Bell repaired a water leak in the lines to my hot water heater but overcharged me! 5/4/2018

Bell satisfactorily replaced a leaky line to my hot water heater but I was charged way too much $639 for a job which took less than an hour. When I called the office to complain the charge had already been put on my crisis card which I gave for the sole purpose of a $49 service call and they were not willing to either negotiate a lower charge or justify the high charge. They simply said its a flat rate and I had no re course since it had already been put on my credit card. I further got a written estimate for the same job from a reputable plumbing company for $349 almost $300 lower! I view all of this as an unethical business practice and would not recommend this company which at one time was very good and fair! more

rediculous pricing 2/2/2018

My 26 year old daughter is a new homeowner and needed a repair for her shower. The problem was diagnosed as needing a new pressure balanced valve cartridge. The part cost approximately $40. She was charged $622 on a bill your company refused to itemize. The technician was there for less than one hour. That means she was charged over $500 per hour in labor. This seems completely unreasonable. We called to inquire about the bill and were told it was her fault for agreeing to the work and that there were many costs like trucks and warranties that need to be accounted for in business. I would really like an explanation on this and how this is at all reasonable or reputable. I am so disappointed. more

I had a technician come out to troubleshoot my boiler....I paid 125$ to be told it needed "a sensor" and another $960 in labor. He would not give any more information. When I called his supervisor to complain I was told that even though I had paid for the information I wouldn't be given anything specific so that I couldn't have "Handy Manny" come out and fix it. When I questioned the cost of $960 for an estimated 3 hours of labor I was told that it wasn't an hourly wage and I had to factor in their "overhead" including what they pay their secretary to answer the phone. I don't consider this to be professional. I paid for a service and then was basically told that the service would only be partially performed so as to force me to use their overpriced services and that I shouldn't make any noise about it, because you know, they gotta keep the lights on and I should just know I have to help pay for their electric bill. NO thank you. more

Got us out of a jam 12/17/2017

Our kitchen faucet was not working and we could not fix it. We contacted Bell, went in and bought a new faucet and Richard Peterson came and installed it. Going a week without a kitchen faucet seemed like an eternity. Richard was patient and answered many questions we had. He showed us what he was doing and why. We appreciate the service and the price was reasonable. more

Do Not Use 11/21/2017

I called them because my furnace went out early afternoon. I had come home early from work because my wife and I had a meeting later that evening. My parents were coming over to watch our two 9 month old twins and there was no way I could leave the house cold all night until I could get to home depot the next day to make the repair. The thermocouple on our boiler seems to need to be replaced every one or two years but it is a ten dollar part and a 30 minute repair that I have done myself. Bell came over and spent 30 minutes on the repair and $10 on the part and then handed my parents a bill for $600! I work in the construction and real estate industry and I understand that plumbers are highly skilled and their labor is expensive, but there is now way to justify this bill! Having a furnace go out in the winter is a life and safety issue, and they should not take advantage and price gouge customers that don't have a choice to wait until the next day to make the repair. I called the company and emailed them wanting to speak to the owner about the pricing, as I was hoping to discuss the issue rather than resorting to writing a negative public review. It has now been 2 weeks since I have asked to discuss the bill and there has been no response. Save yourself and your money, you will most likely be better off calling anyone but Bell. Judging from the other reviews, mine was not an isolated experience and they obviously don't care to discuss problems with customers once they have their money. more

Our journeyman plumber, Jim Womack, was outstanding -- professional, neat, efficient, with understandable explanations, and personable. Would not hesitate to use Bell again in the future, and have used them for many different services in the past. more

Disappointed 10/19/2017

I initially intended to replace two tub faucets with a different style. I was advised this could not be done, so existing units were repaired. One continued to leak, necessitating a whole new unit at more expense. A different tech coming that time said sure, style could be changed, and did so. So, I ended up paying double for what I could have just done the first time. Your prices are outrageous. I will never recommend you. I am still angry. more

Vendors either are not honest with Bell OR they simply don't do their job and thus leave Bell customers in the lurch. Nonetheless getting what you need on time does NOT happen with Bell. What a great experience 9/15/2017

From scheduling my appointment with Karen to Chuck showing up early, and I really appreciated Bell sending pictures of Karen, DJ and Chuck. This was the best experience I've had with service repairs in years! Chuck made the repairs within 40 minutes and kept us entertained the whole time. If you need a lift during your day, ask for Chuck. My husband wanted a company that would be a round in case we had future problems with this repair. If this is important to you this is the company. I will happily use Bell again. more
