Best

I've been coming to asuka for little awhile now, I've always had their sushi which is great however, I tryed their kitchen item for the firest time. I must say it was unexpectedly...

Worst

Half size rolls compared to better sushi in the area. Shiki Sushi near Southpoint mall and Tazu it's sister restaurant in Brier Creek are amazing. Asuka is good but just doesn't ...

Lousy prices...Atrocious service 1/9/2008

If you like waiting 30 minutes for sushi then this is the place for you. After 30 minutes of waiting, I got a lame asss excuse handed to me, and after getting compensated on the bill by only 10%, I don't think I'll be headed back. Cons: Too many to list more

What a restaurant. 11/12/2007

I went back for the first time since the remodelling of the place. Wow!! Nice setting for a great dine-out. very clean and romantic. Fodd was delicious, but most of all, very fresh. The presentation was also good. People working there were very nice. I am definitely going back again with my girl friend. The price was a bit high, but worth it. I don't like cheap Japanese restaurant with cheap and loud people. Mmmm...had a great time. Pros: Great food, great service. Cons: Little longer time to be served. more

Best Sushi Restaurant in the area!!! 11/12/2007

I went there for the 1st time tonight. Impressive and very nice setting. better than any japanese restaurant I have ever been to in RTP area. Very friendly service. Excellent food. Fresh and clean. Definitely worth paying to enjoy dining out and romantic time. Loved it. Will go back soon. Pros: Great interior and fresh tasty food. Cons: Had to wait to be seated. more

Up and down service and food quality. Used to be a very nice restaurant. 11/11/2007

I had ups and downs with this restaurant. I work near by so I visit frequently even if I had a bad experience. The food is good for most part. Sometimes you get a bad piece here and there but I guess to be expected in these tough times. Food I can handle but service is what gets me. I hold my self from complaining and arguing with them about anything much as possible. Its a good place to dine but just remember, no restaurant is perfect all the time. Pros: Good food most of the time, inside is pretty Cons: inconsistant food and service more

Very stale sushi, not edible, not fresh, too expensive. 11/2/2007

If you want stale smelly sushi, then this is the place. I know they have remodeled, and I had been here 4 times for lunches and had always really enjoyed the sushi. Tonight Nov 2nd, I cannot believe the low quality of fish I was served, for a $65 dinner. It was definitely my absolute last visit at Asuka. I do not recommend it. Pros: Nice remodeled insides Cons: Quality of sushi, Quality of fish, Quality of food!!! more

Asuka Bento 5/15/2007

It's a great place for lunch or dinner. Personally, I get the Asuka Bento b/c it comes with a great variety of items. 4-6 pieces of sashimi, 4 nigiri, 8 maki, several pieces of tempura, calamari salad, seaweed salad, garden salad, other miscellaneous pieces (yes, you get it ALL). It's a much better price than if you order each of these a la carte. Pros: Fresh sushi, great menu selection Cons: Service can get slow if they're busy more

Our regular sushi haunt- love it! 3/16/2007

After going to just about every Japanese restaurant in the area, this is still our favorite, now more than ever. Pros: YUM... great sushi and nice ambiance. Cons: Service a tad slow and some bright garsih lights over certain seats. more

Great Lunch and Sushi 3/1/2007

The RTP has very limited lunch options, if you're sick of fast food or sandwiches, but a quick lunch at Asuka is just what we need. It seems that I wasn't alone either. Great crowd for lunch, but there was no wait and the food came out pretty quick. I'd recommend the Asuka special lunch. It had everything. I couldn't finish it all, shrimp, sushi, sashimi, salad, rolls. The sushi was fresh as was the tempura, right out the frier, but not too greasy. I haven't been there for dinner yet, but they seem to have great specials at night. I'll have to check it out soon. The only drawback is their location, but if you can find them, you won't go anywhere else. Good job on the decor too. Modern looking but too pretentious. Prices was what you would expect, not too much, and you definitely get what you pay for. My friends had the grilled chicken and beef and they couldn't finish their portions either. Overall, a great experience, will have to try them at night to see if they keep it up. Pros: Good value, great sushi, Big portions Cons: Kind of hidden, in Morrisville. more

Grocery store quality sushi at fine dining prices and aweful presentation! Don't waste your time or money! 1/31/2007

I tried this place a couple years ago for take out sushi and was pretty unimpressed with the small portions and mediocre rice as well as the rolls not holding together very well. I hadn't been back since but thought they deserved a second chance since it's just a couple minutes from my office. Today was even more unimpressive and I will not be going back. To start with, both the rolls I ordered were apparently from an old menu so when I got there my food wasn't even started. Next I'm handed the new menu which has considerable price increases across the board but I figured ""Hey, I'm here"". So I ordered the closest thing I could find to what I had originally ordered and took a seat. After about 15 minutes I was handed my order and I headed out the door. I really wish I had checked the container before leaving. When I got back to work I found both the rolls I ordered piled on top of each other and the sauces from each has gotten all over both as well as a few pieces had fallen apart completely. I was really unhappy that the $20 takeout I ordered contained very skinny rolls that together didn't fill half of a take out foam container. On to the taste...just a small step above supermarket sushi (in fact not as good as some supermarkets). The rice was a bit dry and chewy (probably why the rolls fall apart) and the amount of fish and vegetables in each bite is barely enough to taste them. Pros: Can't think of any besides it being close to my office Cons: Price, quality, presentation....what more is there? more

good stuff 1/19/2007

they had some good food. the service was ok. we had a big group, so it was hard to judge how they normally do. Pros: food more

Wonderful sushi 1/7/2007

We had an exceptional meal here last week. The size and creativity of their rolls is outstanding, as was the quality of fish used. Several days later I'm still thinking about the tastes and craving more. Although their sushi prices are a bit higher than normal, there is more fish included in each roll than in other area restaurants. And the house salad is double the typical size served- quite filling! The menu is based on pictures, which is kind of funny but useful to some extent. We have now visited most of the sushi restaurants in the Raleigh/Cary area and this is probably our favorite. Waraji does not compare. Pros: great atmosphere and sushi, easy to park more

Great Sushi 11/30/2006

I've been to every well known sushi restaurant in the triangle and this is absolutely up there with my top three. I would say that of all the places I've been, I've NEVER had a so-so roll here. The rolls are always fresh and there are some very unique and creative choices. So if super fresh and filled with flavor is important to you, try the sushi here!! Love the staff - they are friendly and always remember me! more

I woul not recomend to eat here. 11/14/2006

Everything was so bad. Service was rude too.First of all the greentea smelled like coffee. I bet they are using rhe same hot water to make the tea from coffee maker.I regret that I went there and eat and I had payed for it.Of course I will never going back there again. more

Decent sushi 10/10/2006

Someone at work brought me here for lunch, as it was the closest restaurant to the office. The service was very good, the sushi was adequate, the servings were very large. The Asuka bento box for lunch was enormous, a good value. I would not rave about it, but I would go back. more

How sad! 10/9/2006

This used to be my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area, until they remodeled. Pros: Good Sushi/Food Cons: New Atmosphere, Price more

Like the new look 8/27/2006

Great sushi, reasonable prices. I started coming here last year, and the new rennovation looks like a totally new restaurant. The food is still excellent, and the new decor is sharp. Sushi is just as good as I remembered if not better. Yakiniku steak and sukiyaki are still awesome. It's nice to have something to do in Morrisville at night ( besides drive to raleigh). The Tatami rooms are gone now, but the place really looks a lot more open and less clausterphobic. Definitelt reccomended. Pros: Great service, food and atmosphere Cons: no more tatami rooms more

recently renovated. food was okay. 7/8/2006

it recently got renovated. owner completely changed the mood and style of the restaurant. it looks like a chic upscale steakhouse now. Wait staff was courteous and attentive. I liked the food. It wasn't great..just good. I had the ribeye steak . Food was cooked simply without overspicing. I like the food portions, wasn't too big, but I thought it was a little overpriced. Pros: service, food more

Best Sushi Hands Down 2/26/2006

We recently discovered this gem of a restaurant in Morrisville. The ambience was great and our waiter was one of the best. We brought our 2 children and he could not have been more attentive. The sushi chefs were also great and called for them to come up and watch. They had a blast! The food was fantastic and we were even given complementary dessert. The only downside to some may be the price, but I think it was well worth it for the quality of both the food and service. Pros: Staff, Ambience, Food Cons: Price more
