Review of Banfield vet 10/21/2014

I have never been so appalled and disgusted with someone until I dealt with "Dr. O'Brien". She has no compassion for the health & well being of animals---she only cares about the amount of money she can convince you to spend. After my encounter with her I was physically sick. I have been using this clinic for over a year & have seen Dr. Kara Erickson and Dr.Emily many times.They are both kind & their love for pets is evident by their manner and honesty--this is also true of employees Carrie, Heather,Tyler & Michelle. I'm shocked this great clinic employs Ms. Obrien who obviously knows nothing of kindness or basic manners. My appt. was for my cat who has cancer. Dr. Kara & I decided on steroid shots-to keep him pain free-& I do not get charged an exam fee for this. But Ms Obrien did charge me-I told her the arrangement & she argued & said I was a liar. My 2nd cat needed blood work-which proved his liver was failing & all she said was "it sucks". She told me she thought I would only let more

Dr. O'Brien is the worst vet I have ever dealt with. Her bedside manner is horrible and she doesn't seem to care about the pets at all, more the money she receives! After taking our dog to her, she lied to us about a medication saying that our dog would not survive a day without it. The medicine cost $1500/month which we could not afford. We had our dog put on a much less expensive medication which she has done great on for a few weeks and when we tried to fill the prescription online, Dr. O"Brien would not authorize the request because we didn't pay for the $1500 medication! She held our prescription hostage knowing that our dog would die without it! I am filing a formal complaint against her and urge everyone to stay away from her office! more

Nothing amazing... 3/30/2009

I have taken my ferret and cat to see the vet here, and the service is okay at best. They are highly busy, and the surrounding Petsmart store atmosphere positively freaks out a sick pet (no fault of the vet). Once inside with my ferret we had to have x-rays and such then they sent me home after finding out my ferret had digested something too large to pass!! I was angry, but couldn't argue and figured I would go to another vet the next day. Then when I'm already home, I get a call to come back, then a call to not come back, and one last final call to come back and put my ferret into surgery. What I will say is it was wonderful that the vet took the ferret home post-op. What I will say was horrible was the bills. They have no reliable payment estimate. When the ferret went in the cost was estimated at around $300. When he came out I paid more than double that amount for the same things they had previously estimated for. He was even in surgery for a shorter time than they estimat more
