Very Rude and extremely Slow service 9/22/2011

We have gone to this place several times and each time its a big disappointment. Service is really AWFUL, its takes for ever to get order on your table.... waiting time is not in minutes but in hours. Also the mangement is really rude. Several of our friends had the same experience, and now all of us goes to Arpeggios at the other location in down town. Also few of our friends complained that it is not kids frindly Restaurant. We are never going to this location again. more

Great Greek, Friendly Staff 12/31/2009

We love getting delivery from Arpeggio's, good hummus, baba ghanouj, love the gyro meat and chicken shawerma, greek salad was delicious, tzaziki dip, dolmas...all great basics. Didn't love their falafel but the servings are generous and the staff very nice, both for delivery and eat-in. Desserts are also something to try, especially the cheese-filled pastry. Very fairly priced. Pros: Great basic greek favorites! Cons: not the best falafel more

It's very yummy. 8/23/2009

My mother and I eat at Arpeggio at least once a week, but usually more. The restaurant is owned by a nice man and is operated by him, his sons, sister and a few others. They even know where I like to sit and it is like a second home. The buffet is surprisingly fresh and is usually available from opening till around 2 or 3 pm. If you aren't getting the buffet or are eating in the evening, then you really need to allot yourself at least 45 minutes if you need to be anywhere else. Everything is being cooked and it takes a while. The grilled vegetables are a favorite of my mother and mine. Ask for them even if you don't see it on the menu. The sandwiches (pita wrap) are massive and require three hands to eat. The gyro meat or chicken shawarma sandwich is my particular favorites. The kafta kabob plate is also good. Hummus can go with anything, as far as I know, so try some as well. Pros: The food is fresh. Cons: You should be hungry because they will give you a lot. more

slow service...rude 5/8/2009

Although me and my wife like the food here, we have experienced some really slow service the last 3 times we have been to Arpeggio Grill on a Friday evening. I understand that Fridays are typically busy for any restaurant, but seriously...these guys are the limit. \r \r The last time we went they took over an hour to deliver our food. We didn't complain but did see some other people get a bit aggravated. This time around I went up to the manager, who seemed like a nice enough guy, and complained about the fact that certain people who had come in after us had already finished their food and left. Instead of apologizing the guy started being really defensive and therefore we ended up leaving. \r \r Good food guys...but after what happened today...we are not coming back. Pros: good variety of food, nice atmosphere Cons: really slow service, rude attitude more

Great pizza, friendly service, nice atmosphere! 1/12/2009

What a pleasant surprise this humble (former Schlotsky's location) spot was for us!\r \r My friend and I went here because she heard the pizza was good. She ordered greek pizza, and I got Falafel and Shwarma......all were DELICIOUS!! We ended up getting our food to go, when we found out there was no beer or wine, and it took a little while to get our food, but it was all very good - generous portions - the greek salad that came with my dinner was MORE than enough for two, and the Greek pizza was fantastic!\r While we waited, we sat at the Middle Eastern style conversation pit.....very comfy. This was friday night and not many customers, but the staff was friendly and the decor very nice. \r Give this place a try - you WILL surely be back! I know I will!! Pros: good food, nice staff, lovely decor Cons: No beer or wine, possible wait for food..... more

Extremely GOOD Food 12/17/2008

The food was delicious. They have a menu to choose from or you can order their lunch special. It was all good, from the gyros to the falafel and the pizza. I highly recommend it for anyone, where it be for meetings (they deliver) or family gatherings. They have friendly service and the biggest pizza in town, which is about 30 inches in diameter. Great food, recommend it to anyone. Pros: New cozy look, service, taste, price, pretty much everything Cons: meats take a while to prepare (hand cook it in front of you, no heating lamps) more

Not so great..... 12/6/2008

First thing that should mention It is not a sit down and order restaurant. It is walk in, grab a tray, order and pay place. Which I don't mind as long as it is good. (Think Byblos :)) Not so much. We ordered the Hummus and Pita for appetizer. The mix Shish-ka-bob plates for entree. Note also that you can't get plain Lamb meat kabob's only ground lamb/beef. You can see the kitchen and my eating partner was leery of the Pita after seeing it being handled by our cashier with no gloves. So we ate the Hummus sans the Pita. Not bad, not overly good. The salad was fresh but comes with only a Tbsp container of dressing which was not enough. So I hoped the Kabob's would save the dinner. Again disapointed. All the meats were dry, way overcooked and tough. The rice was delicious though and the veggies good as well. \r FYI..They do not take American Express as shown in the info. So there is my story! Happy Eating. more

Good food, good price 7/25/2008

Falafel is a really tricky thing for me. If I like it, I love it; If I don't, I hate it. I like their falafel.\r \r The only thing my husband and I did wrong our first trip was order too much food: portions are as generous as they are tasty for food at this price. Pros: Family service and ambiance, homestyle food (to me I'm Sicilian) at good price Cons: The view out the window? more

BEST PIZZA AND WINGS IN TOWN !!! 7/16/2008

I was a bit hungry one day and on the way home I noticed that place on Airport blvd . I decided to give it a shot . I was really impressed with the place and the real hommy feeling that place gave . I tried their Pizza and it was out of this world . It kinda reminded me with the great , real pizza of NY . They also have a variety of mediterranian plates and my favorite are the KILLER WINGS. Pros: ALL OF THE ABOVE !!! Cons: N/A more

Great Food 6/11/2008

My husband and I both got the combo platter, it was amazing! I can't wait to go back and try more. They were so nice and everything was made fresh. Pros: Parking, service, food more

a comfy & great find!! 4/28/2008

I had the opportunity to stop into Arpeggio Grill's last week & what a pleasant surprise!! I liked to hand painted murals on the walls (feels like being in Greece) & I had the pleasure of chatting with the owners daughters (very sweet) - the food was served hot & was delicious. The best pizza this side of the Italy...happy to find this litle gem here in Austin. OOPPAH - enjoy!!!! Pros: yummy pizza, food & great parking! more

Excellent every...single...time 4/1/2008

I've been going to Arpeggio since they've opened & they've always been super-hospitable and the food never less than excellent. Everything is made fresh, so don't expect a quick in & out. My favorites are the falafel sandwich, dolma, & fresh hummus. My friends are crazy about the shawerma. They even deliver if you're in the vicinity. Recently they've made some changes to make the atmosphere a little less warehouse-y and more warm, very welcome indeed. You aren't going to find a more friendly, family-run, tasty mediterranean experience than this. Especially in this neck of the woods. Pros: Fresh food made every day, in front of you Cons: Ambience a little lacking, but improving. more
