Hard to reccomend this place when a sandwich and cup of soup set you back nearly 20 bucks! There are better deli options in the valley. Others have raved about the pastrami but ...

Editorial review from GrubHub 2/10/2014

I love Art's. They have some of the best deli food in LA. That said, the food is overpriced (only slightly on the surface, but keep in mind the portions tend to be a bit smaller than at other delis). However, given Jerry's outrageously high minimum delivery amount (35 bucks!), if you're just ordering delivery for yourself, you'll still probably end paying less with Art's. more

I have random lox cravings (yum!) in the morning and I'm glad I can have it delivered as well! Their scrambled eggs are good too! more

The meats were very lean as requested. Tasted great. Arrived still warm. We were very pleased with Grub Hub and Art's. more

Good breakfast - but - hash browns not good - no onions - flavor and taste so so - Id probably order from them again more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/7/2013

No longer a Work of Art. Horrible. Ordered Corn Beef on Kaiser Roll. Kaiser Roll was soft like you buy in the Grocery Store not like you get in a Jewish Deli/Bakery. Potatoe Salad tasted like made with sour cream. Husband's breakfast equally bad. Hostess was rude. Please bring it back to when Art was there. Too many good deli's to go too. Shame on you, ART. Will never go back. more

Best Deli in Los Angeles 11/25/2011

Art's deli, without a doubt, has the best pastrami and rye bread this side of the Atlantic. I eat there at least twice a week with my office mates. It beats the most popular deli's in NYC itself, the home of Kosher Deli's. The service is great. The selection of foods, sides, and bakery is fantastic. Their chopped liver is as good as mom made, and mom took great care and pride years back in making hers. The black and white cookies, just like back East, are delicious. With the parking structures across the street, the parking situation may be eased up. They do offer valet parking to alleviate the parking issue. Art's family has kept up Art's high standards without question. more

Decent food but pricey 9/13/2010

We go to Art's regularly since it's got a family vibe and is a nice size restaurant. Jerry's is a factory and no one gives a damn there. Art's business has fallen off (along with almost everyone else's business). I still feel that some of the food is too high priced especially anything with nova/lox. The one thing that should be good is not....Chicken Soup! Theirs is bland and the matzo ball is awful. I love the waitstaff. I agree with the other reviewer....."clean but overpriced." Still the best of the lot.....better than Canters, Greenblatt's, Jerry's and...the absolute worst of them all....Brent's in Northridge. more

Clean but overpriced 4/25/2010

My $12 burger, was as lifeless and the cow that contributed to it, albeit, involuntarily. You need more enthusiasm in your food, otherwise you can just get a frozen dinner at Ralphs. Place was a quarter full saturday afternoon. Pros: Clean feel Cons: Expensive more

I used to love going to Art's where the turkey and roast beef sandwiches were stacked to the ceiling. But even though the sandwiches are still thick, there is something unclean about the place. Maybe it's the fact I didn't feel well for a day after eating there? Guys, you make food, clean up your act or your customers like me will all end up at Jerry's Pros: Big sandwiches Cons: Nasty smell and it ain't cheap more

3 Dollar Cup o' Joe 6/18/2008

When you come to a deli you expect a few things, cheap food, quickly made and of decent quality. Art's Deli On Ventura is none of these things. The fruit is frozen, coffee is stale and burnt ($3/cup) even at 9 am, and the prices are as nauseating as there potato knish's. The restaurant was empty at 9 am, I can't imagine why. I came here for a meeting for a film and alls I got was a disgusting plate of eggs and potatoes. Pros: nice ventura view except for the middle eastern building across the street misplaced on the strip. Cons: Prices, pictures of sandwhiches on wall, disgusting food. more

We just ate at Arts Deli over the weekend. A few friends asked us over. We all had something different, from breakfast to sandwiches to matzo balls. All was good and the servers have been there a long while. more

Deli & Bakery 3/9/2008

Arts Deli is really good. The menu is what you would expect from an old school deli, lots of everything. I have to say the bakery items are amazing. We bought some black & white cookies. They are delicious. more

Gut Distention. Wallet Thinned. 5/6/2007

Decent food, but reminds of playing 3 card monte: I'll play but I know I'll lose 'cause I'm stupid...20 bux for a triple decker sandwich made me wince just reading it. I did like all of the pictures of sandwiches on the walls. Maybe if they go out of business I can by one for nostalgic purposes...""remember when I had that sandwich with three slices of bread?!?!? Oh man, those were the days."" Pros: Many booths, servers with experience. Pictures of meat on the walls Cons: Inflated prices and no parking - and Jinro cocktails. more
