We have used Bed's n Biscuits a few times now, but after the last incident, won't be back.
We typically travel with our dogs, so we only need boarding for business trips or air travel. They seemed full and reputable with the information we could dig up on them and they were recommended by a woman we see often at the dog park, so even though they wouldn't let us tour the dog area (said it caused the dogs to be disturbed and often led to fighting because of their need to protect or seeking attention) we decided to give it a try.
The first 2 times we use them for only one of our dogs. He was very happy to get there, seemed happy to ""get his play on"" and easily left us in the lobby. They had him bathed when we picked him up and sent a report card with positive remarks each time. Things seemed fine. We felt more comfortable to then leave our 2nd dog on the third stay (he's a more cautious dog)... however we had to practically *drag* the first dog in this time... Getting out of the car he was fine, bounding up to the door, but the minute we opened the door he FREAKED out and hid under the bench sitting near the door. After several minutes of coaxing and a lot of spinning and crying we finally got him through the door. Our second dog (the cautious one who had never been there) didn't seem disturbed by his reaction and was ready to go play.... so we made a HUGE mistake and left them.
After a week, upon picking them up - they were fresh out of the bath, had positive report cards BUT OMG were they ready to leave. It took the staff a long time in the back to retrieve the dogs and when they saw us, they DARTED to the door. We almost lost our arms getting them out the door. Because of their rush, we didn't have time to examine them but when we got into the car it was clear the first dog had sustained an injury at some point while there. He had a deep wound under his right eye, which required vet care and his ears were bruised. We called to see if we could find out how he got along with the other dogs, if maybe there was a problem, but they said they knew nothing of it and that he had done fine. I explained that this injury was probably a day old (since the blood which WOULD have been present based upon the depth of the injury, had stopped flowing and been washed from his hair with the bath) but they said nothing.
It took MONTHS for the poor dog to recover from *whatever* happened in that place the last 2 times. We will most definitely never go back.
Pros: Clean office, friendly staff, easy bookings
Cons: Unaware caretakers, LOTS of barking, too much kennel time
