I had taken multiple pets to Animal Hospital of Renton and had a pretty major surgery done there for my dog. First of all they were expensive. More expensive than other vets in the area but they were close for us, I had a satisfactory experience with them, not bad enough to switch vets. My dog needs prescription dog food and the staff got my order wrong several times, the last time I had moved and drove an hour to get there and they said that I had never ordered it, when I played them a recording of them calling me to tell me to come get my food. They said they could charge me for smaller bags but not what I ordered, then 3 days later they actually called me to find out if I was ever coming to pick up my original order. After this awful experience I decided order my dog's food online but Animal Hospital of Renton denied my prescription saying I had not brought my dog in for a check-up in two years so they needed to see her at least once a year. They had been filling the supposedly expired prescription all this time as long as they received the revenue, however when I take my business elsewhere they deny the prescription. Then when trying to get an answer, one of their office staff (Joan) actually hung up on me. When my husband called to talk to them, they denied we had gotten any food from them over the last year. How were we feeding my dog then? They had erased the records to cover their butts. This Dr.'s ethics are BAD. Do not take your pet here, unless you want to overpay to be treated like a dog. I'm filing formal complaints with the BBB and the Veterinary Board of Governers. more

Cindy, The exam charges that were applied to your invoice during your visit were in error as a new client. I was out of the office dealing with an illness in my family during the same week as your appointment with Dr. Ferguson. When I returned I did get your letter expressing your concerns (letter was dated 8-26-10, three days after your visit) Upon looking into your account, it was evident that you had indeed been over charged and I immediately wrote you a refund check and called you. (check dated 8-29-10 three days after the date on the letter and one day after I actually received it) The refund was issued because it was the right thing to do and not for any other reason. I would have issued you the refund regardless and if I had been in the office during that week you would have received it the next day. Again my apologies that you were over charged, I did try to make it right as quickly as possible. I hope things are going well with Winnie and Louie & I hope that you can forgive the staff person that made the error; we have taken steps to keep this type of issue from happening in the future. We started using this vet last year when my dog ate a bunch of slug bait and almost died. Dr. Wood & staff saved his life and nursed him back to health. We use Dr. Wood for our dogs and Dr. Ferguson for our birds. We have experienced two things regarding their pricing: 1) If your pet is on deaths door don't expect the bill to be $5.00. Having said that, we've had to take one of our dogs to Access the pet ER more than once and the expenses each time were more than twice what we paid with Dr. Wood. 2) I have found that for everyday things, they are moderately priced. Overall great care and service, moderately priced, they are open late, and they're easy to get to. (Access had great care too, just very, very expensive) more

My family and I have been going to this veterinary clinic since 1995 (when Dr. Swaim owned it) My pets have seen Dr. Wood and several of her associates and we've always had positive experiences. We made the transition with them when they moved from their old location to this one. My pets are never timid when coming here and they seem to get really happy when Dr. Wood comes into the room.... Ok they may not like the shots that they get, but they get over it quickly. AHCC does not have much of a toy selection but then again they're not a pet store either.. I have found their prices to be moderate relative to the care they provide. They spay estimate they gave me was a bit higher than I would have liked. After shopping around we could have had it done cheaper however cheaper isn't always better. Bottom line is I trust this place and the care that they have given my family over the years. more

We have been taking our pets here for years. They have always been great about taking the time to explain things. I have found their prices to be on par with other animal care facilities. This is a very convenient place for us and our pets love their staff, its weird. more

I wrote a review and now I am someone else they claim. I guess they can't face the fact that they can be disliked by many, not just one person. Now you made the hulk very angry! I have taken my pets here more then once, and so has my mother in law, however after my last experience I won't return here as they were very rough with my animals. They have employee's who are inexperienced and have no knowledge of Vet Medicine or pricing. The girl I spoke to regarding my concerns seemed high as a kite! I got no where so why waste my time. The prices here are the most I have ever paid, I only put up with it because of how close it was to me. They force tests that are not needed, x-rays, blood work, and whatever else they wanted to do for a little cold she had. I really hope that people won't experience what I went through. All my pet had was a little infection, they acted like she was going to die. I found a new Vet in Seattle. Wonderful service any great pricing. more

How many times when you take your pet to the doctor, do you get a call the next day to see how their doing?? Not to many. Everyone that works with Dr. Wood is a professianal. They are very knowledgeable, kind and always very friendly. They call you everyday to see how you and your pet are doing. If things aren't going well, they will figure out an alternative. Our first experience with Dr. Wood was back in June 0f 06, my father's dog of 13 years had passed away and I decided to get him another one. This puppies name was Benji and we took him to see Dr. Wood for his first baby checkup. About three weeks later Benji became sick with a liver shunt and had to be put to sleep. Dr. Wood helped us through this hard time as the pet store that we had bought Benji from was giving us a hard time. She took care of us and even sent us a card and a plant. Now keep in mind she had only known us for three weeks. I had gone to the same Vet. for 11 years and have never gotten anything but a bill and a dog that is now not doing well because it was given to much prediazone. I had no idea that it was bad, but then I wouldn't, I'm not the doctor. Dr. Wood is now helping to correct the problem as long as we can and I know that she will be there for me when the time comes to put my son to sleep. Which just kills me, but she will be there. No doubt in my mind. Again, she reminds you of an old fashion doctor that actully knows your name, your pets name and she truly cares. I would never go any where else. I will soon be moving down to Sumner, but I will still make the drive to Renton to see Dr. Wood. You just don't find people like her anymore in this day and age. She deserves a huge applause and recognition for her outstanding practice. Your pets deserve the best. And that is Dr. Wood and her staff.
