Ripped off 2/8/2012

Ripped off by the store...we got our living room set 2 years back from the store along with the 5 year warranty plan. Now the leather in my 2 seater is ripping off and the warranty company (Montage services) said they cannot fix this - the problem is because of ""AGING"" (?). After several calls, a technician from Ashley came and he said the rip is because of our BODY HEAT and if we pay $400, Ashley can fix it for us... Is there a better way to get cheated...DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY...SAVE YOUR MONEY... more

Worst customer experience by far 6/24/2011

Really poor service. Furniture ordered didn't arrive in time and there was no communication from the store about thedelay. Reaching customer service was painful and spent more than 20 mins on hold...\r We ordered 4 pieces of furniture and it has taken a month to get only 2 pieces the rest two will take another couple of weeks...Dont expect the furniture to arrive at time more

Great experience, product and customer service! 2/16/2011

I have not shopped for furniture in a long time, but several friends at work suggested Ashley as they had bought there and said that they liked it. I went in about a week ago and saw a few things that I liked, but I wanted to look at other places first. Star was overpriced and the salesman at Rooms to go was too pushy, so I went back to Ashley. My salesperson, Jim, remembered my name which was impressive. We narrowed down my choices to 2 sofa groups. Jim introduced me to the store manager and after chatting about everything besides furniture, he and Jim helped me decide on a good group for me. You don't find this kind of service many places. I was very impressed. I wanted to tell everyone my story because it seems that all everyone on here writes is a bad experience. The people that have a good experience just keep quiet. Well....not me. I appreciate it when a business hires good people and they give me good service. I had a few issues with delivery, but the store took care of me....THAT'S GOOD BUSINESS FOLKS. Issues come up....but good people take care of their customers. Thanks Ashley...I'll definitely shop there again. more

OK Furniture - Crappy Delivery Service 1/9/2011

Wife and I visited this location and didn't experience the usual salesman hovering over us as we were dressed quite casually and I was unshaven. Probably figured we were just lookers and that attitude did not bother me. When we did find something we liked we searched for a salesman and found 3 standing around and one was willing to help us though there wasn't much interest until we said we were going to buy. Again, not a problem. When we asked how much the delivery fee was he checked the computer and came up with $59 which was for the ""white glove"" experience. Overall the buying experience was ok. On delivery day, we initially were told 24 hrs earlier on telephone confirmation that delivery would occur between 2:30 -5:30 pm. On the day of delivery, Chris called and stated that they had many delivery cancellations and could they come by between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. I said sure and adjusted my time for accomplishing some chores. Delivery people showed up at 1:20 pm again not a biggie. The reason for the 1 star is that at the time of delivery it was raining quite hard and they brought the sofa out of the truck without any cover over it. When they put it in the living room they didn't even put it in the location requested and got quite upset when I asked them to move it to where I wanted it. Also, when I asked them to wipe the rain water off the sofa (faux leather) they refused. If this was ""white glove""delivery I would hate to see ""non-white glove delivery"". I would probably have to carry the sofa off the truck. Doubt I will be back again as furniture prices are not so good that they overcome poor delivery/customer service. Other furniture store prices are about the same or better with sales. more

Don't Believe anything they say! 9/16/2010

Found what we wanted... no problem... ordered it and paid... no problem... but when the delivery guys ran out of the house like a couple of jumping beans... took a closer look at the product, and noted that a glass window was installed incorrectly (partially hanging out)... there is absolutely no customer service... call the service number and sit on hold for over a half of an hour... told they will call you back (They won't) call the store... they will tell you they can't help you... go to the store and they will act like they are helping you until you actually leave... was told they would make sure someone from service calls you and will call you themselves in 2 hours (They won't) They tell you that you can send an item back within 14 days of delivery... It's been 2 days, and I can't get a hold of anyone to arrange a pick up... I am contemplating bringing the items to the store where I purchased them. I will be the guy standing outside of this store holding the sign that states BUYER BEWARE! I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER EVER BEING TREATED SO CRAPPY FROM A STORE! It is almost like they think that they are government employees who you are forced to buy from. Take my advice and stay away from this substandard company. more

I wish I had read the reviews 3/9/2010

I spent $2K+ for reclining leather sofa and loveseat. In less than 3 months, seats on sofa started sinking. We hadn't used loveseat much so it appeared ok.This is approx 4-5months of use with 2 light weight individuals using it for 2hrs a day or so. \r I called Ashley customer service and asked for replacement. They refused and said they will do the repairs. Their technician arrived, did the survey and we were told parts will be ordered and shipped to my home in 2-4 weeks. So, here comes february and parts arrived. Their technician showed up and told us that he is missing the parts he ordered. Not only that, the time allotted for his work was 1 hour while it needed 3hours with 2 people. So, he submitted another report for missing parts. From that day till now, I have called up Ashley cust svc twice but they still don't know which parts are missing. \r \r My friend who purchased same unit with just couple hundred bucks more from roomstore more has been using it for 3yrs without any issue.\r \r So, a useless product and hopeless customer service is what you get from Ashley. BE WARNED!! Cons: Pathetic product and worst customer service more

Really Bad Management 3/8/2010

My elderly mother went in to get a bedroom set, the sales man wrote up everything, she was doing it on their finance program so he gave the finance people the information. We took pictures that day of what she ordered since she was going to buy the items one piece at a time, since she's on a fixed income. She wanted the pictures so she could make sure to get all the correct items. The salesman Paul told her not to send the product back if there is a problem just let him know and he'll fix it. Upon deliver she thought the bed frame was wrong, but she was sick when she felt better she went to them and told them about the issue. They told her the price they charged her matched the furniture she received, but it's not what she told them she wanted. I went back up there with her this weekend, the manager's were rude, dismissive and unwilling to assist her. She didn't want anything free the item cost more and she was willing to pay for it, but they wouldn't do anything. The Manager told us what he was told but that he didn't look at it himself, and they wont correct the problem. She's upset because she's stuck with a bed and mattress set that she doesn't like. The salesman Paul who wrote down the wrong information wouldn't even come and talk with us, he just kept telling us it's up to Management. It was his fault for writing the wrong information, but no apologies he just hide in another part of the store. I'm was really disappointed in his lack of back bone and taking owner-ship. Pros: Fake At Looking Good Cons: When they make a mistake, watch out more

Horrible Customer Service and Quality 3/17/2009

If I could give a negative rating, I would. Customer service appears to exists only to tell you why they won't support a claim on a newly purchased part. Ashley furniture uses a third party service, that the consumer pays for, to subsidize any issues or support for their product. Not only did I report the problem in detail within a couple of days of delivery (a glass stain on a BAR caused by a condensing glass on a marble surface after a singular usage); it took them over two weeks of hemming and hawing before I received a ""is not covered by manufacturers warranty. We're sorry, but you will have to use your extended warranty on your newly purchased part."" My product was only 4 DAYS OLD! And now, once used, I cannot use my extended warranty on this product again as it only covers the product for one replacement/issue. I do not recommend Ashley Furniture to anyone buying furniture. Sure it looks good; but that's where the story ends. I will not shop there again. Cons: Quality Support and Customer Service more

I've gotten better customer service at Target! Bad customer service, bad quality furniture! 3/8/2008

I bought a table and chairs set from ashely furniture and two of the chairs didn't come with the corect legs. I called customer service to order some new legs and they said it would take 3-4 weeks. Well now the legs are on back order. From the time that I picked up the table to the time that the legs are suppost to come, it will have been over 3 months that I have two useless chairs, and that is if the cahir legs aren't ""back-ordered"" again. They say that I cannot exhange the chairs for other ones because I did not pay the $250 delivery charge for a $400 table. They offerred me a $50 ""giftcard"" but it is only good in Austin or San Antonio and I have sinced moved to Houston, which was the reason I was buying furniture in the first place. You can get the same deal/value at other stores, so you might as well go there were they have real warrenties and quality goods. The ""Ashley Homestores"" are only interested in trying to sell you furniture and they don't stand behind their products, they will just tell you that it was the manufactures fault and that there is nothing they can do for you. Unless you want to wait over 3 months to have functional furniture. Cons: bad customer service, low quality furniture, high delivery charge, takes 3 months to get your furniture more

Good deals - BAD BAD BAD delivery problems 12/26/2007

Fantastic deals - but BAD BAD BAD delivery problems! We have only purchased furniture TWICE at Ashley -- and no more! - mostly due to delivering us dirty furniture the first time and their losing our furniture the second time! On both occasions, there was no compensation AT ALL for our inconvenience. \r \r The first time, the living room set we ordered was delivered with black and greasy scartches all over the top. It took them MORE THAN 9 MONTHS to send a technician out to clean it up. They did not even deliver a new replacement set. DO NOT FALL for the warranty deal -- they only send a clean-up person to come spray some furniture cleaner on the cushions and that's it. I could have done a better job on my own. \r \r The second time we decided to give Ashely one more chance, the salesperson talked us into buying an on-the-floor model, and then they lost it. When I requested a replacement, they did not let me choose a replacement set at equal value. They gave me two of the ugliest coffee-table sets to choose from. Then they send me a $50 off card (which the flor manager said over the phone ""it was $50 gift card"") -- then when I got it, it was a $50 gift card towards any purchase at Ashley's $450 and up!!!! What kind of compensation is THAT??? This was all after a 3-week late delivery, missing my wedding party at my home - which was the whole reason we got new furniture!\r \r Needless to say, we have vowed never to return to Ashley's and tell all our friends about these stories -- so we all now go to Rooms to Go or Roomstore, which has equally great bargains and next-day grease-free delivery! Pros: good value Cons: bad customer service, bad delivery, bad warranty service, bad management and exchange policies more
