Editorial review from Citysearch 4/3/2014

Went there last night for my birthday. I thought the omniscience was great, we sat on the patio area with the breeze. The bar was a bit backed up, we got our appetizer before our drinks. The food was a mixture of delicious to pretty good. The beef empenadas were yummy and the shrimp and tilapia were also great, the Mahi Mahi was also pretty good. I guess my only complaint was the service. It completely sucked.... more

Rowdy, loud, medicore food 2/5/2012

Last night we had the misfortune to eat at Bahama Breeze in Northeast Raleigh. The 2 armed police officers at the front door should have served as a warning to us as to what type of establishment this is but we naively went in anyway. The atmosphere was more low-end nightclub than restaurant. Many of the patrons were rowdy and loud. After a long wait to be seated, it then took over 1 hour to get our food after we ordered. Food was mediocre at best. Restroom was one of the filthiest I have ever seen. more

Good Place to hang out!!! 11/28/2010

I like this place, Good ambience. Good Service. Good music. Coconut shrimp tastes good. We were attended by 'Travis' he was very courteous and made sure we are comfortable with the food. We will definitely go there again. more

Good place for drinks and snacks 8/27/2009

The food here may not be anything close to authentic, but it's good! We had the jamaican wings, portabello sandwich, the house salad and were impressed with all items. Service was very friendly and fun, the atmosphere out on the patio is fantastic. Why didn't we come here sooner? Pros: Reasonably priced mixed drinks Cons: Menu not exactly authentic to Caribbean theme more

Just below average 1/23/2009

I have been here for lunch with coworkers and dinner for family. Each time the service was slow, the price was a little high for what you get. The food itself can be delicious, but the atmosphere is loud and again, slow. The servers all seem to be on the verge of frantic, dropping off food and leaving right away. The only waiting space is right in front of the door, leading to a big crowd milling around in a small area. The drinks are imaginative, if unevenly poured. Pros: Creative dishes and drinks Cons: Loud with nonattentive service more

Have to try at least once 12/7/2008

I loved this place!! The food still makes my mouth water and the crowd was family oriented and for those looking to go have drinks with friends, I even noticed a lot of cute guys around! The parking was great and the service was fabulous...I love west indian food, and this definitely puts a twist on it. They close the doors and 11pm and I wish they would stay open a little longer, but other than this I have no complaints. One of the best places Ive been to since I moved to Raleigh a year ago. Pros: excellent service and food, parking, drinks Cons: closes doors too early (11pm) more

Excellent food! Excellent service!!! 8/12/2008

My wife and I stopped in to try something new. We were astonished at the service. Never did my drink get empty, our food arrived very quickly, and Renee, our server always had a smile on her face. We will most definately be making a return trip this place. The food was very flavorful and a delight to see as well as eat with the chefs artful presentation of the food. A must try if you haven't already!! Pros: Service, quantity to price ratio more

Best Ribs in Town! 2/3/2008

The BBQ ribs with guava sauce are incredible!!! Also, love the BBQ pizza on the appetizer menu. Highly recommended! Great atmosphere for family and friends. Pros: Food and fun atmosphere Cons: long wait if you don't call ahead more

Good Food with a Tropical Twist 2/15/2007

Bahama Breeze has good food, but when we get a favorite item, they go and change the menu and get rid of our favorites :-( Grilled seafood salads in some form with the citrus dressings are what we look for. They have awesome Key Lime Pie and Coconut Shrimp. For cocktails, the Ultimate Pina Colada and the Margaritas are my favorites. more

Sanitation concerns 7/23/2006

I made my first trip to Bahama Breeze tonight, and my entire party was shocked at how poorly the main outdoor bar area out front is designed. There is a small drink-garnishing station on the outside of the bar where waiters and waitresses can take drinks from the bartender, add fruit, and then take the drink to whoever ordered it. The problem with this setup is that the fruit bar is out in the open, right along a main corridor for customer traffic, and there is nothing to stop anyone from reaching over and grabbing a handful of fruit to munch on as they pass by. more

One of my favorite places 7/4/2006

A very tropical, relaxing environment makes Bahama Breeze the perfect carribbean retreat. Great music, fun atmosphere, and quite possibly the most wonderful coconut battered onion rings in the world! The service is, for the most part, knowledgable and friendly. They do push dessert, so save a little room! The chocolate cake is worth it! However, you're taking your chances on a Friday or Saturday night, as this place can get extremely packed. I prefer dining here during lunchtime on a weekday. As far as portions go, you may find that splitting a meal is a very good idea. Overall, I highly recommend it...try the onion rings, they are to die for. Pros: excellent food, fun atmosphere Cons: weekend party crowd more

Bad Service 10/9/2005

The food was decent (if you don't mind getting something that you didn't order), but the service was terrible. We had one server getting our drinks that we rarely saw and one that took our food orders that we never saw again. Not only was my order botched up, but I waited for 2.5 hours to get it! Our drink server made the comment several times that we weren't near as important as the larger party seated next to us so we had better be patient. Getting a refill was near impossible. We arrived at 8:00pm and didn't receive our checks until 11:30pm and we had been trying to have a quick dinner! Pros: live music Cons: service, food more

I Love It 6/28/2005

I went to Bahama Breeze for the first time this year and I loved it. The drink menu is actually pages long. It will take forever to decide what you want to drink or which one to try next. I love the Jerk Chicken Wings and the Cajun Chicken Sandwich was not bad either. The Ultimate Pina Colada is wonderful, highly recommended. The service was slow, but I enjoyed talking to my friends on the patio. It's kind of like being in the club with having someone grinding on you. I love Bahama Breeze. Pros: Jerk Chicken, Wonderful Drinks, Romantic Cons: Long Wait, Slow Service more

""No need for an attitude, Bro."" 3/13/2005

My party arrived at about 11:10 PM. After taking our order, the server told us that closing time was 11:30. A second server came with our order and slapped the plate on the table. We ate and were sitting on the patio when another employee came and told us that he had been ""doing us a favor"" by letting us sit there and we had to leave. While I was acceeding to his request, he said to me,""There's no need for an attitude, Bro."" I'm not his ""Bro"" I was a paying customer. I was not objecting to leaving . In customer service, attitude is everything, and his approach was arrogant, insensitive and condescending. We have generally had a good time at this facility in the past and recommended it highly. Tonight is the LAST time we will be visiting there. I cannot pay to be treated with disrespect. more

Ask for Mama 11/9/2004

My wife and son were treated to a fun evening out. It was our first visit. My wife had a fish dish served on cinnamon sweet potatoes with fried cucumbers. It was delicious and very different. Mine was bowtie pasta, grilled chicken slices with asparagus and a light cream sauce. The drink menu is exhausting but fun and the atmosphere was delightful. We will be back. Pros: fun drinks, great menu, ambience more

WOW! 8/25/2004

This place is great!! The atmosphere is awesome. Definitely check out the bar outside while waiting (the wait is usually pretty long on busy nights). The food here is perfect. I've never had anything that I haven't enjoyed. The drink tab can add up fast because you'll see several drinks that you're dying to try! Pros: Great atmosphere, Food, Awesome unique drinks more
