Associates In Womens Health: Thomas Terrie R MD

I switched to Dr. Terrie after the gyn that I used to have told me that I had abnormal cells and that he wanted to remove half my cervix and I would become infertile but not have to worry about the chance of cancer. He wasn't willing to do a biopsy or colposcope or anything else that he should. Dr Terrie right away made me feel so much more relaxed. She sat down and discussed everything with me without rushing. She then went on to perform a colposcope, punch biopsy, and ecc. The results came back in 4 days. Never in my life have I seen them back so fast. She called me with my results and sat on the phone with me for 23 mins explaining to me and going over all my options. She was very comforting and helpful. She also told me I could call her back or go see her if I wanted to talk some more. I'm only 26 and I was scared to death to have a leep done bc I want to have more children after I get married. After talking to her, I'm not scared anymore and I know that I will have no problem with future pregnancy/childbirth. She's a kind/caring/through doctor. She has great bedside manner. If you need something done and you can't afford it, she will try to help get you into Earl k long and she doesn't have to do that for you. more

I agree that Dr. Thomas is a great doctor, however when I realized a few of her office staff were former drug heads and questionable to say the least I was a little weary about continuing with my visit. This office needs to conduct background checks and drug screens. Your personal business is shared out of this office, as the staff is all related and or friends so the gossip is rampant. Dr. Thomas' medical asst who calls herself a nurse is rude and defensive. I would love to visit an office where I could be sure the staff has been properly screened and have the necessary qualifications. more

After having several miscarriages, and twins that died at birth, I went to Dr. Thomas. She and her staff are wonderful, caring and kind people. I never thought I would be able to have a child, but Dr. Thomas made it happen! I went into labor at 5 months into my pregnancy and was put on strict bedrest. Everytime I called in I received a return call on the same day. Dr. Thomas also advised me that if I needed to just come in without an appointment she would be happy to see me no matter what. After 2 kidney infections and 4 stays in the hospital I finally had my beautiful daughter. I am tearing up just thinking about how God sent me to her. They are all the reason my little angel is here. She was born on May 3, 2010 and is very healthy and happy. I also had a c-section and you can barely see a scare. I highly recommend Sr. Thomas. She is definately one of God's angels on this earth!!! more

I had my baby back in 2008. Dr Thomas was so nice and so caring it made the whole experience very pleasant. Her bed side manner is wonderful. The wait time can be a bit long but that's because she doesn't rush people and answers any questions they have. So I had no problem with waiting. I had to have a C-section with the baby and my husband was very impressed with how much time she put in to making sure the cut was going to be straight and even. It's been over two years and you can barely see a scare, most people I see with C-section scars have dark red marks and are bumping and crooked. I got an IUC put in six weeks after Dr. Thomas put me in such ease that it hardly even hurt. Since then coming for my annul apportionment she remembers my baby's name and my husbands name. The staff has always been really nice as well, I've read a few complaints about them but I never experienced and of it. All and all I will defiantly be going to Dr. Thomas with every baby that I have! more

I have read some of these reviews and am completely shocked. First off I am NOT a staff member or in any way affiliated with this office other than being a patient! Dr. Thomas was the best doctor I have ever been to. I went to the office for Dr. Harris originally but ended up with Dr. Thomas and I couldn't be happier with the experience. It was my first pregnancy and if I get pregnant again I will definitely be back. She was so sweet and calming. I never had to worry about anything. Yes sometimes I had to wait extra long at appointments but they were emergency situations and she is a Dr so I expected that. I went into labor 6 weeks early and she was there everyday. I was so impressed with her that when my sister got pregnant a couple months after me I referred her to Dr. Thomas and she felt the same way. She ended up with G. Diabetes and was so scared about going into labor and Dr. T not being there but Dr. T assured her that no matter what she would be there and she was! Even though she was on vaca. she stopped in every few hours to check on her and even gave my sister her personal cell # to have the nurses call if she needed her for any reason , whether for delivery or just assurance. I have trusted her with my life and my baby's and would do so again! more

I started seeing Dr. Thomas for my annual and I was highly impressed with her manner, her warmth and her desire to get to know me as a patient. However, I have had unending issues with her staff. Her nurse never sent my refill for my birth control to my pharmacy, nor did she return REPEATED calls and faxes from me or my pharmacy. I ran out of birth control and finally had to call and demand to speak to another nurse. I've also had to call for other reasons and I'll get calls back 2 and 3 days after the fact. I work in a medical office and I'm disgusted with the lack of attention to the patient by Dr. Thomas' staff, to the point where I have strongly considered finding another Gyn. Long story short- great physician but the nurse ruins it. Pros: Caring, professional dr. Cons: Terrible nurse more

After relocating to the area, I went to Dr. Thomas as a new patient during the early weeks of my pregnancy. She had absolutely no bedside manner. She corrected me any chance she could, as if to show off her knowledge instead of explaining things appropriately. After my exam, while I was waiting for an ultrasound, she came out and handed me a prescription in front of others and didn't bother to explain anything about it to me. It ended up being contraindicated during the first tri-mester, which i was in, so I did not take/use it. I dreaded having to call her office and speak to any member of the rude staff there. I had never had an experience like that at any other physician's office, much less my prior two OB's. After 2 or 3 visits, I couldn't take it any longer and found a new doctor that I saw throughout my pregnancy and afterwards. I am so grateful I did that because she would have put a lot of unneeded stress on me. I also think that any of these positive reviews are either fake and from her staff, or someone who goes for routines check-ups only. I would not trust her with something as important as your unborn child's life. Do not go to this doctor unless you are going only for your annual. She is too young, and I don't even think she is board certified. She is not assertive on important issues. Further, her staff is no better. The same nurse could never pronounce my last name right even though I corrected her over 10 times! She just rolled her eyes at me. I recall having an unplanned surgery to correct complictions from a previous surgery, and not having Dr. Thomas as my physician at the time. She came to visit me everyday in the hospital as Dr. Harrris was out, but her warmth and compassion was the determing factor for me in making her my physician. I love the AWH staff and understand that if at anytime I need assistance, calls are returned timely. I trust Dr. Harris and Dr. Thomas in my care, and would recommend anyone looking for A-1 care to visit the AWH family. Pros: Welcoming, warm, inviting Cons: can't think of any more

My experience under the care of Dr. Thomas was a very bad one, only compounded by her lack of communication and thoroughness, and her unprofessional staff. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone who desires a doctor who shares information readily. Further, her nurse lacks even the smallest trace of bedside manner. I learned of a certain important test result only when picking up my records. Very unprofessional. Dr. Terri Thomas is the best female doctor i have ever been to . she is very sweet and very understanding. i have never felt so comfortable with another doctor. she explains things verry well and makes you at ease. more

Dr. Puyau delivered all three of my children. I recommend her to all my friends. She makes an uncomfortable situation (you know what I mean) as comfortable as possible. Her nurses are just as great as she is. Two thumbs up Dr. Puyau. Pros: Great friendly staff Cons: Sometimes the weight time is long. more

I recently switched to Dr. Terrie Thomas who is also a Ob/Gyn in Dr. Puyau's office. Dr. Thomas was kind, compassionate, thorough, knowledgeable and caring. I would recommend Dr. Thomas. Pros: Dr. Terrie Thomas is the greatest ob/gyn, ever. Everyone should switch to her. more
