Wonderfully relaxing experience 5/6/2011

A very relaxing environment with friendly yet not chatty staff. The music, water features and aroma blend to create a nice experience. The Avant Garde Pedicure and Avant Gard Manicure are definitely the very best. I love the calf massage and the hot wax! more

"Frequent Flyer Miles" 5/4/2011

Not sure if you know but AvantGard Spa has a program in which you earn "points". Points that you can redeem later on any services. You have to book an appointment in advance before leaving the spa. This is a no brainer when it comes to "customer satisfaction". Loyality is rewarded! When I noticed my points were not adding up a simple phone call cleared it up and the owner fixed the problem. I've used my points in the past to treat my mother when she visits! Can't beat that. She just wishes there was an AvantGard where she lives. But there only ONE and it's in our own backyard. The most professional and relaxing ambience you'll EVER see in a Spa/Nail Salon. But you get what you pay for and quality isn't cheap. If you want quick, sloppy, and be treated like a number...go elsewhere! Avantgard is in a class of their own. From the first phone call to the end of your service. Can't go wrong. Thank you Blanca and Crystal for keeping me "pampered"! more

Perfect way to spend a Saturday 5/2/2011

Started with the seaweed back massage to put me in total relaxation and then had a glamour make-up appointment to "pretty me up" for a night out on the town. Fantastic from start to finish!! more

Waxing brows/upper lip and custom foundation 4/25/2011

I've been going to Jessica for years. She is very professional and does a great job on my brows. I love the custom blend foundation she makes for me as well. If there could be a 10 star rating I would give Avant Gard 10 STARS.......from the professionalism of the people that answer the phone, make appointments to the superb service I get from Jessica. more

Buy a pedicure, receive a free manicure 4/17/2011

I tipped on the total amount and couldn't believe that the bill was $76. I won't be back, I thought that was incredibly expensive for a mani/pedi. Salon was nice, but just way too expensive! more

Feel So Good! 4/14/2011

Just had a deep tissue massage at AvantGard Spa. It is alway a treat to come here fro me because I always leave invigorated. Everyone here is always so kind and pleasant, the ambience is so relaxing and inviting. Andrea my massage therapist was very knowledgeable about my joints, ligaments my pains!She listened to my concerns and accomodated my needs. She was terrific and thats what I expect from a massage therapist. I will definetley come back to see her for my ailing joints. i hope in a few weeks! Kudos for such a unique an aspiring place to have in Sn Carlos, Ca. more

Great facial! 4/11/2011

Rhoda was my esthetician when I visited Avant Gard on Saturday for a much needed facial and brow shaping. She was excellent, and helped me to also update my home routine to improve the ongoing health of my skin. I left refreshed and relaxed- and very pleased. I will definitely be back. more
