I was extremely pleased and somewhat surprised that there was no charge for repairing a loose part making a noise in the right front of my Honda Odyssey. I was referred to Automotive One by a friend and owner of a car repair/service business in Marco Island I had used for 20+ years when I moved to Orlando. I'm very glad I headed the referral. This just so happens to be the worst mechanic I have ever brought a car to. My car was not starting they said it was possible the started and it was going to be $229.00 to find out if so. So, OK I said yes, then they realized it was not the starter and that when they did a compression test that was the problem (low compression.) Then he said I basically needed a new engine ($5,500) based on these results. I said no thank you, he then had no problem charging me $550.50 for a new started and labor hat ended up not even being the problem. I then found a guy that told me it was piston rings and a couple of other problems and fixed the car for $560 dollars. So I wasted two weeks of my time, $550 dollars, and overall he was wrong about his diagnostics. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, I WAS TOLD NOT TO GIVE THE GUYS NAME WHO FIXED MY CAR for $560; BUT GO TO FIRESTONE COMPLETE IF ANYWHERE NEEDED IN LONGWOOD (400 W State Road 434, Longwood - (407) 830-5557) THEY ARE 400 TIMES BETTER THEN AUTOMOTIVE JOKE; MY FRIENDS ALL BRING THEIR CARS HERE AND THEY ALWAYS COME BACK FIXED FOR WAYYY LESS THEN AUTOMOTIVE JOKE REPAIR. more

Automotive One quoted me $299 for the install of a tow hitch on my Volvo XC90. He said that "as a rule, all Volvo's come equipped with the proper wiring. In the event that your Volvo somehow does not have this wiring, we will let you know because it will be an additional charge". When I arrived to have the hitch installed, no mention was made about the wiring until the job was done and I received a $420 invoice. Todd gave me a story about how the original owner must have removed the "module" because there were all kinds of compartment hatches removed, and things out of place in the carriage of the vehicle. Little did he know that the original owner was my father and he has never removed anything, nor has he been into the carriage of the vehicle. The vehicle only has 30,000 miles on it, and is in impeccable condition. I then called my father to confirm that nothing had been removed from the vehicle, and he went on to tell me that the vehicle had never even been taken to the shop! I was taken advantage of by this establishment, and I would never recommend anyone taking their car there. It was clear to me, from sitting in the waiting room and watching them conduct business, that they were concerned only about money and not about the customer. Furthermore, the telephone rang constantly while employees just stood around and talked to each other, or to visitors that had come in to the lobby. I can't imagine how this place is still in business. more

I have given this place my patronage several times over the years with very good results. They seem to be consistently competent and honest. Unfortunately they have some attitude issues they need to work on. Admittedly I was at fault, driving over their lawn after turning in one drive too late. However, their drive is significantly before their actual place of business. Secondly, pulling back out on 17-92 to do a U turn then come back around and do another U turn would be quite dangerous. So, I drove over their little patch of grass to pull into their lot. Immediately, this lady comes over Nd starts scolding me like I was a kid (I am close to 50 and reasonably well mannered. After apologizing profusely I suggested they might want to block off access better or post a sign. As it is, it almost appears like there is a space left to pull through on purpose. Her reaction was to shake her head in disgust. I hate to say it but I believe I will now have to find somewhere else to spend my money more

I wish everyone I knew could take their car here. This family run business is the only place my family takes their cars. They are highly skilled in every aspect of a car & always do the right thing. more
