monumentally wrong. I love my pets and take care of them- but it can be done for much less. more

expensive and not well versed 12/10/2008

way over priced, and when I asked why to give my cat the very expensive perscription science diet, the vet could not tell me what it was in the food that helped my cat. The lack of education is evident for a very expensive fee. more

Good for exotics, but very expensive 9/11/2005

Bethany Animal Hospital is very knowledgeable about exotic pets. Vets who really know exotics like ferrets are hard to find, so if you are looking for a good exotics vet, this is your place. For cats and dogs though, you can probably find vet care that is just as good for much better prices. Try Prairie View. While I realize you can't put a price on your pet's health, I also don't think their medical care should cost a fortune. more

Animal/Pet Clinic 8/10/2005

Bethany Animal Hospital has been in business well over 30 years. They have several veterinarians on staff who have expertise in a variety of animals. They provide routine animal care and emergency care. The wait before being assisted is minimal. Service is professional. They also board animals for a fee. They do have Science Diet available for purchase as well as a few other supplies. more

Here at Bethany ANimal Hospital you can be assured your pets with be in the hands of excellant caregivers. The staff here is so nice and caring. The doctors are great here. They are not that expensive for the yearly maintance that your pet requires. The building is in a nice location also. more
