I have a cat who can be less than social and have had no problems with taking her to see Dr. Stroshine. The staff is always friendly, helpful AND professional. The tech and the doctor have always been warm, caring and kind to my pet. Since moving out of the area, I travel an hour from home in order to take her here. With the care they provide, it's completely worth it. more

I have always found the Animal Hospital of Salinas to be caring and professional. Dr. Stroshine is patient and kind, and he's wonderful with all animals. With four dogs in the family, we need a veterinary hospital that can take care of anything. We've been going to Animal Hospital of Salinas for over 20 years, and they've been great. The staff is friendly and we can almost always get an appointment quickly. Dr. Stroshine is a wonderful veterinarian, who really cares about your pets. The hospital is very focused on preventative medicine, and out animals have stayed very healthy as a result. more

Very good hospital; I would recommend seeing Dr. Stroshine, *not* Dr. Kennedy, as the two doctors are a night and day difference. Dr. Stroshine is an amazing vet, very caring, and has been practicing for years. He's the best veterinarian in town, by far. Just make sure you see him and not the other doctor. more

We've been here several times with multiple pets ... each time hoping that our next experience would be a good one. The office staff had been so friendly and helpful - we just couldn't believe things wouldn't work out. Our first experience was a cat we took in for an exam and shots. The vet recommended all types of vaccinations. Not knowing any better, we agreed. Later we found out we'd vaccinated against things not even in our area and that one of the vaccines could cause her to be euthanized immediately if she ever ended up in the animal shelter (because the vaccine would cause her to test positive for the disease.) The vet never told us this. Sadly, our cat ran away when we moved later on, we only hope we didn't cause her to die in a shelter and that she found a new home instead. Next we brought in a baby bird we had that was having trouble feeding because its parents were new and inexperienced, the animal hospital claimed to have an avian vet on hand. We have been to this vet one time too many. We have a friendly corgi golden retriever who has never bitten anyone (except an unfriendly mailman). On our first visit the vet tech was rude and not professional. We figured he had a bad day. The second visit was for a cut toe. A different vet tech took our pup, looked at his paw, called it a scratch and literally dropped him on the floor. It may have been a scratch, but our pup was limping and in discomfort. Then the same vet tech that was rude during our first visit, took the pup back to "weigh" him, and brought him back out with a muzzle. When we questioned him about the muzzle, he promptly turned around, went back into back room with our dog, and muttered something vulgar under his breathe. About 10 minutes later we recieved our pup back. The vet was very nice, but his staff was HORRIBLE! All of this of course happened in front of our 8 yr old daughter, who is almost as traumatized as the dog. more

We actually adopted our dog through Animal Friends Rescue Project and he was born here at this animal hospital They took very good care of him and his brothers, sisters and mom. He was neutered there and received all of his care from them. They were excellent with our dog and really cared about him and us. I would definately recommend this place to others because they are very efficient. You can get an appointment pretty easily and they offer more than just healtcare for your ptes. You can also board your animals there if you need to go out of town and cannot bring them with you. They also have reasonable prices.
