This location is the best. Super friendly, fast service, great and consistent prices. I've had everything from shoes fixed, purses cleaned, tight heels stretched to having extra holes put in my expensive belts because they didn't fit anymore. I have 3 ASH closer to my house, but I will drive out of my way to see the nice gentlemen at this location. more

Worst Customer Service EVER 3/1/2012

I hate even giving them 1 start. I do believe that the negative comments below are stated correctly and fairly. First off, the work is okay but the prices are way too expensive. I bought a Groupon $25 for $50 and that didn't really matter. Second, Caleb aka Mr. Cheerful is one of the rudest people I have ever come across in customer service. It would have killed him to crack a smile each time I came in and unfortunately I had to deal with him each time. Finally, when the quality of the work fell short of my expectations of what I was paying ($30 orthodics) he replied "I'll speak with the manager to see if he wants to do anything about it." Really? See if he wants to do anything about it? SO I guess customer satisfaction is not high on their list. I will never spend one more dollar with them at any of their stores. I will look to do business elsewhere. Pros: null Cons: null more

Mediocre and Pricey. 11/18/2011

Quality was mediocre, that is when one would take in account the price I was charged for the work. Pros: null Cons: null more

Best Service at a Reasonable Price 5/25/2011

The staff at the Austin Shoe Hospital are extremely friendly and professional. They are great at explaining what needs to be done and what options are available to you to repair your shoes or make a briefcase or piece of luggage look like new again. I always go away feeling that I recieved a good value for the service that was delivered. If you try them once, you will keep going back. more

Small Town Feeling in a Big City 5/24/2011

Our family has been going to Austin Shoe Hospital since we have been in Austin - over 15 years. Joe and his staff are great. The service is great - of course Joe makes the place!! He always has a smile on his face - he calls everybody by name. They do amazing work.....the shoes look new when you get them back!!!! Many thanks Joe and staff for all your continued work and service all these years...... more

Please, stay away!! 4/18/2011

This is the worst customer service I've received in 50 years. Joe Saenz is rude and has a severe attitude problem. They didn't deliver when they said they would and then act like it was my fault. If I treated my customers that way, I'd be out of business.\r \r Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There are other much more reliable and friendly shoe repair options. This place doesn't deserve you business and they certainly won't have mine again. more

Sole Service 5/23/2009

I've been going to The Austin Shoe Hospital for 20 years and I always receive great service and a quality job. Joe, the manager, always recognizes me and says hello. And by the way, this is a locally owned and family operated company. Austin Shoe Hospital will always have my business. more

Your shoes don't have to retire! 11/5/2008

I love Austin Shoe Hospital. I can't tell you how many shoes I've taken there that I had no hope of recovering, only to see them emerge as gorgeous as when I bought them. Amazing! more

Poor Quality & Over-priced 8/24/2008

Took my golf shoes in to get the soles reattached. I though $45 was excessive but was willing to pay to have it done professionally. Picked them up and there was dried glue all over my shoes. Guy said that was pretty standard. What? I probably could have done an equally bad job myself with a $3 tube of rubber cement and a paint brush. Pros: My soles are attached Cons: My shoes are covered in dried glue. more

Best service I've ever had. 6/2/2008

Best service I've ever had. I've taken three pairs of my favorite boots here already. more

Don't go here! They will throw out your stuff without calling you! 9/13/2007

I had purchased a new suitcase when I noticed the roller case was cracked. My warranty said to take it to an authorized repair place, which was the Austin Shoe Hospital. I took it in and was told that they would have to contact the company to order a part for it since they did not have wheel casings in stock. I was told it could be six weeks or more depending on how fast they received the parts, and that they would call me. Well, five months went by and no one called. And since I was in the area, I dropped in to check. After some serious searching, they found my suitcase in the back, on the top shelf. They gave it to me to take home saying it was fixed, but it was in the same cracked condition I brought it to them. Nothing was done!\r \r The manager (I believe his name was Joe) apologized and said he would personally take care of it and call the company and let me know what was going on. Well, I never heard back from him. When I did finally make it back into that part of town, I was told more

I won't be going back... disorganized and lack of service 9/13/2007

I am not happy with ASH? I brought new wheeled Eddie Bauer duffle bag under warranty for them to fix. ASH said it would be several weeks before they would be able to work on it since they would have to order the part and that they would call me when my luggage was fixed. No problem? except they never called. I went by there several months later and showed them my claim ticket to ask about my item. They couldn't find it ! They searched for about ten minutes before finding it in the back, on the top shelf. It was long forgotten and not fixed. They apologized and said they would call the manufacturer for the part and call me when it was ready. Well, months later, no call? Pros: Friendly at first but changed when they couldn't locate my item and it all became my fault Cons: Disorganized and not customer oriented, pricey, delays in getting item back more

Extend the life of your shoes forever! 8/28/2006

Before Austin Shoe Hospital, I would buy new dress shoes frequently. Not anymore. They can repair my worn-out shoes and bring them back to life (over and over again). Their service is friendly and they do very nice work. I have been using them for a couple of years now, and I highly recommend them. They are pricey, but not as expensive as buying new shoes frequently. Pros: Can save even the most distressed shoes. Excellent service. Your shoes are practically like new when they are done with them. Cons: Somewhat expensive ... but not as expensive as new shoes. You must remember your claim slips. more
