Un Friggen Believeable 8/30/2011

8/24, 2011 I wrote this letter to ARC.. I would like to file a formal complaint and to request a refund of monies paid for an air condition repair. Air Around the Clock has been our service provider for over 12 years and we have always been satisfied with your services, however now I am extremely disgruntled. We purchased a new unit 8/22/09 from your company for $5,590.00 and the unit has a 10 year warrantee. On 8/18/2011, we came into our home realizing the air was not cooling. We both work and typically arrive home after 6pm most nights. We called for help and appreciated a repairman coming over to our home within in the hour to diagnose the problem which took all of 20 minutes. This was at a cost of $175.00 due to it being an emergency call. Then I was informed that the part was covered under warrantee but the labor was not, so the part would be ordered and installed the next day with a labor cost of $ 295.00. With 90+ degree weather in mid summer, we did not feel we had much of a choice . The part was installed the next day, which took approximately 1 hour, my total cost was $470.00 ? this is outrageous !!!. 1. A brand new unit should not have a major breakage within a 2 year period; the unit was not mishandled in our home. 2. and why should the consumer be strapped with the labor cost, this should also be passed on the manufacturer, it?s a new unit ? it shouldn?t break. 3. Why the emergency call of $175.00 was not waived or included in the $295.00 labor cost is certainly not fair. We didn?t know the unit was broken until we arrived home, I would not consider 6:30 ? 7:00pm being ?emergency time?, maybe 11 ? 12pm yes, but not early evening when 85% of all working peoples arrive home from work. Plus the situation was not even solved the evening of the ?emergency call?. I have never worked with a company that did not waive their ?service call? if there were parts & labor cost of the repair. 4. I really have a problem paying $470.00 for 1 hour and 20 minutes of labor for a less than 2 year old unit. These are hard times and my monies are tight, I would think a company as reputable as Air Around the Clock would be a little sensitive to their loyal clientele?.. I am shaking I am so angry. This is the letter I wrote to Air Around the Clock. They responded with offering me a discount to an annual maintenance contract. Their responce is that all emergency calls are $175.00 after 5pm and Pam said she works more hours that I ever worked and that I get home way before she does and this is company policy. The response to as why it was not incluced in the next days serviceis because it costs tech time, vehicle/gas time - she also said they were a ""FLAT RATE COMPANY""..... well they can have thier flat rate and I will find someone else who will appreciate my business. more

HORRRIBLE 8/22/2011

I would like to give them a 0 but the system wont go that low. I had an issue with my unit freezing up. They came out and replaced the freon and sold us a service contract. They performed the first service and everything seemed fine. About 1 week later we noticed water seeping up through the hard wood floors and called them per our service contract to come out. The service call was supposed to be at no extra charge per the service contract. However when I called I was told this was an ""After Hours"" call and if the leak was not due to the freon then I would not only have to pay for the service call but I would also have to pay a premium. I wound up fixing the leak myself but the hardwood floors were ruined. \r \r After that time I had been trying to work with them to get the service agreement removed and my money refunded and to get my floors repaired. I was told the fine print said that the contract was non refundable even though it had been less than 30 days and that the wood floors were not their fault.\r \r I have since filed a complaint with the Better Bussiness Bureau and I will be filing a small claims lawsuit. These people are as shady as it comes. I can only believe the positive comments are from people that work their.\r \r I would definately advise staying away. more

Air Around the Clock bad experience 8/12/2011

We have two a/c units in our home. We replaced the largest unit a year ago and also purchased a maintenance agreement for both a/c units. This company kept ""reminding"" us that the a/c units were due for maintenance check ups. Their tech came out and checked both indoor units. All was well. Both were cooling and working fine. As it was lightly raining, the tech was only able to check one outside unit, thank goodness. Conveniently, a couple of days later, the unit on which the tech worked, quit cooling. Another tech from this company came out and said the unit needed a $600 repair or better yet, we needed a new a/c unit. We declined both and called another a/c company. Turns out the repair was less than $300 with fewer parts involved than the original assessment. I am totally convinced that the a/c unit was sabotaged by the tech doing the maintenance. Today, another person shared that the same thing happened to them with Air Around the Clock. What a racket! I spoke with Doug at AAC who professed disbelief that I would think such a thing. We are all entitled to our opinion. I do believe, however, that there are no coincidences. Bottom line: If it isn't broken, don't fix it, especially with this company. more

air around the clock is a terrible company 7/18/2011

I have never written a letter of complaint but I couldn't just sit still and let Air Around the Clock screw us up.\r They came out for a routine servicing as we have a maintenance contract for our 3 AC units. Nothing was leaking or not working. As always, something is always wrong, broken or needs replacing. This time we were told (as we were 18 months ago also) that one of the AC's needed replacing and that it wouldn't last till the next service call 6 months later. Also told one of the upstairs units needed replacing. Neither leaked and both were working.\r The tech told us that all 3 units needed coil cleaning and 2 needed replacing. He ""blew out "" the units, registerd the cold levels (all fine) and left.\r Next day, the upstairs ac started leaking into my garage and downstairs library.The master unit started leaking into the master closet. We called Air Around Clock and the hassle started. I spoke to ASHLEY, told her that after their work, the ac leaks and asked her what could mpossibly have happened? Her answer ""don't shout at me"". My voice was NOT loud at all and there were 3 people in the room with me! I gave the phone to my wife and in 30 seconds this Ashley told my wife not to yell at her. There was no yelling at all. My wife asked Ashley if she was a part owner of the company or was related to the owners.ASHLEY's answer? ""What business is that of yours?"" My wife asked how she could be so dismissive of long term customers specially when they were trying to get me to do $5 / $6,000 of new AC work. I got on the phone with Ashley. I told her not to bother sending anyone, that I was going to hire another company for ALL the work, that I would call the 3 people I knew were using AIr Around Clock to tell them about my dissatisfaction plus the BBB. I asked to speak to an owner. Shortly, ERIC gets on and tells me he's the owner. I tell him exactly what I had told Ashley. His reply? ""Oh, ok"".\r I have followed through and sincerely hope others read this and avoid Air Around the Clock like the plague! more

I want to thank Air Around The Clock for always having outstanding servicemen. Daniel is very polite, patient, and very informative. He was a pleasure to have in my home. Air around the Clock is a good company because of nice young men like Daniel. We have many choices for Air conditioning services down here in Florida, but your company is outstanding. Most bosses dont realize that a good staff is what makes your company great. more

I wanted to take a moment to commend all of the men who were involved with the installation of my two new central air units. Will, who came to my home and spoke to me about getting new AC's and gave me prices was very professional. He answered all of my questions, was very polite, and represented your company in a positive way. The men who installed my units, mainly Corey and Lil Chris were both very hard workers and also performed their job in a very professional manner. They stayed until all of my questions were answered and left my home clean and free of debris. This was my first experience with your company and it will not be my last. I left AAA Modern Air after years of doing business ith them. I will not hesitate to recommend your company to any of my friends, relatives, and coworkers. more

Upon completion of the job, well within the projected time frame, Karon and Emil removed all the old parts and trash, and cleaned with a broom and dustpan. We completed all the required paperwork, and I was shown how to correctly use the thermostat and maintain the air handler. Mr. Pereira, I do hope you keep all these gentlemen in mind when it comes time for bonuses, raises or promotions; you are truly fortunate to have Matt, Frank, Emil, Karon, Jim and Todd in your employ. Additionally, my neighbors were amazed with the entire process, and asked for your number, which I gladly provided. I work with the condo board here, and we had a meeting that evening which I made with time to spare. The problem came when a few of the members wanted to go out for a bite to eat afterwards, and they had trouble getting me to leave the house. I was way to comfortable. The cubes in my iced tea were not melting. I was signing things like 'ice, ice, baby' to myself. And I did something else that I never really do, which is sleep with the A/C on. The entire night, every time it came on, I caught myself smiling. Kudos all around, and many thanks. more

In today's marketplace, it is nice to find professional service people as yourselves who take ownership of their mistakes. We paid for a 3.5 ton A/C unit put it, but a 3-ton system was installed due to a typographical error. When we received an FPL bill significantly higher (about $50!) than usual, we contacted you. Your service man, Tim, showed up at my home around 2:00pm, with a smile on his face and ready to get the job done. He had my air conditioner working in no time. I contacted your company on October 9, regarding some urgent attention needed for my A/C unit. The person on the phone was polite and efficient and gave me a time someone would be at my residence the same day. Your service man showed up at precisely the time that had been given to me and was knowledgeable, friendly, personable, and helpful. He was able to fix my unit under 30 minutes and for a fraction of what I feared it would cost. He even gave me preventative advice for the future of my unit. I'm not sure who I spoke to on the phone that day, but the service man who came to my residence's name was DANIEL. I haven't always had such a pleasant experience with technicians of the companies they work for so I wanted to make you aware of how appreciated your services and tact were! Keep up the good work! I will recommend your company to anyone I know who has A/C issues or questions. more

Honest People 3/16/2011

After two competitive bids, I decided to use your company to replace my HVAC. Your representative, Denny, who gave me the estimate was very competent and professional and explained and documented exactly what I would receive if I signed a contract with your company. Today, Frank Brown and Todd Burden arrived to install my system. They arrived as scheduled. They had the same professionalism and efficiency as Denny. They took care to protect my furnishings. There were polite, patiently answered my questions, worked well together, and had a good attitude. They listened to me and quickly complied with my requests. They put in a very long day and did not compromise their work ethics to get home early. I know I made the right decision in using your company. You are fortunate to have such dedicated employees. A neighbor recommended your company and after the experience I had with your employees, I, in turn, will also recommend it. After some of the bad experiences I have had with different companies, it was wonderful to have my faith restored in knowing there are honest companies who good give performance. more

I want to start by thanking Chippy for all of your assistance with getting my new air conditioning unit. I recently just purchased a new home in which the AC unit was about 35 years old! Yes, I said 35 years old - and was working only from from day to day at minimal, the AC was corroded, moldy, rusty, and loud! I called on a Wednesday and spoke with Karen, who was so pleasant as well as helpful with starting the installation for Thursday She called back right away after that to explain as well apologize that they were waiting on part which ended up only taking a day and before I new it I was being scheduled for a Saturday morning instillation. On Saturday I received a courtesy call from George that they were on there way, I was a little worried considering it was raining all morning and they would have to reschedule. When they arrived a little while later the 2 ""Georges"" showed up and began to tarp over the area were they would be working (great idea) to start the install of the new AC unit. They were so good, as well as friendly, very humorous (which is nice to see) as well as professional. They did a GREAT job and before I new it I was feeling cold, wonderful air conditioning pouring from my vents - something that was missing. The cleaned up, even hosed down the areas were they were working which got muddy. I would like to once again thank all of you for a wonderful job as well as experience, I have several other friends and family that I have already begun telling them about the great service as well as prices that ATC provides. I even have some questions about other services features that I have been inquired by these friends and family. Thank you again and I appreciate all of the effort put forth, I have a comfortable home now and you can't imagine how much that means to me and my husband!! more

Your companies' service was excellent 2/2/2011

I would like to tell you about my positive experience with Air Around the Clock. In an age where customer service seems to be an after thought, your companies' service was excellent. I received three quotes from A/C companies. AATC gave me the best price by far to replace my aged rooftop unit. I originally made an appointment with Doug for August 15th for the installation. After the first weekend of August, I realized my tired old A/C was not going to make it until the Aug 15th date. I called Doug on Monday the 6th hoping to move the date up. Doug said how about tomorrow the 7th! WOW, I could not believe in your busy season you could do this big job with just 1 day's notice. Eddie and Todd did a great job installing the unit and had the house cooled down very quickly. There was some sheet metal that needed to be finished at another day and that was completed in a timely matter. I had my old A/C serviced by Lindstrom AC and have 1 more service on my yearly contract. Because of your price, and employees like Doug, Eddie, and Todd I will switching to Air Around the Clock for all my A/C and appliance repair needs. more
