The right fit. 7/9/2007

I've always known that having a bike that fits can add immeasurably to your enjoyment of cycling. But for years getting the right fit seemed elusive at best--even my custom Seven never felt quite right. Last September that changed when I discovered ATA Cycle in Concord, a real neighborhood bike shop with the best high-end equiment around and a smart, friendly staff who knows what they're taking about. I got fit by Husam, who spent three times more time fitting me than the shop where I bought my custom bike! I rode out of the store a week later on a Look 585 that fits like a tailored suit--it's more comfortable, I ride about 1 mph or more faster than before on my standard routes, and I have the best, coolest, top-of-the-line components on the planet--like StrongLight cranks, an Selle SMP saddles, and Reynolds bars. You won't get, bottom-line, Internet prices, but you do get great value and advice--well worth a couple of extra bucks to make sure this shop stays in Concord. more

Best bike fitting, service, high-end bicycles 7/7/2007

If you are looking for the best pro bike fitting, this the THE store to go to. The owner, Husam, is a real pro. They are selling high-end bicycles, such as italian and french road racing bikes. The serivce I experienced was fantastic. I went to the store to get a bike fitted that I had just bought at another store and that gave me problems. Husam convinced me that the bike was not fitting my proportions and I ended up buying a new one. Having a bike that fits really changed my cycling abilities. My speed and endurance increased because the pain in my shoulders, back, hands, and butt is gone. They gave me a substantial discount on the bike and even sold my old one on eBay for me. I spent more than I wanted, but it was so worth it! I would recommend the store to anyone who is interested in serious cycling. They have no attitude, spend a lot of time with you, and they have the most beautiful bikes around. Pros: Best service, professionalism, expertise, high-end bicycles, expert fitting, no attitude Cons: Far from where I live; busy, so better get there early; be prepared to spend more than you think more

no regrets! 4/17/2007

I bought a new bike after Husam gave me a new fitting. He recommended a few changes that would improve my fit, power and fluidity on the bike. I have knee problems and have had 2 serious back surgeries so change is always hard for me if I think I have a ""good enough ""fit. But I trusted Husam and am here to say he got me totally dialed in and I don't think that I have ever felt this smooth and strong on the bike as I do now!!! He told me I was set to far back on the saddle and that this was causing me to pedal with my lower back and put too much pressure on my knees and he as correct, again!!!. In all the time I have known him every suggestion he has made has taken my cycling up a notch and this time is no exception. If you are looking to make a change in your cycling at any level put yourself in the Master's hands at ATA. Barbara I was on my yearly diabetes week long tour when my carbon crank arm became loose, the result of a crash I had the month before. I had to abondon the ride which was a big loss for me. I came directly to see Husam and Robin. They fixed my bike with campy record cranks and I have to say this is my first exp with Italian components and I was sold!!! I only ride Italian bikes but this was my first campy crank and BB and it is sweet!! Moves like BUTTER!!!!. I trust my cycling to the folks at ATA and have never been steered off course. Their willingness to stand behind their work and products is unmatched in the market place! July 2009 I have been going to this shop since it opened and absolutely love it. I have owned 3 different bikes, bought wheels, components, a trainer etc. I love the fact that the owner is so smart and capable about his products, and stands behind his shop 100%. I have never been let down or disapponted by any advice or info or products that I bought there. My cycling has improved 110% since I started doing business with them. I would not hesistate to refer anyone who is interested in improving their riding to go there. The state of the art sizing equiptment will help even the most challenged rider to get dialed in correctly. The people who work at the shop strive to be helpful and accomodating where they can be depending on what the customer is looking to do. I would recommend this shop without reservations. Pros: products, staff, state of art equiptment and know how Cons: not close enough to my house more
