Awful, Money-Hungry Vet 11/10/2010

Don't take your pet here. On our first visit, this vet guilts you into treatment you do not need for your animal. This last visit, all our dog needed was a Bordetella shot and we were never told ahead of time they require a full exam ($35.95) prior to administering the shot. He had just had a full exam 5 months prior. After 2 visits, we will never go back to this vet. This was our last visit and I will be spreading the word. more

Dr. Tiemann & Staff 9/22/2010

My wellness package protected me when my puppy goes in to be seen for something every couple of months. She has allergies, skin problems, eliminating problems. We would have paid so much more somewhere else if it hadn't been for the Banfield package. But, more importantly, Dr. Tiemann is always caring, kind and gentle with my 1.5 yr old puppy. He remembers the details about our dog, asks about them and always offers reasonable advice on the choices we have to make on treatment. I find his staff personable, professional and helpful. Overpriced 8/22/2010

Highest priced in town. I price shopped when I moved here and this place was BY FAR the highest. The prices they give on the phone seem cheap until you need something done. I learned my lesson after I paid the bill and called around to check pricing. more

Money Hungry 5/27/2009

The 1 star is for the friendly receptionists. I only went there once & won't go back. They were very pushy. They tried to sell me their ridiculous, expensive & unnecessary 'Wellness Plan' along with several shots that did not apply to my cat's circumstances. After agreeing to one of the shots, I read up on it, only to find out it is applicable to cats who either live with other cats or come into contact with other cats - neither of which applies to my cat (FIP shot). I also found out this FIP shot has minimal effectiveness in preventing FIP, and it is not generally recommended by the American Association of Feline Practitioners Feline Vaccine Advisory Panel. Nice. I went in planning to spend $40, they tried to sell me $225 worth of drugs & services. I only ended up spending $55 since I turned down most of what was recommended but should have stuck with the original 2 shots around $40. Overall - not a trustworthy place to take your beloved pets/kids. more

Staff at Banfield The Pet Hospital Omaha 10/22/2008

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Tiemann, Dr. Sokol and Dr. Finch at Banfield the Pet Hospital in Omaha. I have two dogs who I love as much as I do my own children. As the mother of a furkid, I'm a little overprotective and over cautious I'm sure. All of the staff have been nothing but professional, kind and considerate. One of my dogs got very sick back in the spring and Dr. Sokol went above and beyond the call of duty to try to figure out what was causing her to be sick. I honestly think I could have lost her without Dr. Sokol's tenacity to figure out what was wrong and get her the care she needed to get better. They are great with follow-ups and I always feel as though they take my questions and concerns seriously.\r \r I would recommend them as a vet to anyone!! more

Dr. Tiemann & The Banfield Staff 5/19/2008

I will never go to another vet as long as Dr. Tiemann and his staff are around. They are patient, kind, and extremely considerate of you and your kids (aka pets). I can't list all of the wonderful experiences I've had there. Both of my dogs have ongoing issues. I left another vet (who was milking me dry to test and test with no real solution or treatment) and went to Banfield. Dr. Tiemann came through for me and impressed me immediately upon my first visit and hasn't disappointed since. They truly care about you and your pets. I cannot say enough about them. They are wonderful! :) more

Leaving Banfield! 3/10/2007

Dr Tiemann is not personable nor does he agressively seek resolutions. He expects you to leave your animal for an exam. I explained that I am not going to do that and he canceled my pet's insurance. When I take my animal in for an exam I wait patiently so that I can be present. I do not want my pet in the very loud back room in a cage with other scared animals waiting on the Dr.to get around to looking at him. In addition, I live in the country and it takes me 45 minutes to get to the Clinic. I am not going to drive into the city and then drive home in the morning, to leave my animal there and drive another hour and a half at the end of the day. Dr Tiemann has NO REGARD for any one elses situation except his own. He does not breed trust or a relationship with clients. He did not aggressively seek solutions to my pet's low thyroid, he only wanted to schedule him for a tooth cleaning, which I did not feel my pet needed again so soon. Helped my dog! 8/28/2005

I have gone to this vet with two of my dogs. One had a respiratory infection and the other had a tumor on her ear. Both times they were amazingly kind and gentle with my dogs and knew exactly what to do to make them better. They are also very reasonably priced so even though it is an unexpected expense, it's not an unbearable one. Definitely a place to go if your dog has a minor illness!! more
