Best

I am in love with this place. A true LA bookstore.

Worst

Although these theatres are fancy with plush seats they have made an embarressment of their employees. They force them to wear overdone costumes with hats that only an organ grind...

Elegance 7/23/2002

This entertainment center is magnificent! Movie theater, shops, restaurants, all in one location. Not to mention the beautiful water fountain in the center of the plaza. It's a must see! Pros: Variety, Vibrant, Clean Cons: Traffic more

Wonderful.. 7/23/2002

What a lovely place to see a show! It is clean, cozy and completely spacious. more

The Groovy Grove 7/20/2002

The Grove at The Farmers Market is one of the best and newest hang out spot for all kinds of people and the Pacific Theatre attracts people from all over, especially with itz beautiful interior design that looks like it wus modeled after the beverly hills hotel. and it is cool because you see the employess dressed in bell hop uniforms. Plus the theatre is huge and spacious, and they have great customer service. Pros: Beautiful Location, Great exterior design, helpful guest service more

Calm in the middle of a storm 7/12/2002

Well maybe not a storm but I find The Grove to be a relaxing place to be in what seems like the busiest part of town. I think a large part of the appeal is that it isn't just another big mall (or a Westfield Shopping Town). Pros: atmosphere, easy parking, convenient Cons: crowded at times, not inexpensive more

Red carpeted parking ramp 7/8/2002

Where else can you find a crystal chandelier and bathroom attendant in a parking ramp? The Grove's oppulence is better suited to Rodeo Drive, but it's a fun place to shop. The computerized kiosks, musical fountain, trolley, cobblestone streets and main street recreation are tasteful and creative. The movie theater is awesome and it's great to be next door to the Farmers Market (try the Kyoto Grapes). Pros: High tech, Clean, Fancy Cons: Crowded, Expensive more

Comfort is key! 6/27/2002

This was the best movie going experience I have ever had! The facilities are clean, modern and comfortable. The theaters are high tech and well layed out. I went to see one movie and ended up seeing 2 in a row. The staff is great, very professional. more

FUN FOR SHOPPING! 6/26/2002

This is partcially new just added on to the Farmers Market and is pretty cool! It's nice to be able to go shopping outdoors.. If you want to sit and hang out you can just walk over to the Farmers Market it self and pick up some last min. groceries, sit and hang out drinking a cup of coffee or a nice cold beer! Pros: food, shopping, easy to get around Cons: parking is bad!, nothing, nothing more

A must do - even for old timers 6/13/2002

They did a wonderful job with this mall. I highly recommend, even the old locals stop by and check it out. Clean, well maintained good for the whole family. Perfect for a Saturday afternoon stroll. The Parking structure though is the wildest ride I've been on outside of Mr. Toads fun house. Just pay attention to the signs and you should be okay. Pros: Comfortable, Clean, Nice more

This is how it's done! 6/12/2002

This place is fantastic. It's brand new, huge screens, reserved seating (in at least one theater) and the staff is friendly and courteous. I highly recommend going here if you want to get the full effect of a Hollywood movie! Pros: big, centrally located, state of the art more

Attend a Movie Here! 6/12/2002

Better than the comforts of your own living room couch! The seats are extrmely comfortable, if the movie is lousy you can fall asleep in the seats and at least get something for your $10. Screen is very wide and accomodating no matter what seat you have. Interesting display of LA movie theatre history in the entry areas, nice job of blending the modern with the classic. more

How about opening all of the stores? 6/11/2002

You're lucky if you get a little more than a handful of stores open. Most are slated for the end of this year or sometime next year. I suppose this is what they mean by window shopping since you can't get in and are forced, literally, to look at the windows. It seems like it will be great someday, but right now, it's like walking on a movie lot. Everything looks real from the front, but there's nothing inside. more

Small but nice 6/10/2002

The atmosphere here is great. It's small and nice with the water fountains and trolly car but if you really want to spend the day shopping this is not the place to go. The shopping area isn't that big. If you want to enjoy the afternoon, see a movie, grab lunch then this is perfect. more

Shopper's Delight 6/6/2002

Terrific mall with lots of nice shops. Although parking garage can get crowded, there are a lot of spaces. Nice to have mall within walking distance of the Farmer's Markets. Pros: Great Stores, Clean, Safe Cons: can be crowded more

Awesome 6/3/2002

When I first went to this mall it felt like I was walking at the Main Street Disney. I would say that it's the 2nd happiest place on earth--well for people who loves to go shopping! . Its great for an afternoon walk and shopping, the Nordstrom's is my favorite--carries the brands from Juicy jeans to Diesel. And wait till you see the theater, it looks like a hotel lobby! Pros: convenient parking more

A better mall than HollyVine 5/29/2002

The staff wear bellhop caps. The seats are quite comfortable. The ticketing lines weren't short, but moved satisfyingly brisly. The Grove mall is pleasing in a California-Disney way, and the theater is adjacent to Barnes and Noble. Did I mention parking was $1 with the electronic approval of the merchant? Given a choice between the HollyVine complex and The Grove, I'll be taking in my summer blockbusters at The Grove. more

Like, totally awesome mall 5/27/2002

This is the best mall in L.A. Nice, clean, plenty of parking. But the best part is there is not skanky food court, instead there's the entire Farmer's Market to eat all kinds of well-made, quality food. more

State-of-the-art 5/20/2002

What a great place to see a movie! The sound is crisp and the stadium seats are plush. The whole place just feels big and new, but not new in a plasticky, annoying way. New in an ""instant classic"" way. more

Sweet! 5/19/2002

I love the loge section of theater. For 2 bucks more per ticket, you can get seated first in a mezzanine section. While seated, you can order your snacks and they'll bring it to you. All this in a soft cushy leatherette seats. It make going to the movies a lot more enjoyable. Let me just say, i didn't have to wait in line for Star Wars: Episode II on a saturday, the opening weekend. more

Nice new theater 5/19/2002

The sound and visuals have been great the times I have been here. At least now when everything here is new and shiny it's really nice. The 1940's look is neat; I wonder if it will keep up as the theater gets older. They have quite a bit of staff, usually short lines if any, the surrounding open air mall is about as nice as malls can be. Parking is easy. Being a bit taller than average (6'2"") I don't care too much for the stadium seating thing; but most people really like it. more
