Wow wow wow! Very rarely on ocean drive do you find an all around great dining experience for whatever price on ocean drive. The atmosphere and decor was very inviting. Upscale yet casual sobe . Service was out standing. I. Counted 5 total , maybe more of the staff who attended to us at some point. The food was well prepared and served. The price is on the higher end but worth every penny. I recommend this establishment. Hats of to the chef! more

My boyfriend and I made reservations and sat at an outside table. We were greeted in a very timely and friendly manner. We were asked if we wanted to start with any appetizers and we declined. However, everyone receives a loaf of delicious bread as well as a few spread with crackers. It was wonderful! My boyfriend ordered filet and loved it. I ordered hanger steak, even though it was not on the dinner menu (the hanger steak is on the lunch menu but they allowed me to order it for dinner). We enjoyed the entire meal and would absolutely recommend this place. After our main entree, we were presented with a wonderful desert. We got tons of extras and this meal was worth every dime! more

Ocean avenue is ridiculous at best with the giant drinks and sometimes delicious encounters. However there are little surprises and BLT steak is one of them. I have been finagling my way down Ocean Ave. while working in Miami. Eating for one is normally downing a drink, an appetizer and a salad or small entree just to fill myself before heading back to my hotel and trying to fall asleep to the techno music outside my window. However tonight at BLT Steak I truly enjoyed my meal. I was elated when a jar of chicken liver pate and pickled vegetables arrived at my table. The pate was delicious and an nice change from the regular bread with dipping oil. I hate to admit it but I ate it all and almost licked the jar. I started with the Himachee and was excited to see more than three pieces of nice fish for the $17. The vinaigrette truly complimented the fish and the garnish of radishes, hearts of palm, micro greens and cucumber were excitedly offset by the avocado and Jalapeno. However, the popover brought out to my table, which at first I thought was a giant ham hock, was one of the highlights of the night. I promptly broke it open, smothered the inside with butter and relished each and every bite. The chopped vegetable salad was very nice. It was overflowing with fresh veggies and the super crispy greens were well dressed with a very tasty dressing. I tried to eat it all but the $15 the salad costs was one of the more economical dishes I have been offered in South Beach. I thought about desert but decided to decline and was overly excited when a fresh basket of lemon vanilla Madeline's arrived at my table. I felt a tiny bit bad as I ate every last piping hot one. It was a nice ending to a delightful meal. I will be going back and trying more on the menu. Be prepared to spend some money but if you are in South Beach you will not be too surprised! Enjoy. more

I've lived Miami Beach since 1993. I usually avoid ocean drive for dinner. BLT is a shining exception. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is exquisite. There is a warm vibe. Thank you BLT for giving me Ocean Drive back. more

I dined here for the first time during 2010 Miami Spice. Based on the fact that I was dining on the $22 lunch 3-course menu and nothing that I had (excluding the diet coke) was to my liking, I will not be back. Do not understand what the hype is about. more

Upon walking by The Betsy Hotel in South Beach, we entered BLT Steak to review the menu. We loved the atmosphere and the menu looked interesting so we had our concierge cancel our reservation at Smith and Wollensky and book BLT Steak instead. We arrived at 6:00 pm on a Tuesday night and there were a few patrons at the bar. We were greeted by Amber, a lovely and knowledgeable barmaid who provided us with details on the nightlife in South Beach. We enjoyed our bottle of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon (2006) and she brought it to our table when it was time to be seated. Our waiter, Marco, proved to be very well-informed with the menu, and also shared a "blackboard" menu: a prix fixe meal including an appetizer, entrée, side dish, and dessert for $62. After ordering, we were offered grilled flatbed with a small jar of chicken livers and a few pickled cucumbers. This was a pleasant surprise and elevated our expectations for the meal. The spinach and radicchio salad with blue cheese and bacon that I ordered was large enough to split and very nicely done. Prior to our entrees arriving, Marco delivered popovers which were by far, the best we've ever had. BLT includes a little recipe booklet with the recipe for the popovers which is a quaint little detail that inspires the chef in all of us. My flat iron steak with onion sauce was perfectly prepared medium-rare and presented in the skillet it was cooked in. On the side, we were given several options for sauces and the peppercorn sauce that I choose was light and complimented the steak perfectly. Only the grilled onion sauce detracted from the steak itself, but other than that, everything was perfect. The side of lima bean succotash was expertly prepared with sautéed onions and corn. My partner enjoyed the ribeye (on the bone) with a side of cilantro mashed potatoes (light and tasty) and grilled asparagus. I must note that the asparagus was cut in half and each half was grilled to the same consistency which is a another small detail that our chef attended to. We shared the dessert of 3 sorbets (lychee, tamarind, and mame) which was a refreshing palette cleanser and sweet end to a perfect meal. To close, Marco delivered orange blossom Madeline's, compliments of the chef, and a glass of Prosecco. Our meal could not have been better and I doubt that we would have had such an exceptional experience at Smith and Wollensky's. The Executive Chef, Laurent Tourondel, does not overlook one detail and over delivers on all levels of culinary expectations. As a result, I plan on visiting other BLT restaurants as I travel and look forward to those meals as well. more

executive summary: \r \r Pros: Great food, attractive yet modern dining room, overall good value for a steak house on South Beach. Good experience/money well spent.\r \r Cons: Nothing serious but the sides are very small for a relatively large price, and while the money is well spent be prepared to spend. This is not your amazing value aka diamond in the rough aka "ballin' on a budget" steakhouse. \r \r At a minimum a steak house is a restaurant that specializes in the aging and preparation of meat, particularly beef. What separates a good steak house from a great one are all the little things. BLT in my opinion is a great steak house because they understand this. The reason people tend to patronize a particular steak house is due to certain other variables, beyond the steak, which one could generically summarize as " the experience." It's this often intangible and undervalued novelty factor which can explain how a restaurant serving great food fails and why restaurant serving not so great food becomes successful. As with all steak houses BLT excels in the preparation of there steaks. The reason I recommend you try BLT is because they have truly excellent service, a fantastic location, a beautiful dining room that manages to be sophisticated without being pretentious, antiquated, or just absurd, and because they know you don't just want a steak ...you also want an experience. more

The worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. For a place as expensive as this they could at least have brought a second round of water out after 45+ minutes more

I'm reluctant to spend big bucks on Ocean Drive for dinner. BLT steak delivers! The service is over the top, no automatic gratuity, small buy well thought out wine list. And the food was incredible. I had the 5 spice duck and we had oysters on the half shell and the charcutie plate. We spent a lot of money, but the food and the incredible service made it worth while. I'll be back, when I get my next paycheck. more
