Not sure why so many people are crazy about Babe's Pizza. It was completely unlike any other pizza I've ever eaten, that wasn't really a good thing. The prices are pretty high too for 2 people it was over $40 for just pizza salad and drinks. more

What a Letdown! :( 11/18/2005

First, the hours of operation are terrible. We were starved at 3:30pm, but had to come back at 5pm when they opened. Good thing too, this place became packed within 10 minutes of the doors opening. For what reason I have no idea. The salads that other patrons ordered looked pretty good, but we only ordered a double decker pizza, which took 35 minutes to cook. The cheese and mushrooms were good, BUT the sauce was bland and the crust tasted like a stale fisherman's cracker. I would've rather been chewing on a styrofoam cup! We were so hungry, it took us a couple sliced before we realized how bad it was. Will never return. Pros: service, salads Cons: pizza, long wait, hours more

I grew up in Brandon. I remember spending many nights watching the high school guys make pizza at the bar. Fond memories. The double decker is good but filling. The single is just as good. What is the secret in the sauce? more

Babe's - what a place, very good pizza, bread etc. Fortunately we went in at 5:00 when they opened and didn't have a wait, two other tables full. I recommend not Friday or Saturday. Also hours are 5-9? I think. Wierd but they say it works for them. I alwys look forward to going. Native Floridian never had NYC or Chicago, can't comment. When moving to Tampa about a year ago, I was told go to Babe's pizza its the best there is. Well... I guess being spoiled with real pizza from growing up in Brooklyn, New York my entire life, Babe's Pizza left aLOT to be desired. I would NOT recommend this place to nayone who knows real Pizza. Many families of my friends all had pizzareia's and still do, and most are among the top notch in NYC. Though I have stll yet to find a real good slice of pizza out of NYC, there are 2 places i do like, and Babe's is definately not one of them. This is PIZZA? 7/11/2005

Some friends kept raving about Babe's Pizza, so we tried it out. Not only was the place PACKED, with the waiting room full, but the pizza was a huge disappointment. We enjoy pizza you can sink your teeth into. This was not it! This was, as my daughter described it, ""watery, no flavor sauce, too much cheese, sitting on top of a cracker"". For those of you that like crispy, thin crust pizza, this place is for you. Everyone else, KEEP AWAY. Best Pizza 4/27/2005

My parents raised me on Babes pizza and I still love it for the double decker pizza and the salad. The staff are very friendly and still remeber me since I was a little kid. I love pizza and I have tried so many different pizza places but none as unique and tasty as the Babes' double decker. It is a must! more

Best Pizza in Brandon 3/16/2005

My fiance and I go to Babes if not weekly every other week. The staff is fantastic and knows us by name and are so friendly. The pizza is out of this world and so is their cheese bread with sauce. The only complaint is that they dont' deliver, but I think dining there gives the pizza more flavor and taste and adds to the whole pizza experience. Miss Jackie gave our son a tour of the kitchen and he loved it, everyone there is great and I totally recommend it to anyone in the surrounding Riverview/Tampa/Valrico area!!!!! more

Had a good time watching them make the pizza. Kid's liked the ""pizza"" call when a dine in order was ready. Train nice to watch go around. The best Pizza in FL , even rivals New York and Chicago Pizza . Two slices of a double decker pizza and your full. I've sat and watched them prepare the pizza,all fresh Ingrediants. There's a rason why there's always a long wait . Because the pizza is just that good . Parking lot is small but if you don't care about the parking, just order it to go. Just Great Pizza!! 7/24/2003

We found Babe's when our friends lived in Brandon and we always had to stop in for a pizza. Even after moving to Atlanta we had to stop in while on vacation and now that we live in Brandon full time we visit all the time. You just can't beat the pizza or the service. It is just an all around good place to eat, but if you go on the weekend go early or you will have a wait.....although the great thing about being close now is we can have our pizza TAKE OUT! more

Babes is easily the most unique pizza experience you will find in Tampa or in the U.S. for that matter. The definitive double-decker is a 'must have' for any pizza lover. Babe's Pizza has been around for many, many years. Their double decker pizza is an icon. When we have people come into town, they want to go to Babe's for pizza. I discovered Babe's pizza by chance. I noticed the sign when turning on King's Rd. Babe come get me is a running joke between my husband and his brother. Thank goodness for male tacky jokes!
