7/1/2014\r We have been taking our Mastiff to Bend Pet Resort for the past year - twice for kenneling and weekly for doggy day care - and we are very pleased with all aspects of the facility. We find the staff to be very dog friendly, very knowledgeable about dog care and feel that they truly have the dogs best interest in mind. Our Mastiff is beside himself with excitement each time we drop him off for daycare that he literally jumps out of the car to play with his friends. We feel totally comfortable leaving him for a week or so while we are vacationing knowing that he will not only be well cared for but that he will get the pets & hugs that are so important especially to a growing puppy. \r Thank you Bend Pet Resort! more

Do not take your dogs here!! It is filthy and smells. It is obvious they don't pay any attention to your dogs even though you pay for these playtimes daily. Our dogs were a mess (both physically and emotionally) when we picked them up. We were not allowed to view the kenneling area-red flag!! One of our dogs needed emergency surgery from an infected anal gland within days of picking him up after staying here for 8 days. This tells me they weren't let out often enough to bathroom regularly. I am new to the area and made the mistake of reserving this place solely based on our vets recommendation. I dropped them off on my way to the airport and didn't feel good about it. After picking them up in the condition they were and the owner brought our dogs to our car so we couldn't go inside I regretted taking them to this facility. It is so bad I will probably change vets because if he recommends this place what kind of vet is he....... more

Not sure what to think 5/3/2011

The first time we boarded our two dogs with BPR, we were quite satisfied. However, this most recent time, our dogs came back a complete wreck. We've worked so hard to leash train them so they won't pull, but for weeks after we picked them up from BPR, they acted like they' d never even seen a leash before. They both began soiling the house, despite never having had an accident before. One of our dogs contracted kennel cough even though all the dogs staying at BPR are supposed to be vaccinated against it (and our dog was). I really don't know what to think. I was very happy with BPR the first time we left our dogs in their care, but after this last experience and after reading some of the reviews (especially the one written by an ex-employee who said the dogs often do not actually receive their supervised playtimes and walks even though the owners pay for them), I'm not sure I want to trust them with my dogs anymore. more

A very nice Kennel in quiet location with a nice owner 2/10/2011

On background,, I have a very nice show quality samoyed female that I bring to this kennel. I have made several trips to Bend specifically to take advantage of the expert care at this Kennel. My girl has stayed well over a week at a time and over weekends. After consultation with my breeder and discussions with several handlers I decided this was the place to bring to bring my show samoyed. From personal experience this has proved to be a good decision. I have never been disappointed. The owner is very knowledgeable, takes great care of my show girl and is a supremely good handler. I have watched with a close eye how all the pets under his care receive equally good care. I appreciate what I see. In addition, the grooming here is amazing and I have a breed that requires a lot of it. I personally went to Nationals and observed the owner show and watched the owner handle with the best of this breed and he is one of the best in a very demanding and competitive setting. I have found that the customer service here is honest and direct and a good value. I want to thank everyone at Bend Pet Resort for providing a really nice place for me to bring my favorite show girl, for the good service and terrific care. Clarence more

Find another option 12/1/2010

This place was highly recommended by a friend, and I've used them probably 4 times in the last 3 years. After the 2nd or 3rd visit, I noticed a healing wound on one of my dogs legs that wasn't brought to my attention when I picked him up. Either they didn't know about it (then why am I paying them?) or they did know and didn't tell me. I chalked it up to my dog being active and maybe they just missed it-- it wasn't a major injury. But then, the last time, when I picked my dogs up, one had urinated on her bedding so it had to be washed (to their credit, they washed it), but that NEVER happens. Ever. That dog would explode before she would urinate inside, unless she had absolutely no choice. What that tells me is that she was left inside far, far too long. But even worse was one of my other dogs, who had a very obvious (could not be missed) puncture wound on the top of his head. They told me they cleaned it with iodine (they specifically said "the red stuff"), which I know wasn' more

Great Place! 7/20/2010

I always take my two dogs to Bend Pet Resort; they LOVE it there. The service has always been excellent. Pros: Always feel my dogs have fun there, and are well taken care Cons: A little pricy (the extra activities), but worth it more

DON'T EVEN THINK LEAVING YOUR ANIMALS HERE! 7/10/2010

We were going to the coast for a few days and Bend Pet Resort (BPR) was recommended to me by a friend as I needed to house my dog for 3 days. I was told my elderly dog-aggressive Dobie-Mix dog would be walked, played with, etc. They NEVER TOOK HIM OUT OF THE CAGE! When I picked him up HIS TOENAILS WERE TORN OFF and the PADS OF HIS PAWS WERE RIPPED TO SHREDS from his trying to get out of & through the chain-link fenced cage. Cons: Dog left in cage for 3 days! more

Poor customer service 6/30/2010

We had been excited to board our dogs at the Bend Pet Resort when we went to visit family in Bend for the 4th of July weekend; however, we ended up cancelling our trip to Bend. We notified the owners 2.5 weeks in advance. \r \r Originally it sounded like we would get a partial refund (we paid by check). We later were told that there would be a $25 charge per dog to cancel with the balance being left on account. If we had charged it, we would have been able to dispute the charge (lesson learned). Their website has no posted cancelation policy.\r \r I tried to explain my disappointment to the owner in an email. I said that I would feel obligated to post a review and tell my friends and family in Bend to avoid using the Bend Pet Resort. Ken accused me of "threatening" his company, and informed me that he didn't even have to give me a credit for future visits.\r \r I don't mind the cancelation fee that much. I just don't see how keeping the rest of the money with almost 3 weeks notice is justifi more

Wonderful groomer!!! 1/15/2010

The groomer at bpr has been grooming for over 10 years and is very knowledgable even when you don't know what kind of cut you dog needs. She was great, my westie, and shihtzu mix both loved her instantly. this was the fort time they ever loved being at the groomers. They looked better then they ever have and they are 6 plus years old. They liked the grooming so much I checked into bording for my last trip out of town they stayed in a suiet in the office area witch had a t.v. and nice bed they had a great time and were groomed again when we picked them up. The girls love BPR so much and I love the staff I can't imagine leaveing them any where else. I will never have them groomed any where else. They look like new dogs. Pros: Can't say enough about how great the grooming is!!!! more

Not the best 11/15/2009

I did not enjoy the people who were working the front desk, not very good at their customer service. Seemed a bit lack luster. The facilities seemed like they could be cleaner. I wasn't sure if my dog got a lot of attention like the pet resort claims. They seemed a little understaffed. Pros: nice setting Cons: poor customer service/facilities more

Re: Bend Pet Resort = Wonderful 8/10/2009

I would like to know how the "owner's new wife" knows that the ex wife and her husband are leaving the negative reviews. If I were the ex wife and husband I would ask to see the proof before "the new wife" gets sued for slander. more

Bend Pet Resort = Wonderful 8/8/2009

By far the best facility I have ever been to. The facility is BEAUTIFUL... The staff is attentive and really knows the dogs, my shy dog went right up to them and doesnt usually do that. I have been there twice now and they are wonderful. The owners new wife explained to us that the ex-wife and her husband are the ones bashing them on the internet using different names. That is rude, but I will tell you that my dog loved it and I will be back again for sure. more

Bend Pet Resort Llc is a bad, bad thing... 7/13/2009

We won't ever use this kennel again. The owner, Ken, has very poor people skills (and his dog skills are likely worse). Their pricing is very misleading. Your pup also won't get the attention it should or let out as often as it should. Our dog, who is normally happy-go-lucky, acted scared when we picked her up. Not a good experience. I advise to stay away. more

Big promises Little follow through RATE A ZERO. 5/1/2009

This resort claims it's luxurious and fully interactive when in all truth the owner is just trying to make a fast buck. Don't board your pets at Bend Pet Resort if you care about the health of your pet. They get far less attention than the owner promises. The conditions are not always clean. Quantity of paying customers over the quality of service provided. Smaller better in home care options are available. Kindred Spirits or Happy tails. Pros: Outdoor landscape Cons: Little time spent with pets, Quantity over quality more

Won't be back 3/24/2009

This is the second time we've boarded our dog w/ Bend Pet Resort... our first experience was fine. Good enough for us to consider them again 2 years later when we vacationed again in Bend. But this time I got slapped w/ a $20 fee for not canceling a reservation I'd supposedly made 2 years ago! (I don't recall making this reservation... we only get to Bend twice a year as it is and I don't know why I would have been there twice in one month... they never called to follow up at the time... and they never sent me a bill.) So... this last time instead of the $60 bill I was expecting I'm charged $85 with no itemized explanation. I had to call back and was told I'd signed for it and was SOL. Then... I'd specifically requested the red dot be removed from my dogs account as she is not an aggresive dog. I'd made this request over the phone and in person yet it never got changed. I pick up my dog only to find she's been in isolation for the last 3 days! NOT WHAT I PAID FOR! The whole point was to provide her with a change of scenery and the opportunity to socialize with other dogs. If I'd known she would have been locked up by herself I would have left her at home with the neighbor for free. Not only am I unhappy with their poor business practices, unclear rules, lack of internal communication and a website that lacks a lot of information, but I stewed over it all weekend in essence ruining my vacation. I will not be back and don't recommend them to anyone. Pros: convenient location for boarding Cons: bad business practices, poor listeners, more
