I would not recommend 12/29/2005

I would not recommend the AZ Snowbowl to skiers/snowboarders as a place to go. The AZ snowbowl overall is not a place that I would recommend my friends and family to go to. There are other places that offer a better similar experience that can be visited in it's place. Upon a recent visit to the Snowbowl I overheard employees making negative comments over the controversy of the snowmaking on the Native American Sacred Mountain. They were making negative comments about Native American in general which overall is a distasteful buisness practice. Especially when it can be overheard by consumers. Just their attitude which was displayed in their comments is unforgivable. There are other respectable buisnesses that will offer better service than the AZ Snowbowl. more

It is our favorite in AZ 12/15/2005

Although the Arizona Snowbowl can get overcrowded and parking may be hard, it has great slopes for Arizona. We like to stay in Sedona and combine a trip to Snowbowl with a stay in Sedona. The past year (2004) was the best skiing and snowboarding conditions Arizona has seen in years. Granted the slopes were packed, but it was worth it for the great powder. more

Too crowded 8/30/2005

Snowbowl is way too crowded for fun. The lift lines are long, the slopes are packed and if the wind is strong they close down the upper mountain. There is no slopeside lodging and unless you are one of the first to arrive, the trudge across the uphill parking lot is a nightmare. It is also hard to get to Flagstaff from Phoenix in snowy weather. I-17 turns into one big ice sheet with trucks and cars skidding everywhere. If you do plan to go skiing here, plan ahead and stay a night or two in Flagstaff to avoid the worst of the weekend traffic. more

Ski Resort 7/31/2005

This is northern Arizona's answer for skiing. People come from Phoenix, California and beyond to ski here at Arizona snowbowl. After several dry years the past year was booming- we had enough snow for the facility to open early and stay open for an extended period of time. They have the usual lodge and ski rental. Most people stay at the hotels in Flagstaff and drive up to snowbowl to ski. The lines get long pretty early on the weekends and Snowbowl can actually close for lack of any more parking so come early. There is some controversy right now over snow making- will be interesting to see how that pans out. Come on over and do some skiing!! more
