Beachside Resort Hotel

I am extremely sad to say my wedding ring was stolen from my room during our stay at the Beachside Resort. I made a police report and the maintenance man being the only one on duty assured me and the police officer he would do everything in his power to look over security cameras and get to the bottom of it. I never got a phone call the next day so I went to the hotel to find out that the maintenance man did not work that day and never came in. I finally got to speak to a manger who informed me there was nothing he was going to do for me. Not even help me figure out who entered our room. I asked to look over security cameras and he told me the camera was not working by my room. I asked for a refund since we had paid our trip in full and had to leave the hotel early due to feeling unsafe. I got no refund, apology, and no help trying to find who entered my room. Besides my most precious valuable being stolen from our room the hotel is falling apart. It is cheap for a reason. The first night we got moved to a different room because our heat did not work. The next room was even worse. Filthy and very moldy musky smell. The toilet was running so my husband lifted the lid and there was black mold all around the top of the toilet. No coffee pot, safe, ice machine, or manager on duty in the evening. I really want to spread the word of this hotel so no one has to go through what I did. We were in Alabama and felt like we were in a third world country. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

This was the worst experience that my family has ever had. Our beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The room smelled like it had not been cleaned in months. The towels were small and worn out and felt like sandpaper. The carpets were so nasty. They agreed to give us another room but it was worse!!!. We had to get our money back and move to a different place. There rates were low but it not worth saving the little extra money we had to pay. PLEASE NEVER STAY HERE. more

The worst hotel I've stayed in in years. Yes, it's gross and way past outdated. Furniture was worn beyond belief. A good hotel would have thrown it away years ago. I couldn't get the smell off me for days, and our clothes smelled like smoke days later after they were hanging in our ""non-smoking"" room. And the staff is just plain rude, guess they think southern hospitality is a thing of the past. There are lots of hotels in the area that are a better value for the money. I strongly suggest you find one of them. more

Someone told me once that ""good things are seldom cheap and cheap things are seldom good"". They were right. We tried to save a dollar and ended up in this horrible old hotel. The room smelled ""musty"" and carpet looked and felt dirty. There was mildew in the bathroom and the commode didn't flush completely. Yuck! We tried to move to another room but they wouldn't let us. The staff is UNCARING AND RUDE. We asked for a manager, but were told by a grumpy woman in the lobby that a manager wasn't there. MANY other choices on the beach, do not waste your time here!! I think the positive comments were written by STAFF! This hotel is HORRIBLE AND IN OLD, BAD SHAPE! more

Great price because it's actually across the street from the beach, but the 3rd floor pool has a nice view of the gulf. The bed had a very comfortable mattress. I would definately stay there again! more

The location was ok, across the road from the beach. Don't expect good view, unless you like seeing parking lots and traffic. My husband and I were not too happy with our room. We had clean towels when we checked in, but the carpet, bedspread, drapes, and other surfaces all had the look, feel, and smell of years of heavy use by smoking guests. The sign outside the room had a no smoking symbol, but I guess this policy is not enforced like in better hotels. The workers seemed more concerned with talking to each other and taking smoke breaks in the front of the lobby than taking care of guests. We will shop around next year and sure we can do better. more

My husband and I took a short trip to Gulf Shores, AL. The hotel staff was very courteous and accomadating, and the room was very nice with a great view. more

This place is really old and is on the other side of a busy road from the beach. Don't know how they get away calling it ""Beachside"". Seems close to false advertising. Outside was kind of dirty and inside room was old such as worn out carpet, bathroom fixtures and bad mattress. Some mildew and commode didn't work properly in the tiny bathroom. They're not a friendly staff, very surprising for a hotel. You can find lots of better places in same price range. I won't go back. more

We enjoyed our stay and thought the hotel was a great value. The beach was a quick walk across the street. Service at the front desk was friendly and quick. more

Stuart, you must have run into the same employee who was rude to us. We recall she had short hair and smoked a lot. Can't believe they would put someone like this in front of customers. As bad as she was, our room was worse. Our toilet didn't work right (wouldn't flush all the way), the sofa was worn out. It and the carpet were very dirty. The whole place needs to be torn down and one particular employee needs to go back to the trailer park where she can smoke and complain without bothering people on vacation. more

We had a miserable night there because they can't decide what a ""non-smoking"" room is. Hint, you don't put ashtrays in them. When we called to complain that our ""non-smoking"" room reeked of smoke, the rude woman said she couldn't help us as we were already in a ""non-smoking"" room and if we didn't like it, we should go to another hotel. Since it was late on a Saturday evening, we toughed it out. The next day, the manager refused to apologize to us. He offered a discount, then, a few minutes later when we checked out, he would not give it to us. Unbelievable! We will never go back to this place, where they don't know what ""non-smoking"" means, are extremely rude, and don't keep their promises. more

My grandson and I really enjoyed our stay. It was everything we needed. We really enjoyed the music and singing in the lounge. It was very conveniently located. Would definitely stay again. Thanks! more

The restaurant downstairs had great food and drinks! The pool has a nice view of the beach. more

This hotel was much cheaper than the ones across the street. So for 100$ less we walked the extra 200yards.. LOL It was a very nice hotel, the staff was accommodating. The pool was nice, on Friday nights the restaurant down stairs has a live band. It was fun to sit by the pool listening to the music, and once we went into our room which was almost directly above we didn't hear it anymore. Neat! more

I was pretty satisfied with my stay after we got checked in. They were not sure if the room was clean an I had to wait, an when we got in the room we had lights in the bathroom and the ac worked. As soon as I called down stairs they sent someone up to see what was going on and I guess cleaning lady i guess had hit the reset button on the hair dryer and it had cut the lights off, but other than that the stay was nice. more

We were looking for a low priced hotel for the area and this hotel was reasonably price for the location. It was across the road from the beach. The room was okay for a short stay. The room was not cleaned daily but it was comfortable enough for what we needed. We were on the fifth floor and had a nice view of the beach and swimming pool, which is located on the 3rd floor. more

The elevator on the end of the hotel we were staying on was broken. But considering the weekend and the off season, we were assured it was being fixed. No special amenities, just quiet comfort. more

The room we stayed in did have some problems. The tube had a weak spot in it and shower curtian rod was loose from wall. But overall a nice room. more

Clean, but not spotless. Comfortable. Great Location. Cheap Rates. All-in-all a good hotel at a cheap price. Would definitely stay there again. more
