Wow... Talk about a review out of SHEER anger or hate. You obviously have a strong dislike towards either the store owner or someone that works there. For starters, keep your snot-nosed children by your side, they sound like they were obviously raised wrong and don't know how to keep their hands to themselves. I would have said something to you too if I was the owner! Then to call Howard rude is simply out of line. I've known Howard for 20 years, and have NEVER heard him say a rude word, except the time they caught a guy trying to steal 2 model airplanes when I was there. \r \r In fact, I was just there 2 days ago to buy a ready to fly airplane. Howard answered the 4 questions I had, and guaranteed the product. I've also purchased train accessories in the past as well without any problems. His store is successful for a reason, he is a helpful person and his prices are very reasonable. more

I too have been in this store many times & have always found the owner to be very pleasant. I also took 2 of my grandchildren (10 & 6) in to the store to"look" around. They found it a fascinating place. I had no problem with the owner because they kept their hands to themselves & only picked up what they were interested in. What they did not want they immediately put back where they found it. Maybe if "rude, rude, rude" had better control over her children she would not have had any problems. I seriously doubt that they need her business - they have been, successfully, in Amherst a very long time. more

I've been in the store with my now 4 year old son alot,I dont let him touch anything! There's alot of expensive merchandice in the store.YOU BRAKE IT YOU BUY IT! I dont want to buy 300 dollar fish tank becouse I wasn't watching my child.If you cant manage your 2 children in public,STAY HOME OR GO TO WALL-MART where parants arnt expeced to watch there kids! If you went to other hobby stores you would see that his merchandice is not overpriced.You can't go to another store in a 20 mile radius and find model semi's,sherman tanks,space ships, rc cars,fish or trains! As for rudeness,Ive bought alot of things from him and he's always ben polite and the whole staff are helpfull.Maby you forgot to remove your name tag that said B@#$H more

I was in this store this afternoon with my two sons that are 12 and 6. The old man is VERY RUDE. He followed us around too and acted as if my kids were going to steal something or were a bother to him. I said something to the man about being so rude and he told me that I shouldn?t bring my kids in the store. I COULD NOT believe it. He said well I should not let them pick up stuff and put it all over the store. Sure my kids were looking at stuff and they may not have put everything they touched back but they are children and I was doing my best to make sure that they were putting the stuff back. It is not as if I was letting them run all over the store and be unruly. They are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and if he does not want to deal with the public then he should close his doors. I hope this jerk runs the store out of business. I had made the comment to my kids right when we went in the store that we were there just to look - and he told me that I shouldn?t have come in if I was more

A quiet spot in Amhert, you wouldn't even know this place is a pet store. I went there for fish and wasn't disappointed. The fish are in the basement - what a selection. The staff is helpful, too. Helped pick the perfect tank for my 3 year old. Avoid the chains, go here. more
