Very Disappointed. 4/17/2011

We had a disappointing and uncomfortable stay in this hotel. The main problem was ventilation and a very bad smell in our room, kind of a mix of moldy and old smoke. This was in a non-smoking room. It made my throat burn and my chest ache. The air conditioner was not good enough to overcome the odor, ---the breakfast was not good, very stale and no frills, the staff seemed so unhappy and unfriendly! Not a place where you would want to stay if you are on a trip that should be relaxing. more

We were more than satisfied with the room for what we paid. Being across the street from the beach was not a problem at all. We did not have the best view being that we were not on the beachside of the hotel, but it was no problem more

NOT on Beach / Dirty Old Building 4/4/2011

This worn out old hotel is actually across a busy road from the hotels that are truly "beachside". Some mildew was in the tiny bathroom and the carpet and other furnishings were very old and smelled bad. The "workers" seemed like they would rather smoke in front of the hotel and talk to each other than take care of guests. We fell for internet ad, and after checking around, we learned that you can get a much better hotel in Gulf Shores in the same price range. more

Good Value 3/29/2011

This hotel is clean and well-kept. The desk staff were very polite. There was a small amount of mold on the shower curtain, but overall the room was clean and comfortable. This was my second stay here and the quality has been consistent. The location is close enough to the beach to be easily doable, and the savings are worth the 5 minute walk! Overall, I'd say it's a very good value for the money, and I plan to stay there again next summer. more

Minor glitches but overall really nice 3/22/2011

I was pretty satisfied with my stay after we got checked in. They were not sure if the room was clean an I had to wait, an when we got in the room we had lights in the bathroom and the ac worked. As soon as I called down stairs they sent someone up to see what was going on and I guess cleaning lady i guess had hit the reset button on the hair dryer and it had cut the lights off, but other than that the stay was nice. more

Very Rude Lobby Woman / Bad Manager 3/18/2011

Brandy, the short haired woman at the lobby desk is extremely rude. Neither she nor the manager could seem to understand that when a customer calls from a "non-smoking" room that has ASHTRAYS in it and REEKS of cigarette smoke, the proper response is to apologize and try to make it right. Instead, she denied that our room smelled like a dive bar and my wife, who is allergic to smoke, would have reason to want another room. Then, after promising us a 10% discount at one point and 20% discount at another, this same manager charged us full price and made us feel like it was our fault that THEY SCREWED UP. Can't believe a manager is this poor and an employee is this rude. Unbelievable. Please look elsewhere even if you have to pay a little more more

Excellent Location 3/9/2011

The room was clean and we had an excellent location. We were right over the pool and could see the beach. I really enjoyed the restaurant at the hotel. Ted and his crew were great. We really enjoyed our stay and we received a great rate. I would definately visit this hotel again. The only negative thing was that housekeeping was late and they did not leave enough wash cloths. more

Short stay 2/28/2011

We were looking for a low priced hotel for the area and this hotel was reasonably price for the location. It was across the road from the beach. The room was okay for a short stay. The room was not cleaned daily but it was comfortable enough for what we needed. We were on the fifth floor and had a nice view of the beach and swimming pool, which is located on the 3rd floor. more

Quiet Stay 2/23/2011

The elevator on the end of the hotel we were staying on was broken. But considering the weekend and the off season, we were assured it was being fixed. No special amenities, just quiet comfort. more

Hotel room were very clean 2/14/2011

The room we stayed in did have some problems. The tube had a weak spot in it and shower curtian rod was loose from wall. But overall a nice room. more

Overall it was not bad for the price but during peak season. The room was Ok. A/C worked great and it was fairly clean.Checkout was much nicer. more

It's not a 5 star resort, but it's well worth the money. Great location, and a pretty good bar and patio resurant downstairs. The kids loved the pool on the 3rd floor deck!! more

This isn't the Hilton on the beach but for a decent price we were able to get away from the everyday life and relax. Excellent location from the beach and places to eat and shop. more
