Amazingness 4/3/2011

Antoinette's is absolutely the best in town for antique jewelry, especially engagement/wedding rings. My fianc? and I spent hours with Antoinette and found the perfect ring for me! The customer service was stellar. Antoinette herself educated us about old and new diamond cuts and was extremely sensitive about my nickel allergy (she made sure I only tried on platinum bands). Then I tried each one on about 78 times, and she showed me how to view the diamonds with a loupe. Antoinette seemed truly passionate about what she does - you could tell she really wants people to find the jewelry that was meant for them. I'll definitely be back! more

BEST EXPERIENCE! 3/19/2011

This was the first shop my boyfriend and I went on our engagement ring search, I DID NOT HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Antoinette is wonderful, knowledgable, and so much fun! No matter what your budget, or previous jewerly experience, she is a doll. I tried on so many rings (shocked how many were available and so beautiful within my smallish budget) and had so much fun with her helping us! YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING THAT IS JUST FOR YOU! I did, as the next day, I left with a 1920s Art Deco ring ( and a perfectly sweet little band too)!!! Thank you Antoinette, can't wait to come back in and play! more

Great choices and prices to choose from 3/16/2011

Had my 10th wedding anniversay and wanted a ring that was unique. Antoinette was very friendly and helpfully in showing me the right ring for me. I ended up getting a ring that totally fit me size 3 1/2 isn't easy to find but I did. Even my husband was impressed with all the choices and thought my ring did have charm. I would recommend this place people have different styles in what they like and she has many to fit the person. more

See Antoinette first... 1/30/2011

Here's my story: My fiance and I went to every antique / estate jewelry shop looking for a 1920's-30's ring. We tried Gilt, Medallion, Malloy's - you name it and I've been there. I can tell you honestly that nowhere in Portland did we find a better selection or more reasonable prices. Antoinette is in Multnomah village in the back of an attached antique shop. Antoinette herself is unbelievably knowledgeable and helpful. When we decided on a ring, I had her put it on hold for me until I could come back with the cash, at which point she she promptly sent it to her specialist. A ring that old should have taken a great deal more work / time to spruce up, but amazingly, Antoinette had the ring back to me within a week, so I was able to surprise my fiance at the perfect moment in her favorite restaurant in SE. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Antoinette and her tucked-away jewelry shop. She deals with integrity, timeliness, and an obvious passion and love for what she does - and I gather she spends a hell of a lot of time seeking out the perfect items from around the country to stock her collection. If you're looking into estate jewelry as an option (which you should) Antoinette should be the first stop on your list. more

Best quality service! 12/5/2010

A friend of mine brought me to Antoinette's to get a feel of what sort of wedding ring shape I liked. Located in Multonomah Village, I thought it was really neat that her shop was located in the back of a sort of gallery. She was so thorough and never made me feel rushed. I also liked that she could read my expressions; she knew if I wasn't feeling a certain type of ring. I would recommend her shop to anyone who wants to enjoy the process of looking for a fabulous wedding ring or other estate jewelry. You will not be disappointed! more

Antoinette's Antique and Estate Jewelry 9/20/2010

My fiancee and I were shopping for vintage/antique engagement rings because fo the amazing design and quality of the rings. When the first place we looked didn't have a very big selection we started searching for other places near us. After reading the many amazing reviews online we knew that this was the place to go and Antoinette did not disappoint. We were looking for two complimentary rings within a specific budget and we found them! Antoinette was very patient while we tried on many of her rings and gave us a lesson on the time periods and quality of each piece. She even directed us towards rings within our budget. I highly recommend her shop as a must stop for anyone searching for antique/vintage rings! more

Great, great experience 3/6/2010

My fiance and I went to Antoinette's store after checking out another lauded vintage jewelry shop in NW Portland. Really, there was no comparison. If you are looking for something beautiful and unique, go to Anoinette's. I found a ring that I can't stop looking at. Pros: patient salespeople; awesome selection more

Very please 2/28/2010

Really like the piece they set me up with for a special occasion. I was definitely a customer who required a little extra effort and they helped me out very graciously. Thanks. Pros: Service more

Wonderful experience 1/23/2010

My fiance and I had been looking for a special antique engagement ring for almost a year since I am very picky. We live in Seattle so at first we looked there but we were having no luck for months. Finally we made the trip down to Portland and visited all the antique jewelry shops in the city. I have to say Antoinette has a great selection of high quality items and really reasonably priced. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and lets you try on rings without pressure. We had a wonderful experience and are just so happy we finally found the ring of my dream! Pros: Very good selection of antique engagement rings Cons: A bit out of the way, but definitely worth the trip! more

Best jewelry experience ever 9/8/2009

my girlfriend wanted an antique engagement ring with a special story. antoinette was the only jeweler in town that made me feel welcome despite not really having a knowledge about antique rings. I had a few pictures of what my girlfriend liked, and after about 30 seconds Antoinette pulled out the perfect ring. I had been shopping around for some time, so i can saw with some authority that her prices were about half what other stores were asking(and my diamond is a VS1). i would highly recommend going to Antoinette. Pros: price, selection, knowledge Cons: none more

Best Selection and Service in Portland 9/4/2009

If you are looking for a unique vintage piece of jewelry there is no where else in Portland like Antoinette's. Hands down she has the best selection in Portland and her prices are better than other antique jewlers in Portland. She is very helpful and friendly. My fiance, Kyle, and I both can't say enough about our positive experience buying my engagement ring at Antoinette's. We highly recommend Antoinette's for her customer service, attention to detail and gorgeous selection. Pros: Friendly, beautiful selection, helpful, prices can't be beat more

Wonderful/Unique Antique Jewelry 9/3/2009

My fiance and I have had a fantastic experience working with Antoinette. She worked with him to pick out an engagement ring that I absolutely love, I couldn't be happier with it. After getting engaged, Antoinette has been extremely helpful, helping us to find the perfect wedding ring. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, honest and never pushy. I look foward to working with her to find more jewelry in the future. I would highly recommend her shop if you are considering antique jewelry. It's definitely worth a visit to Multnomah village just to check out her gorgeous jewelry! Pros: Great service, lovely jewelry Cons: Absolutely none more

Beautiful, Affordable Ring 9/2/2009

My fiance and I were looking for an engagement ring, and I was thinking about a vintage ring since many modern rings I had tried on felt too large on my petite hand. We made a special trip from Eugene to Portland to check out the selection at Antionette's, based on a few reviews I had read about good prices. We found a beautiful opal, pearl, and diamond ring from the 20's for around $550 that perfectly suits our eclectic style and minimal budget (opal is my birthstone as well). We were in love with the ring and bought it the same day. At the time, I felt like we may have rushed into such an important purchase without really looking around to other places, but I haven't regretted it yet and still love how unique and pretty my ring is. Antoinette's selection was varied in stones and styles, and I appreciated her history on the progression of ring and stone cutting styles through the decades. I greatly recommend visiting Antoinette's for anyone looking for not-a-cookie-cutter ring at affordable prices. Pros: Interesting selection, good quality Cons: Hours, if you are coming from out of town more

Found exactly what we didn't know we wanted. 8/30/2009

My fiance and I had the idea of a custom wedding ring set in mind and went around to many places looking for a jeweler to make it. One day while exploring Multnomah Village we noticed Antoinette's shop inside Le Meitour Gallery and suddenly we were inspired by the idea of vintage jewelry. We found the set that my wife now wears and had one of the fondest memories of many on our journey to our wedding day. Antoinette is delightful (and knowledgeable) and the good feelings just add to the value of our rings and wedding process. Pros: selection, price, attitude, wonderful shopping experience. Cons: What's not to love? more

Antoinette is the best for beautiful pieces and price 8/15/2009

I can't say enough about how nice of an experience it is to look through Antoinette's collection. She is SO nice; no pressure, with prices that are TRULY affordable. I am so happy with what I bought and enjoy looking at my rings every day. I have a pair of garnet earrings on hold and am looking forward to picking them up next week. All of her merchandise is one-of-a-kind, estate jewelry in the highest of quality. Best thing is, she will work out layaway terms with you and is not afraid to let you try on anything in her case! I drool......and I will be back for a layaway on a diamond deco ring soon! Karat Pros: Customer Service, Best Unique Pieces and Price Cons: None more

Beautiful and fair priced antique and vintage jewelry 7/14/2009

This jewelry store is a hidden gem (no pun intended). The selection of gorgeous rings, necklaces, earings, etc. is wonderful. My personal taste in jewelry is estate/vintage and the store is full of exactly those items. If you are getting engaged and want a classy ring this is definitely a place to visit. Pros: Beautiful and fair priced Cons: None more

Amazing Experience..Do take the time to read 3/25/2009

We are in our late 50's and getting married. We wanted a ring which had been previously loved with a history ..the ultimate recycling of life! The minute we entered Antoinette's shop we found what was the ring of a lifetime. My background is in Ancient and Medieval history and I knew I had seen a picture of the ring I was holding someplace, but couldn't place just where. After purchasing the ring I started doing research and discovered it was from the 16th century. We had it appraised by an antiquarian jewelry appraiser in London specializing in old stones and discovered it is definitely from the late 16th century when they were just beginning to cut diamonds in the 'rose' style as it resembles a rose blossom. It was also from the royal house of Spain, (which is why the ring's style seemed so familiar), and was appraised as museum quality starting at $6,500.00 plus. We paid much, much, much less. After sharing the good news, (for us), with Antoinette her graciousness in not seeing it as a financial loss to her business but a delight in orchestrating our purchase impressed us enough to return and purchase another ring, a lovely old rose gold band with obvious markings of having been loved and cherish for many years, and the most fabulous baroque pearl earrings with the same rose cut diamond accents I have ever seen in my life! And again, the lovely Antoinette gave us such a wonderful price we feel she is the most selfless, charming shop owner we have had the good fortune meet. We have recommended her to everyone we know looking for jewelry, and now to you. Be ready to find something magical in there, and someone wonderful you can trust. Pros: Quality, Price, Knowledge of Product,Charming Owner Cons: none more

So helpful and knowledgeable 3/2/2009

My husband I were in the market for an eternity band to commemorate the birth of our first child. We shopped most of the local antique and estate jewelers and shops and none could compare to the selection and expertise of Antoinette. She was amazingly helpful and wonderful to work with. She really took the time to get to know us and our needs and we left extremely happy with the PERFECT ring on my finger. I wish that we would have known about her when we purchased our wedding and engagement bands. I will buy from her again. more

She knows what you're looking for before you do! 1/29/2009

My fiancee and I decided to go ring shopping together, and we were looking for a vintage ring. A friend of mine is studying gemology and she recommended Antoinette's because she knew her selection was high quality and her prices were low. I called Antoinette on the phone and described the type of ring I was looking for. When I went to the store a few days later, the very first ring she pulled out, an art-deco from the 20's or 30's, was the one we decided on. Plus we found a charming wedding band to go with it. She is very friendly and patient and obviously loves her work. My fiancee ended up paying far less for both the engagement ring AND wedding band than he had planned on just for the engagement ring. Antoinette said she is the only one running her shop, so she has little overhead and can pass that savings on to us. She even gave a small discount on the band when we realized we had enough cash. I highly recommend this shop! Pros: wide selection, friendly and personal service, surprisingly low prices more

A great experience! 12/7/2008

With my recent engagement I was lucky enough to be able to pick out my own ring. I wanted something unique and just my style, and Antoinette helped me narrow the field down to three rings (not an easy task!). Her selection included rings from many different periods and regions. All three rings fit into my budget, which was relatively low! Antoinette took the time explain the history behind all the rings, and about diamonds in general, and was perfectly patient with me. I absolutely adore the ring we finally went with and am spending all my free time gazing at it! A wonderful experience all around, and I would definitely recommend her over a new dealer or any other estate jeweler in PDX, especially if you are looking for a piece with some soul. We went to the mall later and for kicks did some brief comparisons between our ring and some similarly set new stones, and were happy to see that we paid half as much or better than if we were to buy new. Pros: great location, extremely helpful shop owner, excellent value more
