Dr Baker is great. We took our Hedgehog here when we were told by another vet that the lump under her chin was nothing to worry about. Glad I did. She ended up having the lump removed since it was causing pain (the x rays showed not only the mass but it shifting her teeth backwards). My husband and I didn't have all of the money up front and they were caring enough to allow us to make payments and called and checked on her every few days. My cats love the male vet there as well. Demon, our youngest and meanest, was a total lover to him which suprised me more than I can say! I have recommended them to DOZENS of exotic owners as well as cat owners knowing they will be in excellent hands. Love love love Dr Baker! more

Never again!! 11/5/2011

I used to be a boarding client of this practice and, while I would recommend their boarding facility, I have had a couple of issues with them regarding their medical practices. Firstly, because I only use them to board, I do not need to receive notifications regarding vaccines. I have informed them several times not to send me notices, but to no avail: the techs tell me that the notices are produced by the system "automatically" and, somehow, cannot be stopped. Secondly, whenever I have boarded there, they insist on a plethora of vaccines. I understand that they need to safeguard the health of all boarding animals but the last time I was there, they double vaccinated my dog by giving her an all-in-one shot, one of which she had already received at her regular vet during her annual. Lastly, I recently took my dog in to have her nails trimmed. I asked the tech if I could go in with my dog for the procedure, as my dog is very nervous about the procedure; she is also older (10) and I like more

by DVDfan\r 05/24/2011\r \r The worst veterinary clinic i took my cat and they told me that they need to do i lot exams and i did it after that they give me expensive pills which ones never work, my cat it was coughing like crazy almost dying of the pain in that horrible veterinarian you know they want rip off my money asking for more exams and i was so upset and tired of the place and i got bright idea to take my poor cat to another vet thanks God i found sensitive y human people which ones they care about to find the right medicine without playing with my feelings and the health of my cat,finally they told me that my cat only needs ashma shoot and it wasnt necessary all those exams to know the solution,please be aware if you love your pet dont take it to Baker Veterinarian is a nightmare for you and the safety of your pet. more

At 2 years old my cavalier/shitzu dog Tiki developed colitis for 6 months and I asked an old friend who his vet was. He himself was the top thoracic surgeon at JFK Hospital for years so I figured he'd know a good doctor! He answered that Susan Baker was the only doctor to even consider! She had Tiki well in 2 weeks, Put her on prescription food and she has been healthy ever since.Dr. Baker is kind and compassionate as well as having the reputation of being the best small animal surgeon in Florida. At 10 years old Tiki is headed for surgery this week to remove a growth in her bladder. As difficult as this is to face, I am so happy Dr. Baker will be performing the task! more
