i had installed out of there for a long time. beckys brother arnie buys these remnant packages at discounted prices. the remnant might be 12 foot wide by 22 feet long and he paid around $3 for it and charging $300. they get them everyone once in a while. i have done alot of jobs where in those were missing the backing and i was told to put it in still. chances are if its shredding there might not be a backing. yes beckys do have 2nds and 3rds. if they deny it they are lying i personally put in a remnant with a vent hole cut out it was like that when the customer bought it. those are sold as it so they are not responsible if something goes wrong they and everyone blames installers. which some installers are bad one put in a remnant vinyl piece knowing there was a flaw, a blue line down it that wasnt supposed to be there, he put it in anyways and when they called to complain he tells them if they want to pay him to rip it out pay for a new piece and pay him to do the work again he would fix it. real nice the same day you have a new bathroom floor put in. they actually have 1 installer that had been training for 3 or 4 months and couldnt do seams stretch the carpet right and cant make it have that finished look and never did anything but carpet for 3 months out on his own because of the guy that wont take care of customers. so in conclusion avoid them at all costs unless you know an installer who can go with you to look at materials and see if there is any flaws which if you look hard enough you will. and never get berber carpet with a pattern there because they are seconds the pattern never lines up. more

I purchased carpet from this store on 8/2008 the carpet has began to shred and I was told that they will not honor the warranty as they no longer carry this carpet. I would never suggest anyone to go to this company. Wish we could give negative stars. Cons: Does not stand behind the product they sell more

I wasted $1300 on carpet that lasted 5 months. They refuse to stand behind their work or product. Not a member of the BBB and refuse to return calls. Liars and cheats. Pros: Absolutely no pros Cons: Horrible work, customer service, and product more

Becky's Carpet and Tile is a complete scam. I worked there for almost a year and was fired for giving back a $50 deposit a customer left on some junky defective hardwood. I knew it was against policy, but I felt it was the right thing to do. All of the products are cheap and defective, thats why they get so many complaints. When a customer does call and complain they tell them ""you should not have bought cheap carpet"", they really don't care. I found out that the sales people are not empowered to do anything beneficial for the customer. I think they have 60 complaints with the Better B usiness B ureau. The District manager is usually hammered drunk by noon and will not hesitate to cuss a customer out. The ads are deceptive as well and one time the FBI or some other government agency came to make them stop running it. The advertised ""inventory blowout"" sale price is the same price all year long. Be smart, don't buy from Becky's and don't leave a deposit unless you are sure you want that junk in your house. Cons: poor products, poor installation, poor management more

My experience with Becky's Carpet and Tile was one I want to try to forget. We moved to the area almost 2 years ago and bought an older home. We replaced all of the carpet in our 3200 square foot home and our kitchen flooring.We decided to use Becky's. The staff in the O'Fallon IL store were great. They really spent alot of time to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. The problem is, the carpet bunched up in every room after only one year and the seams are ripping apart. Our kitchen floor had large bubbles in it, and when I called them 2 weeks later and then several months later they told me it was normal and that with time the bubbles would disappear.The bubbles never went away! The bunching of the carpet is what you may see after 15-20 years, not one year! We spent alot of money and expected the job to be done right the first time. The manager at the O'Fallon IL store refused to return my calls and instead had the receptionist tell me that it was too late for them to request that the contractor they sent to us, fix it. This says alot about the service they provide for their customers. Since they seem to be the leading carpet store in the area, we thought for sure they would have someone out in no time to stretch the carpet and fix the seams. We are a military family, and we are in contact every year with hundreds of families who move into the area and buy houses. When they ask about carpet, we specifically tell them not to go to Becky's. In my calculation, that sure is alot of money they may have received if they only had enough integrity to do right by us. I will not be able to have my carpet cleaned until it is stretched and the seams are fixed. I will have to spend alot of extra money to hire a contractor to come out and fix what Becky's contractor never did right the first time. I am currently searching for a corporate office to file a formal complaint, but have not had much luck. I will use Lowes for my new foyer flooring, they stand behind wk more
