This place came up when I was looking for a place to board my 3 dogs. They were relatively cheaper than other places, and they would accept proof of purchase for vaccines ( I vaccinate my dogs myself). The counter girl was very nice. The vet called me while I was away to tell me that one of my dogs had an ear infection and he was treating it, that another one needed hair pulled from her ears (really??) and that another needed a dental. When I picked my dogs up 6 nights later, my bill was TWICE as much as I had budgeted. $600!! Apparently, the vet examined my dogs (didn't ask him to), and charged me, bathed all of them (didn't ask), and charged me. ""It's our policy"" I was told, never in writing, and charged me around $20 a dog. Then charged me 15$ A DAY to treat my dog's ears (didn't ask him to) and around $80 for the medication. He then proceeded to try and sell me expensive science diet food and argued with me about the benefits! (anybody remember the recall?!) I feed Canidae, not cheap food. He also argued with me about the risk of anesthesia on my greyhound for the dental. She almost died once b/c of anesthesia...I know my own dog! All in all, a very unhappy experience. I tried to get out of there without paying the extra stuff, but my hubby was so fed up, he just handed over the card. And to top it off, all three of the dogs coughing and sneezing...and this has never happened before! So much for trying to save money on boarding, next time we will head back to animal barn.
Pros: counter girl was pleasant
Cons: unwanted treatments, now sick dogs
