Terrible Service and Parts Rust 5/4/2012

Took my car in May 2011 for a brake job Pads and Rotors $500+. I went here because they sponsored one of kids local sports teams what a BIG mistake.\r \r Within six months my rotors had warped to the point where it felt as though my wheel was going to shake off the car. I took the car back in they Himmed and hawed and finaly replaced my rotors. Now before I keep going let me say the Materials they use are sub-par not only because they warped but because they Rust and Rust and Rust like nothing Ive seen covering my Rims in an orange dust daily. When I compained they told me all aftermarket rotors rust.\r \r Three months after that I felt a grinding sound coming from my wheels I took it back into Beacon and this time they told me I would need new calipers front and back another $300+ so by this point In in $800+ for brakes. They replaced my calipers I latter found out did not replace my pads though. You can guess what the calipers did Yep that's right Rusted and Rusted and Rusted creating even more rust dust for my Rims.\r \r Three months after that took my car back in bacuse there was a squeeking noise they told me my pads had worn to the warning level. Are you kidding me $800+ in and only 11 months and my Pads were worn out. They told me I was past my 1 year warrantly. Let me say I drive almost all highway miles. \r \r Needless to say I did not have them replace my pads. Dont walk but RUN away from this place they have inconsistant managment never the same person in the shop so always dealing with someone new and their materials are sub-par for the price they charge. Just Horrible! more

THEY CAN FIX ANYTHING! 6/3/2009

Before visiting Beacon Brake Service, I always dreaded having repairs done! As a woman who knows very little about cars, getting taken advantage of was a very real concern for me. \r \r I visited several other shops who had no idea what was wrong with my car and quoted huge estimates that I could never have afforded. Then, I visited Beacon Brake. There, they immediately identified my problem and fixed it for cheaper than the other places. Now, my car is problem free!\r \r I would definitely recommend Beacon Brake Service! Pros: Honesty, Fair Prices, Support a Local Small Business more

Great Job 5/13/2009

the work that was done was finished as promised\r and the price was as quoted when complete.\r We had a good feeling about shopping here as\r cars today are quite different then when us older \r generation grew up with and always expect the \r worst when repairs are needed.....good job guy's... Pros: on time as promised more

Watch out for unauthorized work!!! 8/9/2007

We took our Chevy Trailblazer in for rear brakes. Our quoted price over the telehone was $169. We dropped it off and than received a call at home that the repairs were going to be over $800. I called back to cancel the work but they said it was too late because they had already started working on the front brakes. I had already replaced the front brakes myself just one week before. I told them not to do anything else and that I would pick the truck up immediately. We ended up paying $360.88 for front brakes that we didn't want done. I bought new brakepads and rotors at Murray's and will finish the job myself for less than $150.00.\r I would never go back there again. I wasn't given a written estimate and I think they purposely mislead. I intend to pursue other remedies. Cons: Ripoff artists-Bad location, right at corner of Ecorse & Allen- Limited parking. more

Honest! 9/8/2006

I've been going to this place for my brakes for 15 years. The ownership changed recently, but it's still the great place it has always been. They are not the cheapest, but that is because they use top quality parts and do a job that will last. I generally go 4 to 5 years between visits! Too bad all automotive repair places are not the same. Pros: Great people, great service! more
