I initially posted a harsh review about April's and I am so impressed with their response. It turns out that the assigned staff had a miscommunication and within a day, April's was on top of it and not only scheduled a cleaning session, but they went above and beyond to make sure that everything was acceptable. I will definitely be using April's again. more

I paid April Lane's Cleaning to clean my condo before my new tenant moved in. I met the two people tasked with cleaning my place at 8 a.m. on a Saturday and described in detail what I needed done. I returned the next day to survey the work done and I was appalled. The only things that were cleaned were my bath tub and the top of my stove. The cleaners didn't even bother to sweep my floors or clean any other surfaces. I paid April's a significant amount of money and received almost nothing in return. My tenant arrived this morning about 10 minutes after me and was understandably upset. I am horrified and will never use April's again. more

I've been using April Lane's for approximately two years, and overall I've been happy with their services. My experience hasn't been perfect, there was a rough patch starting out (a misunderstanding regarding the price they quoted me versus what I was charged), but after resolving it things have gone well. The office manager - Samara - responds to email and phone calls in a timely manner, and she is very accommodating to my requests. Initially, I found the quality of the cleaning service to range between acceptable to excellent, depending on the person doing the cleaning. Once I settled on a regular cleaner - Sheila - I've had nothing but excellence. She's even done unexpected minor repairs, fixing broken closet/cupboard doors. I would happily continue using them for as long as I am able. They're pretty damn awesome. more

I love that April Lane is taylor-made for each client. I got to choose my starting time (afternoon was essential for me) and any exra tasks are always doable. Price is fantastic too.... more

April Lane does a great job on my house. The price is really reasonable too. I had an issue one time and not only did they come back out to correct it right away, but they gave me a coupon for my next cleaning. They are very professional, both the cleaners and the office staff. They clean my house when I'm not home and I trust them completely. They do a great job cleaning my house and added services on that aren't part of their normal service with no problem. I would gladly recommend them to anyone. more

Have used this service for several years. Although there have been some problems with a couple of the cleaners they sent, (they were slow due to lack of experience)the management response has always been extremely prompt (once they sent another cleaner immediately), and the follow-up immediate. Am very happy with my current cleaner and management's attention to my satisfaction. more

and it's April Lane's!!! Having my home cleaned is a luxury for me, something I never foresaw being a justifiable routine in my life. Since I found this company, I'll never turn back! First off, the customer service is phenomenal...I always receive a kind and helpful response to any of my questions or requests within 24 hours. I was admittedly apprehensive about letting a complete stranger into my home when I'm not there, so I especially loved being able to read a little bio about each of the cleaners on the website. I have the same cleaner every time, her name is Sheila, and she is just so great! Her cleaning is always thorough and consistent. Not to mention, I always leave her little notes and she always writes me back...I've come to feel like I know her even though we've never met, and I really enjoy that personal connection/touch. The routine has become so comfortable, and certainly the feeling when I come into my sparkling house is simply the best! Having had a few quotes from other companies to start, I feel the prices are very fair for the quality of service and attention you receive. They pay close attention to any details you point out regarding specific cleaning tasks and/or cleaning products you prefer to be used. Bottom line is this...I don't see how you could possibly find any better cleaning service...April Lane's is a solid 5 stars in my book! ...and now Judy's book too ;) more

I have been a customer of April Lanes for 5 years. They do a wonderful job, are very reliable and keep in close touch when there are variations in staff and schedules. I signed up last year for weekly cleanings with April Lane and so far, I have been very happy with them! The cleaners and office staff are always very friendly and professional, and they always go above and beyond to make me happy. I am a very picky client, but they always go through my home with a fine tooth comb and are very efficient, thorough, and fast. The one time I noticed something that hadn't been cleaned (some splatters in the microwave, but everyone's human), I called the office and they were very apologetic and sent another cleaner out that day to re-clean the microwave, and gave me a discount. But that was one tiny thing in almost a year. The rates are a little higher than the bigger chains, but I'm willing to pay a little bit more knowing that I'm getting fantastic service and supporting a small, local business. I would not trust anyone else! more

I have used independent people in the past and never got the personal experience I do here. I was worried about affording a cleaning service, but once I came home that first day I was sold. It's worth every penny to be able to come home from work and feel REFRESHED! And it's always a bonus when the cleaners are actually happy and love where they work! They handle even the inevitable glitch professionally and in the best interest of the client. That's what really proves to me that this company has heart. more

I contacted this company to clean my 600sq foot home. I was quoted that for 5.5 hours with 2 people would cost 236.00. The cleaners claimed that they ran out of time and couldn't finish the dusting or the windows until I paid more. I don't understand why because my living quarters are not that big, my house was fairly clean, so there was no heavy scouring, and the work they did do was only halfway done. So, what were they doing? I called the company and complained and was told that April herself was coming to inspect the job that had been done. I told April that I was unhappy and that I felt a lot more should have been done for the time alloted and the sq. footage of my house. I also shared with her my displeasure in the work that was done. This would have been a good time for April to turn this bad situation into a positive one, but instead she continued to tell me that it was my fault the things I wanted to get clean didn't get done because I was not specific enough on my priority list. Isn't it their job to explain this beforehand so you get everything you expect out of that first cleaning? I was so furious by this statement that I decided then and there that I would never use this company again. After educating me on what I should have done, April then agreed to have her cleaners redo the work that they didn't do correctly. I felt this situation was dealt with poorly and I lost respect for April after our meeting. I would think that April would understand customer service and would want to make her clients happy. I wonder if she realizes that when a customer has a bad experience they are more likely to tell 10 of their friends. I work in an industry where I see and talk to a lot of people, and I will tell them about my experience. I did not like this company and I thought April made a poor choice in how she chose to deal with this situation, again the experience was terrible. more

I have used April Lane's off and on since 2004. They are one of the few licensed/insured/bonded companies that have a low enough minimum that it is affordable for them to clean apartment as small as mine. I leave a list of priorities and the cleaners are always efficient and very detailed. What a treat to come home to a clean, nice smelling space! more

The first cleaners to come in told me they were quitting. What incentive for them to do a decent job on my house! They did a poor job - no edges cleaned, no fingerprints removed from moldings, no windowsills or tops of picture frames dusted, dry mop the floors that should have been scrubbed, didn't' even vacuum behind the doors or move ottomans and lift furniture cushions! I complained but there was no "quality control agent" on staff to come inspect. They offered me $5 back. BAH. I took, dated and sent digital photos. They sent a new cleaner, "their best" then next day who did most of what I asked to be "re cleaned" but only because I was standing there pointing it out. I wouldn't bother with April Lane - try someone else. more

Our first cleaning..supposed to be 3 hours..and our 670sq ft. unit was supposed to be deep cleaned for the first visit. One of us came back before the cleaner was to leave (about 1/2 hr.) No one in sight. On first sight, it looked clean, however, there were several oversights...no dusting of bookcase, backsplash of stove was greasy, etc. many problems. The cleaner, according to our concierge left over an hour earlier than we paid for. We contacted April Lane and received an email reply but waited for a resolution for a few weeks. They came back with an email reply that we would get back $5 as she had to pay for parking and according to the cleaner, she only left 15min. early. Well, finally April Lane called and gave a glossy story of how her cleaner would never tell a lie and that she believes she has resolved our issue by returning 45min. of our money (in a week). Unacceptable service. As she stated, she should have sent a cleaner back in the next few days to finish the cleaning...but they did NOT. So much for service and REALLY resolving the problem. We would not have wanted a refund if she had finished the cleaning. Our unit is small...no excuse! more
