Editorial review from Citysearch 10/4/2012

Review not about retail service, but instead about aggressive and dangerous road rage. I was just ran off the road in Walligford by an Apex Appliance driver in a White company truck. He was hanging out of his window, waving his finger and screaming obscenities while forcing me off the road by trying to hit me with his vehicle. If this is any indication of the folks they hire to represent their company then I think I'll have similar luck picking up recently paroled convicts to help with my appliance woes. They seem to be cut from the same cloth.\r \r I think he needs a hug. more

North Seattle Appliance Repair 4/2/2012

I know there have been negative reviews about this company and I guess everyone has off days, but we have used Apex for repairs on three different occasions over the past few months and had a very good experience everytime. They even sent a guy out on Sat at no extra charge just to get our washer fixed. The first time we used them, our stove had stopped working and they got right out there, diagnosed all the issues and fixed it as soon as the part came in for the price they quoted. They have fixed the washing machine in our primary home and a washer in our rental house too, both of those services were also done for what they quoted and all work was completed in a timely manner. Don't hesitate to give them a call. They were cheaper and faster than every other company I called on the washer part/service. more

Never use again! 12/14/2011

I got the number for Apex from another appliance company that didn't service my area. They speak a good story on the phone..I explained the problem thinking it might be a belt gone out on my wash machine and the noise it was making. I was quoted a price of $19.50 to come and look at it. The repair guy was very nice...I mean VERY nice! He came in, took the front off the wash machine, diagnosed the transmission, told me they wouldn't be able to get the part in until the end of the month and that it'd cost $500something. Since I bought the machine off Craigslist for $300 over 6 months ago, I more than got my money's worth out of it already and wasn't about to stick that much into it. So really...imagine my shock when they billed my debit card $135 for a 5 minute diagnosis!!! No way. That's taking major advantage of the customer. I'm a single mom and I don't take too kindly to being ripped off. I will never use this company for anything. I'm also going to leave a crap review on YELP. If there was more I could do to bust them for this rip off, I would! more

Excellent customer service 11/25/2011

I went to Apex to get parts to fix my dryer. Bob spent 20 minutes answering my questions and making sure I could complete the job safely. He explained to me how to test the dryer after installing the parts to be sure that I had solved the initial problem and to make sure that there weren't any latent ones that could be a safety ( ie fire) issue. It is rare these days to find this kind of quality customer service. I left with my $40 part feeling confident and very grateful that I had the knowledge to safely fix my appliance. more

Do Not Hire 10/25/2011

They came out to fix a dishwasher, didn't have the part with them so said they would order and be back the next week. They even said if I agreed to pay cash up front they would give me a 30% discount. I paid check 1/2 and NEVER heard from them again. I've kept calling, but so far nada. They always need to talk to the serviceman who never comes in until 4 and are suppose to call me back, but I have n more

So so customer service 4/7/2011

I'm a working Mom of 3. My washing machine went right before I needed to go out of town for a week, leaving my family at home, and all the baskets in the house were full. Not wanting to leave a house full of dirty laundry for my mother in law's impending visit I tried to get a tech out to fix the washer right away. \r \r No luck with Sears, they couldn't come for a week so I started calling around. I was referred to Apex by another appliance company. I called and Jim said he said they could come out the next day. Great! I scheduled the appointment and after hanging up realized he didn't ask for the brand/make/model... when I called back he assured me that they carried all the major parts on their truck so having the part shouldn't be a problem. He ended up taking the information and giving me a brief rundown on the inner workings of a washer. Great again! This is going to be a piece of cake. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.\r \r I wasn't at home when the tech came, the nanny let him in. After about 20 minutes the nanny called back to say the tech was gone, he couldn't fix it, and the repair would be as much as buying a new washer. Bummer! She said the tech was going to call me right away to explain the problem. No phone call.\r \r An hour later I call the office and talk to Jim again. He doesn't have any information and seems fixated on the fact that I wasn't at home when the tech was there. He calls the tech, calls me back and says the transmission is shot and it will be ""about $300"" to fix it. Okay, I say, does that include the $ for today's service visit? He seems offended by my question. He says if I want a specific price he will have to call me back. Yes Jim, I would like to know how much it will cost me should I decide to fix the washer. After a phone call back he says ""$209 for the part, plus labor and tax brings the cost to $369.01"" to fix it, or he can sell me a new one for $430 plus tax and haul away costs for the old one. \r \r I'm annoyed because based on my description of the problem anyone with understanding of washing machine repair should be able to have an idea of the problem. Maybe my expectations are too high, you'll have to decide for yourself. How many parts are there inside a washing machine? Again I have no idea, but a transmission seems like something they should have on hand, or at least the parts to fix one. They don't so I pay for their trip out there to check and then pay again for their time to bring the part back to fix it. \r \r Their customer service is so-so. I get the impression they are used to dealing more often with property management companies then residential customers. They charged me $131.35 for the visit out to my house. I ended up buying a new washer from Sears for $320. I would probably not use Apex Appliance again.\r \r more

We Recently had Apex Come to our apartment to repair our washer, a friend had recommended them because they specialize in appartment appliances. They were able to fix our washer in less than an hour, we haven't had any problems since. They have good prices, you can make same day appointments and their workers are professional. more

Great service 12/28/2009

I left a message with my needs, got a call back within 30 minutes and had my part that afternoon. Bob was extremely helpful and appropriately horrified by the price GE suggested for a replacement tray for an old microwave. He sold me a used one for less than 1/5th the price. Apex will definitely get my future business. Pros: Very convenient. Polite, friendly and knowledgeable staff. more

Bob is very arrogant 10/7/2009

Went in for two simple parts. Had the part #s and model numbers of the appliance. First of all, I was kept waiting for ~10 minutes while Bob was on the phone with a 'good customer'. When the parts were found, I was quoted 15% above the Home Depot parts price. When I mentioned that, Bob said he doesn't negotiate, and take it or leave it -- and pushed me to quickly decide. I just walked out of the store. I can't believe the arrogant attitude. Don't even bother coming in, unless you want to support this guy's ego. Pros: Had the part Cons: Attitude is poor more

Bob is areal A**hole 9/25/2009

Totally blew me off and was quite rude because I didn't have a parts number but why would I, I'm hear to ask questions so I can find out what I need. All he had to say was I'll need more info, not be an appliance parts GOD j*rk. He became so rude it became surreal.\r I went up the road to All Tech (206) 3648447 with the same lack of information and they found me the part in minutes and for cheaper Pros: He acted like dated his wife Cons: Yes more

Helpful Service 6/25/2009

I came in recently and had Bob help me. Being a layman with no clue and only some online directions and an ohmeter, I asked Bob for some help in narrowing down the cause of my dryer motor not coming on. Well, Bob spent a good ten minutes with me, offered a schematic, and got me the right part. Long story short, my dryer was up and running in no time. Great service for just a $14.00 part sale. Apex has always come through for me in the past and this was no exception. Pros: Took the time to help me more

very dependable 11/17/2008

I have used these guys for years, no problems what so ever!, 21 years in property management I would not use any one else in Seattle.\r \r Pros: service Cons: no I dont work for them more

WILL NOT FOLLOW THROUGH 6/24/2008

So we had out new dryer set to come in between 8:30-9am they show up at 9:45am. Then they leave a hour later and THE DRYER IS NOT WORKING! I call Apex within 3 minutes of them leaving when I went to inspect the dryer and use it... They said they would have them come right back... 40 minutes later I still hadn't heard anything so I called back...""oh sorry they will be there by 1"" 1pm rolls around and they are not here I call back a few more times as they keep saying they will come to fix the problem but it is a quarter to 4 and they are still not here and I have wasted my whole day waiting for them... since they like to run a business THAT DOES NOT ARRIVE ON TIME (MANY OF MY APPOINTMENTS) & DOES NOT LIKE TO INSTALL THE NEW DRYERS CORRECTLY! I AM NOT SURE WHY THEY DIDN'T INSTALL IT CORRECTLY?! You would think they would want to have referrals... I guess not. Pros: One repair guy is nice and calls you to make sure things work Cons: The others don't help more
