Store can't communicate 7/2/2010

Very disappointed in Best Buy. I am aware though that as a corporate giant they could care less if a customer is unhappy. I called to pre order the iphone 4. Was put on hold for a long time. Then I was told that I could come down and order one. I asked if I could use Gift Cards. Put on hold for over 5 minutes and then a new person came on to ask why I was holding. Then that person said that yes I can use the gift cards. I drove from the opposite end of town to order the phone. Then the person working phones said no I can not. That it was suspended at 10am. I said I just called (it was 1pm). They said they can't do anything about it. The girl who told me they were in stock acted like it was news to her and no one told her int he morning meeting they were sold out. She took my name and told me she'd let me know when I can order it. Well no one has ever called. At least they could have helped a dissatisfied customer out and let her know what was going on. No show 6/1/2010

Best Buy had run an advertisement for a special edition Alice in Wonderland release with free gift at 12:01 am. The website said the Tracy store was participating. Calling the Reward Zone said the store was participating. Calling the store directly an employee said the store was participating. I arranged and paid for a babysitter. I drove 40 miles (each way, 80 mile round trip). I accepted the fact that staying up late would reduce my sleep prior to working at 8 am that morning. Several other people were in the parking lot, but no employees. The store never opened and I left empty handed, out money for babysitter I didn't need, out money for gas, I didn't need to expend, and out sleep I require for my following day activities. I am very disappointed with this particular store and inept manager. more

@Dale K, First off, hard drives DO crash all the time. I wouldn't go insulting someone because of your inability to fix a computer yourself, not to mention to back up all of your stuff the first time like you should have been. Additionally, with your first time system crash, can you believe that your garbage HP computer actually might just be defective from the production line? Holy smokes, it's a revelation! Go buy a Mac, apparently Windows is too complicated for you to handle. Idiot. @Jennifer B, Seriously, there's this wonderful thing called "spellcheck". You should try it some time. "Exsperiance"? Are you for real? Go back to 3rd grade English! Also, stock numbers fluctuate constantly and a computer isn't always going to be correct. Shame on you for not asking them to visibly verify that they had a Playstation before driving there, but shame on them for not offering to check in the first place. HP Geek squad 7/11/2008

I recently purchased the hp with the Quad Core 6GB and had the Geek Squad optimize the System for me, they also transferred the data from my old computer to this system. At the first boot the system crashed, nice work. I returned the system to them with the external hard drive which had the backup of the old system on it, they replaced the computer, but when they tried to transfer the data the external hard drive crashed loosing all of my data, this was not their fault the manager told me hard drives crash all the time he was sorry that I had lost all of my data but there was nothing he could do about it. Go GEEK Squad, my opinion is that these people should go back to the circus and stay away from computers as they obviously lack the technical skills needed to do the job. I would advise anyone purchasing a computer at Best Buy to say away from these idiots more
