Caring & compassionate 7/30/2011

Every time we have gone to Annie's Animal Clinic, we have had a positive experience. We started taking our older cat Kramer there in 2005 when we moved to Highlands Ranch. Each appointment was quick and easy and the vet (Dr. MacKenzie) was personable and sweet, and answered all our questions. In 2010 we had dental surgery done for him for numerous cavities. The price was cheaper than I expected after talking to other places, and the whole process was effortless. We had a ""new cat"" afterwards - he was so much happier. In 2011 Kramer was 14 and had a number of health problems. We decided we had to get him put to sleep, but at the last minute, I could not go through with it. The compassion that Dr. MacKenzie showed was amazing. She outlined our options. We could keep him with us, but with daily medications and strong pain pills, and his quality of life would still be low. We decided to go through with it. I almost felt like the Dr. was my friend by the end of this with how much empathy she showed. They did not collect our money at the end, but advised us to grieve and worry about it later. They sent us a sympathy card the next week, which I appreciated. Months later, we have two new pets and Annie's is going to do free exams since they came from a shelter. I completely trust Annie's Animal Clinic and can't imagine taking my animals anywhere else. more

Doesn't Care About Customer Service...Or Your Pet 1/31/2011

Let me start off by saying I will never go back to Annie’s Animal Clinic. Their staff is very rude and unprofessional, including their doctors. I was told several times that I could pick up a prescription so I can order medication through another company (online pet prescription that charges less). When I arrived, I was told that I had to bring in my dog and pay $50.00 for another checkup. My dog was just seen 6 months prior where I had to pay a $50 charge at that checkup. I refused and needless to say, they never released this prescription. My second dog was taken in for a shot before her one-year checkup. When we were finished, I was told we owed 50.00 on top of the shots. Once again I was told prior to this appointment that I did not have to pay the checkup fee. Neither the doctor nor staff was willing to wave this fee. I expressed my feelings and told them I will not be returning and all they did was shrug. It seems they have too many customers to worry about customer service. Annie’s Animal Clinic is over priced and is only concerned about money and not the well being of your loving pet. more

The Best Clinic in Denver 12/17/2009

I have been in dog showing for quite some time and had one of my champions come down with an auto immune disease. After unsatisfactory and expensive treatment at another clinic, I went to meet with Dr. Annette on a recommendation. She was fabulous! She worked with me to find the perfect medication to help my dog when he was crashing and helped me put together a program to wean back on the meds when he was better. I love the staff at this clinic and highly recommend it. Pros: Superb Care for your pet; works with you for a solution Cons: Far from where I live! more

Wish I would have changed vets 10/11/2009

We had been taking our Akita, Lilly to these vets for about a year and a half before she began to have seizures. Their diagnosis was to let them come and go but if they got worse or more frequent we would have to put her on daily meds. Unfortunately they began to get worse and she was put on daily med, Dr. Chris (homeopathic vet) started working there and Lilly was becoming spacey and lethargic. I went to her for a more holistic approach, she suggested these Chinese herb pills, gave Lilly the pills and within an hour she had 2 seizures, I called the vet frantic and no one would speak to me and the Dr. would not be in until later that day. Lilly had another seizure by the time the Dr. called me back, she was now in danger of permanent brain damage and they could not fit us in until tomorrow but if she had another seizure then she would need to be rushed in immediately. My boss was nice enough to let me bring her to work and she had a seizure at 9:00am, I rushed her to the emergency room and $950 later they did not know why she was having the seizures and she worse than ever. Lilly did not know who we were, she cowered when we came home, I would pet her and she would run away, it was the most tragic thing that had happened to our little family. That was the day we lost our Lilly, within 4 months we put her down because of the numerous seizures she was having every day. The meds that that Dr. prescribed killed our girl and my husband and I will never forgive ourselves for ever taking her there. These vets want money and do not care out the animals, anything to get you coming back for more treatment or vaccines. Pros: Close to our home Cons: Sad place for animals more
