Dr. Michalska is so kind, knowledgeable, accessible, educated, experienced, and professional, that I wish she was an internal medicine practitioner so that I could see her for my coughs and colds as well as for my Reiter's disease. There must be a reason that she has such a huge patient load, Mr. or Ms. bewareofthisdoctor, and methinks you have an agenda for your very unkind and untrue review. more

She is a gift. ...and to correct a previous reviewer, Dr M left Rush because she was tired of the sexism and unprofessionalism and incompetence of the others in that office. Pros: proactive and knowledgeable; spends ample time w/ you and treats you as a person, not a number. Cons: sometimes the wait is a bit long, but well worth it. more

I was actually quite nervous when initially visiting Dr. Michalska. I had researched her on the web for quite some time as I was looking for a physician that was familiar with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Upon actually meeting Dr. Michalska, I found her to be an extremely genuine person. Yes, she is upfront with facts and tells it like-it-is, but that is something I fully respect. I hardly want to be coddled - I want to be given an honest answer with following details and recommendations...she gave me everything I wanted and explained various aspects of Ehlers-Danlos of which I was never aware. She is quite forethright and I can see how some people may find this detracting; I, on the other hand, seek it out because, to me, it lets me know that someone is a human being with morals, standards and a backbone.\r \r Dr. Michalska deals with a roster of several hundred, regular patients and her time is hardly her own. Her follow-up to my appointment was a little lacking and I can understand the reasons behind. A simple telephone call resolved everything. Rheumatology patients beware of Margaret Michalska, M.D., Medical Director of Rheumatology at 3000 North Halsted Street, Suite 409, Chicago, IL 60657\r \r Her real name should be Dr. Jekyl and Mrs. Hyde. She had to leave RUSH because she couldn't get along with the administration, so she set up shop at Advocate Illinois Masonic. This is not a criticism of the medical center, but it is unfortunate for them that she is affiliated with their name. more
