Had a bathroom remodeled. It was gutted and the quality of the tub and surround is like cheap plastic. Light bar above the medicine cabinet isn't exactly what we ordered. They tried to push off something else until I insisted I wanted the one that was agreed upon in the :contract"". Called the company rep to explain about the tub not being ""seated right"" and the caulking around the tub and surround. Also told him about caulking not done at the top of the surround. Every time we'd use the shower or the tub we'd hear a cracking or popping noise. Told the rep again about this and was told it's just the caulking adjusting to the weight in the tub. Later noticed a musty, mildew odor in the bathroom. Recently, got tired of excuses and checked the tub the next time I heard the cracking noise. There is a 6+ inch crack in the bottom of the tub. Reason is clearly that there is no support beneath the main body of the tub. Husband tried calling the number given and it's no longer in service. 800 # he was given is to a Sex Hot Line. We've been scammed big time. Even their bank that we have the loan from isn't reachable by phone. You have to write. What are the chances that your letter will get to the proper person???? We're reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau and to the Consumer Protection Agency. We've also contacted the local authorities about these people. Don't be pressuered into even considering having them do work in your home. Cons: Not consumer oriented, pressure you into agreeing more

I received service from Atlantic Home Builders in Nov of 2007. I got a wooden privacy fence put up in the back of my home. The first incident was before I got the fence done I had to call the company at least 3 or 4 times to find out when they would be coming out to put the fence up. They for some reason have a hard time communicating with their customers. Every time I called I would speak with Larry, and he would tell me to hold on so he can call the guy in charge of putting up the fence. He said the weather is the issue. They finally came out and started the job. Once the fence was up, I noticed the wood they used is very thin. I asked the workers about this and I was told that this is the wood they use. I got two gates with the wooden fence for an entry and exit in and out of my back yard and alley way.The locks on the gate are so hard to use. The latch that locks the gates gets stuck all the time. The latch on the outside for people to enter constantly falls out. I was told the locks are fine I just don't know how to use them. I showed the worker the locks; he said I need to open them with more force. This is odd being that the locks are BRAND NEW! I am finding that the wood is splitting and the posts are splitting. The panels are coming off of the post.I called about this problem and when they finally came out they told me that someone must have been pulling on the fence that is why the panels of wood are coming off of the post.He proceeded to tell me that if it continues to happen they will not keep fixing it. There are nails popping out of the fence, which makes me very nervous because my two year could get hurt. I called and left the company a voicemail and still have not heard anything from them. I will continue to call until someone comes out to fix these problems.I did not pay $4800 for a horrible job like this.I wouldn't recommend anyone get work done from this company.This company is only out to get your money and they do not stand by their work. We had work done by this company. The siding, soffits and gutter work was good but that is it. We had interior shoddy work completed by this company. During the sales pitch, we were to get ""itemized"" charges, NEVER happened. The entry door- the entry door and sidelites are not hung correctly and the trim at the toe kick area is falling off. There is a gap that we have been told the entire door needs to be replaced along with the framing. They never painted the door or side lights as they should have and now we have rust spots on it. We had carpet and pergo flooring done throughout the house- the carpet has waves in it in every room and the pergo flooring work was gaps and spaces and was never completed. Trim is missing and the company never came out to correct the problem. The heater and ac unit leak water when the AC unit is running. We need to place buckets under the drain pipes. Larry is rude and very unprofessional. They only guarantee the work for 1 year and don't respond when you have problems in the first year. BEWARE- These guys are HORRIBLE. The quality stinks and service is bargian basement. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE ATLANTIC HOME BUILDERS. more
