Food is delish!

I must say, it is a treat when my family and I go to Bengal tiger for our family dinners. They have been very caring the service has always been excellent. However our recent trip...

Fantastic Food, Great service! 4/7/2008

I am a new fan of this place. I have been 5 times in the past month. Their food has so much flavor and they always listen when you tell them how spicy you want your dishes. The butter chicken, tikki masala, and rogan josh are incredible. Their naan bread is perfection (especially garlic). They have always been super friendly and have great customer service ever since our first visit. My only complaint would be that they don't always use the best quality of chicken meat for their dishes. But it still tastes good and I still eat every bite. The prices are reasonable and comparible to what you would find at othe indian restaurants around seattle. To sum it up, I love Bengal Tiger! more

hearth and home 3/30/2008

i've become a regular - partly cuz its conveniently close by where i live - but also cuz its a pleasant place with good food - especially since theyve brightened up the decor - surprising what a positive effect that has on dining --- i frequently take in the all you can eat buffet which always has east indias greatest contribution to the world cuisine - tandoori chicken - and generally includes a moist lamb choice and a tasty eggplant choice that I like alot --- but - i must say that the dinner - where i can pick from the large menu selection - is an even better experience - of course it seems more personal that way --- this thriving restaurant has been here a long time - theres a reason for that more

Best Lunch in the entire city 3/27/2008

I don't say that lightly. For $7.95 you get the best buffet in the entire city. This is seriously good East Indian Food - and it's only $7.95. I get a couple plates at lunch - one will do most people fine. Great food. High quality ingredients and preparation. I don't know how they do it. Really a treat! Pros: best value I've seen in the city Cons: Not exactly in the heart of the city more

Good Stuff 3/19/2008

When i travelled to Seattle from out of town i did some research on the net for some good indian food. I saw some good reviews for Bengal Tiger and decided to visit the place for dinner. I must saw that i was very happy that i decided to come here. The owner is very gracious and took time and helped be with the order. I was happy to note that he also allowed me to make some changes in the dishes per my liking :-) Overall the menu is good the food is tasty and flavourful. I loved the Soup, Fish appetizer, bread was hot and soft, the Samosa's were excellent with the 3 different chutney's provided. I found the lamb to be a little tough for my liking. Overall a sumptious & pleasing meal. Would recommend this place for nice Samosa's Fish & breads. The service was ok and it could improve although the owner really makes its a point to make sure you are taken care off. Make sure you let them know the level of spice for your liking. Pros: Excellent appetizers, tasteful curries, nice breads, Gracious owner Cons: Staff service can improve, Interiors are dull can be made brighter more

THE BEST! 1/20/2008

This place has got to have some of the best Indian food in Seattle. Service is great and the owner does come by to say hello. You will not be dissapointed! more

Best Indian Food 1/13/2008

Muhammad is amazing! He is gracious, generous and warm. He treats us like a part of his family! By the second time we came in to his restaurant he knew both of our names. ""Eric.....Heather"" he says. ""Welcome back. Nice to see you."" What a pleasure to go to a restaurant that truly cares and respects there customers. You won't find another place like this one! The Mango Walla and the Lamb Saag are stellar! The Samosa plate is wonderful! His chutneys are unbelievable. I wish I could eat there every day. There isn't a bad item on the menu. Every choice is a win! The thought of any one of Muhammad dishes makes my mouth water. Magnifique! We love him! His staff is always on the move. They all work as a team to make sure every little detail of your dining experience has been taken care of. You will never have an empty glass of water in this restaurant! Everyone is so friendly, efficient and eager to please. To top it off, Bengal Tiger is one of the few family friendly places to eat in Seattle. It is also one of the only places that my 4yr old will eat. I have never had better Indian food than Bengal Tiger. I refuse to go to another Indian restaurant. When you've found perfection, why stray. Thank you Bengal Tiger. You're the best! Pros: The Service, Muhammad and Mango Walla Cons: I eat to much! more

Best Indian Food in Seattle 1/8/2008

Muhammed is a legend. As the creator of the various walas, he deserves a place in Seattle lore, along with Tom Douglas, Sean Kemp, and Edgar Martinez.\r \r The mango and garlic walas are the best Indian dishes I've ever had. The samosas are also aces. Sag paneer and mulligatawny soup are delicious.\r \r You really should go to the Bengal Tiger. Right now. See you there. Pros: Delicious food, good service, Muhammed Cons: I always eat too much more

NWSource's top pick 1/5/2008

I?ve been to many Indian Restaurants around Seattle area. Bengal Tiger so far has been my favorite. They won the ww w nwsource com best Indian Cousin contest twice for 2006 and 07. What I like the most about Bengal Tiger is that they use fresh vegetables. Most other restaurants use frozen vegetables. I have many favorite dishes from their menu. I like their mussels and the Buhna curry the most. Also their Mango curry is very good as well. I have been also very pleased with their service. Very friendly stuff. I can go on and on. Great ambiance. Looks like they just remodeled their place. Truely a must try place. Pros: 2 thumbs up Cons: They keep running out of my favorte dessert, ""Rasmalai"" more

First time I've really enjoyed Indian food 12/14/2007

I've had Indian food a few different times before and had never cared for it...but my boyfriend and I decided to go to Bengal Tiger and it was so good! When I mentioned the restaurant to my friend the next night, she had told me it was her favorite Indian food place. So when my friend and I went to BT for dinner (which was my 2nd time in a week after I discovered it) Muhammed introduced himself. He seems so sweet. He told us next time we come in, we'll have to ask for him and he'll make us a dish that isn't on the menu. I'm excited! I'll definitely be telling my friends about BT. more

Great Buffet a restaurant with integrity 11/23/2007

Newly renovated this restaurant used to be as dark as a cave and has now come into the light. The result is a light and airy restaurant with what you could call a friendly decor. Looks can be deceiving however that is not the case in this restaurant. The food is very fine. Spicing interesting and always consistently good. In fact I have never chosen a dish (and there is a lot of variation on the menu) which is not fine and interestingly spiced. For value you can try the buffet which is 7.95 on weekdays and 8.95 on weekends at noon. This is a great treat and features a good variety of some of their very good dishes. Also now they have a 14.95 evening buffet on Monday and Tuesday with an elite selection of food. I have not tried it yet but it seems to be a very wise choice for dinner and allows you to sample some of the more exotic dishes. This one I believe is even a better value. \r \r I must confess I have found the least expensive great meal hybrid. From the bengal tiger the naan (cauliflower) and the three dips that come with it. And then I go the QFC just above and get a piece of\r fried chicken breast (2.29) and I have a great meal for under 6.50. However for a just a little more the\r Saag Wala is an incredible dish for any bargain hunter and I highly recommend it. Well that is\r all I have to say today. Please drop by. I am William and you can find me at Teddy's around the corner watching sports.\r \r William Pros: Spicing price and great personal service. Cons: Parking can be a little challenging more

""Bengal Tiger"" has replaced my beloved ""Sahib"" in Edmonds 11/22/2007

I found this place after my long-time favorite curry place up in Edmonds, ""Sahib,"" was unexpectedly closed down last summer due to rent overload. Nearly suicidal with ""curry withdrawal syndrome,"" I got on the Web and searched for other Indian places which might help satisfy my curry addiction. I tried a few other places but, compared to my beloved ""Sahib"" (which was superb, btw) they left me cold. Then I came here to BT in summer of '07 and haven't bothered looking for any other curry place. I can really only comment on the lunch buffet, as that is the only thing I'm interested in. The food is very good - tasty, spicy, good variety, authentic, filling - the price is right, and the comfortable coziness of the place just feels so ""right on."" They've remodeled and redecorated, and it's even nicer now than when I first came here. I like how the basmati rice is always cooked to a nice plumpness - never dry or hard like in other places. I like how the vegetables and potatoes are cooked to perfection (I hate undercooked potatoes!). The meats are always tender, and there is always enough daily variety amongst the dishes and sauces to make it worth eating here every single day of the week. I even ate here last night - Thanksgiving dinner, 2007 - and they had a whole turkey cooked in mango curry sauce! The booth tables are very comfortable, they have new glass/silverware, and a beautiful marble-edged hot-table for the buffet. The bathroom is very clean/brightly lighted, and the sink even has real hot water! BTW, to the critic who found ""foreign objects"" in his food, he probably found remnants of hard spices, e.g. a piece of cinnamon stick or cardomom pod. Hey, it happens. And they've put a divider up by the entry door, so there should be no problem with cold drafts blowing on anyone's table or food. Also, I've never found it to be overly warm in the place. My only complaint is that the aforementioned ""Sahib"" buffet included free chai, mango mousse, and fresh fruit slices. Pros: Food, friendliness of staff, coziness, decor, bathrooms Cons: Nothing really, just that it's a long drive from Edmonds! more

Best Indian food around 11/16/2007

There really is no middle ground in seattle for Indian food, either it's great or it's awful. Out of the handful of places around seattle that are actually good Bengal Tiger is my favorite. My girlfriend and I eat there at least once a week and have always had nothing but a stellar experience. The owner is one of the nicest guys ever, the food is consistently excellent and it is better then taste of India by far. They truly value their customers and frequently do anything to make them happy. Do yourself a favor and travel 5 blocks north instead of going to Taste of India for once, you won't regret it! Also, if your weary on indian food try their new buffet on Monday and Tuesdays after 5, the owner will happily come out and walk you through the foods, how their made and ensure your happy! Pros: Best indian food around, Insanely nice weight staff more

No need to go anywhere else! 10/27/2007

I am surprised by some of the reviews that give Bengal Tiger less than 5 stars. Maybe those people went to the restaurant on an off-night, but that has NEVER happened to us. When we lived in Green Lake, before we moved to Tacoma, we ate here every Friday night. I have eaten Indian all over the U.S. and this place is by far the BEST out there. Muhammed, the owner, is the nicest man around and he's an incredible cook. The Naan is perfect every time and the Chicken Tikka Masala and Prawn Garlic Walla are incredibly flavorful! The service is always fast and the staff is very friendly. Now that we live south, we drive up once a month from Tacoma to eat here. Taste of India has nothing on this place! There is no need to eat anywhere else. more

Best Indian food on planet Earth 10/14/2007

Bengal Tiger is by far the most consistently excellent Indian food around. We are always seated promptly, always greeted with smiles, and above all the food is flavorful and delicious. Very, very vegetarian friendly. Ambience is also great with a relaxed atmosphere and usually some good ?ol traditional tavla and sitar on the speakers.\r The Navrattan Korma, Mango Wala, (vegetarian) Tikka Masala, Vegetable Jalfrezie, Paratha and Naan all exceed the normal ?above-average? Indian food. We?ve probably had quite a few more items but those stick out as particularly good.\r I should note that my girlfriend tries the paratha at every Indian restaurant we go to, and this is her favorite of all-time (very flaky, buttery and light).\r If you had enough time to go to one restaurant in Seattle I would say go to Bengal Tiger (then if you?ve got time straight to Mighty-O?s). Pros: Incredible food, friendly service, reliable, easy parking Cons: sometimes a bit slow, but worth the wait! more

Amazing! 1/22/2007

I love Bengal Tiger! I've been going there for 6 years now, and their food and service are still amazing. Anything that ends in wala is delicious, but then, everything I've tried there is wonderful. Don't forget the nan for dipping! The only word of caution is that if you order a meat dish, it will not have any vegetables. I usually order a veggie dish because of this, or split a meat and a veggie dish with someone. Either way, this place is hard to beat! Pros: so very tasty Cons: meat dishes are meat only more

Love This Place! 6/3/2006

My husband and I recently moved to Green Lake from out of state and we love Indian Food. We tried a couple of places that were disappointing and then we found the Bengal Tiger. What a find!! Every dish we've had here is wonderful, the staff is very friendly and the service is always great. My favorites are their Chicken Tikka Masala and Eggplant Bharta but you really can't go wrong. We will be lifelong patrons of this restaurant! Pros: Flavorful Food, Friendly Service, Chicken Tikka Masala more
