Augie's Numero Number 1 Restaurant & Pizza

My favorite place to eat in Danbury. The best pomodoro around. I order take out at least once a week more

I recently made a reservation for eight people at Numero Uno for 6:30pm. I made the reservation at 2:30pm and our party arrived at 6:20pm. We first were told our table would be ready shortly, and we did see an open table for eight at the front of the restaurant. We waited for 30 minutes in the doorway with not so much as a word from the maiterdee. finally after another 10 minutes I had to ask when we our table would be ready and was told the kitchen was unable to accomadate our party, for at least another 30 to 40 minutes, the maiterdee tells us this as he continues to seat smaller parties of two and three people. The Numero Uno maiterdee needs to work on his service skills and to understand the word reservation. Don't take a reservation if they mean nothing to you. Needless to say we left and patronized another restaurant more

They have a ton of instruments to offer at very good prices. They just changed their location but it is very easy to find and there is no one else who compares to them in the area. PROS: Only one in the area. CONS: more

DINING AREA IS VERY COZY AND LIGHTING IS ROMANTIC. WAIT STAFF IS VERY COURTEOUS AND THE OWNER IS ALWAYS PRESENT. MENU HAS A VERY GOOD VARIETY AND EVERY DISH IS MADE FRESH TO ORDER. PIZZA HAS WON AWARDS. PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS. ONE OF MY FAVORITES. more

Numero 1 is a great little Italian place in Germantown. The pizza is amazing, huge pasta servings, and they have the best chicken parm around (at least, that's what I'm told, I'm a vegetarian). My husband and I get take out from here once a week, and more often than not, we have leftovers for lunch the next day. Even better, Augie's back to the business! He is the heart of Numero 1; a great, charming, guy. more
