Neigh to the Sweet Potato Hash, Yay to Ambiance 6/4/2011

I went to Benedict's today for the first time. My first impression was ""wow, this is a quaint place."" It decor and feel was as if i had just walked into a friends house. The hostess seated us right away, and accommodated our request to sit by the tree. My 16 month old daughter was delighted by it. Our waitress, was patient in us figuring out what we wanted, even though at first she seemed frazzled. i was surprised to see that the prices where different on their on-line menu then there actual menu, and was a little disappointed by that. We decided to order the ""Just one Egg"" for my daughter, which consisted of an egg (however you want it), two breakfast sausages or bacon, 1/2 of an English Muffin, and breakfast potatoes; all for $3.50 and i ordered the Sweet Potato Hash and Eggs Benedict. Which came with a whole English muffin and a cup of fresh fruit, for $7.45. For drink we ordered the Strawberry Orange Juice for 2.95. The orange juice was okay, a little overpriced, but my daughter loved it. My daughters breakfast she practically devoured. She was really happy with her food, and I manged to try her breakfast potatoes and they were yum. My meal on the other hand, I did not like. The hash was not seasoned and was pretty much diced squash and some sweet potatoes. I thought it would be like hash browns, but using sweet potatoes instead. i was disappointed in that. My daughter liked it though. The eggs i had asked for well poached, and they were runny. The fruit was really good, and fresh. And the English muffin was well toasted and buttered. Overall, i will try them again, but not order the Sweet Potato Hash (which was really Squash). The menu seems to have alot of potential yummy foods. The ambiance was great. And my daughter really enjoyed it. more

Lunch is over NOW leave 3/26/2011

A client and I had lunch at Benedict's yesterday. The food was very good, the price was a little high-ice tea, diet coke, grilled cheese and a tuna melt $22 and the service was bad. Our server was a younger lady who was not friendly nor attentive. Our order was correct and delivered quickly. My beverage was empty for over 5 minutes and we were never checked on. Once we asked our server for a refill and additional ice, it took a few minutes and we were never asked again. After lunch my client and I had to work on a few details together. We were reviewing a document when our server rudely told us that they closed at 2 and it was after 2. There was not a quick, we are closing however, we are going to clean up/set up around you so if you can finish up in the next 5 to 10 minutes that would be great. We felt, now that we have your money-GET OUT! The horrible thing was that we were almost done and would have left in a few minutes anyway. I can tell you the service overruled the food and I will never return. By the way, we would have been happy to move to the bench near the front door or the car to complete our conversation allowing their team to do their job. It was the presentation and the servers approach and rude attitude that was not appreciated or acceptable. I understand people wanted to leave their jobs for the day but this was rude. more

FAVE NEW BREAKFAST SPOT 12/29/2008

My husband and I ate at Benedicts yesterday and it was amazing. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and only waited a few mins. The service was friendly and the food was to die for! I had the Benedicts ala Risotto and it was sooooooo good. The risotto cakes were creamy and warm and the asparagus gave it a fresh taste that was wonderful. My husband had the crab cakes benedict and loved his as well. This is our new fave breakfast spot, in fact, we've decided to try to go every Sunday so we can try everything on the menu! more

great service and even better food 1/26/2008

My husband and I visited Benedict's this morning and we loved it! I am a big fan of Eggs Benedict and this was the best that I've had in awhile. My husband liked his Huevos Rancheros. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. This is our new favorite breakfast spot!! more

Pros: parking service value friendlyness and soo much more Cons: only open for breakfast and lunch more

Every-Day to Gourmet, Wonderful Breakfast Food! 6/16/2005

Benedict's prides itself on affordable gourmet breakfast food, but it also has excellent lunch salads and sandwiches, as well as more ""every-day"" offerings. In terms of affordable, most gourmet omelets and frittatas are around $7 and include bread and country potatoes. The Gorgonzola and wild mushroom omelet is awesome, as is the crab and avocado omelet I recently had as a special. I also suggest the sticky bun, the fresh squeezed orange juice and mimosas, or one of the many frittatas. The country potatoes are great and they arent greasy in the least. Benedicts also brews and sells its own blend of Intelligentsia coffee. The decor and scene is country charm mixed with the bustle of the suburbs. The wait staff is generally friendly and attentive. There is always a wait on the weekend, but its once youve experienced Benedicts, youll see why its well worth it! Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly, Diverse Menu Cons: Sometimes a Long Wait, Crowded Parking more
