I had a really terrible experience with these guys. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they ignored my claim. The BBB suggested I try small claims court. Keep that ...

Beacon Hill Plumbing - Great 12/27/2010

Many thanks to Beacon Hill Plumbing for saving my toilet. I had diagnosed the problem - correctly it turns out - and the plumber came quickly and fixed it forthwith. He also did notice a faulty other part and replaced that at well. He was tidy (put on shoe covers and wiped up), respectful and quick. Thank you Beacon Hill Plumbing! more

Wonderful Experience 8/1/2010

I had a wonderful experience with Beacon Hill Plumbing and now recommend them to all of my friends. My husband and I were expecting our first baby so we needed to install a washer and dryer in a closet in our condo. I called 5 different plumbers to come and give estimates for the project. Beacon Hill Plumbing came in with a very competitive estimate and also seemed the most knowledgeable about this type of project so we decided to go with them. The job was, what I would consider, a very complicated job. They had to cut into the main pipe (which is a really, really big pipe) and make it bend around two tight corners from the bathroom into the closet. They also had to take two additional pipes from the same area and do the same thing. The spaces they had to work in were tight and it was a hot summer day. I was home working on the nursery for the whole day while they were working. The plumbers (one was George) showed up on time, lugged their VERY heavy tools up five flights of stairs without a complaint and got right to work. They worked for 4 hours straight with absolutely no breaks, went and grabbed lunch and some more parts for no more than an hour, and then came back and worked another 4 hours straight. I was SO impressed with how hard and consistently they worked, especially with how hot it was and how cramped the working spaces were. When the job was finished they tidied everything up, showed me how to work my new washer hookups and gave me the itemized bill. The final bill actually came in less than what they had estimated!! I was so impressed that they actually only charged me for the number of hours it took to complete the job and the parts and they didn't just write me a bill for what they had estimated. To me, that is a VERY clear sign that they are a very honest business! Our son is now 4 months old and out washer and dryer (and of course all the pipes) work beautifully! Pros: Competitive Pricing, Highly Skilled more

Weird, Nasty Owner & Sloppy Service 6/7/2010

I had a really terrible experience with these guys. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they ignored my claim. The BBB suggested I try small claims court. Keep that in mind if you have similar problems with them. I had them here to re-do some repairs they'd done earlier and which failed again. The next day, the toilet broke. The owner never told me they charge emergency rates for Sat. service ? not all plumbers do. I told the owner TWICE about exactly which part we needed, but the plumber showed up without it and had to charge me an hour of time and half anyway ? even though he couldn't do anything. So I had to wait for another visit on Monday. When he came, I had him fix some other stuff during his 30-minute visit since it was going to cost me $300 to fix a $15 Toto toilet flapper at this point. He left a mess of elastic cords scattered in corners all over my bathroom, didn't clean them up. I didn't know until I found my kitten choking, with one halfway down its throat. When I called to find out about the elastic, the owner was incredibly rude and hung up on me. I assure you I was calm and polite because I needed info about the amount of elastic to tell my vet, in case my kitten needed X-rays. The plumbers are halfway decent, although they are sloppy, and you may need them back to fix things a second time. But the owner is crazy (I guess he's old; I'm no spring chicken either, so I know that's no excuse for nastiness). Even the plumbers roll their eyes about him. Trust me, you don't want to deal with him! Pros: Will hang up on you if you call politely w/ legit complaint Cons: They charge you extra when they make mistakes more
